Ryan tests the new Wilson Staff Model irons at his indoor performance centre at Howley Hall Golf Club, Leeds, testing the new Wilson Staff Model irons – and he’s especially excited to share the brand-new Staff Model XB
The 2026 Wilson Staff Model iron family includes the Staff Model Blade, Staff Model CB, and the all-new Staff Model XB which Ryan couldn’t wait to tell you about. In this first-look test, he breaks down what’s new, how each model feels, and how they stack up in a Blade vs CB vs XB comparison.
Ryan explains the key differences between the three models and the type of golfer each is designed to suit. The Blade and CB are aimed at stronger players and confident ball-strikers, while still offering a level of forgiveness, with both made from forged 8620 carbon steel. The new Staff Model XB keeps a sleek, slim look but adds a slightly wider sole for extra stability and forgiveness – ideal for low-handicap golfers, and potentially a great fit for single figures through to low/mid teens.
Ryan tests 9-iron, 7-iron and 5-iron in all three models, sharing feel and performance feedback before diving into the launch monitor data analysis.

Good looking irons
Been waiting for these 😍 they look stunning,, are they bringing a new dynapower forged out
Are they priced competitively (XB) ?
I was going to get old Wilson CB Irons but they were sold out for the longest time. Probably because of the new line coming out. At the time they only had the more Game improvement irons and I did not want those. I ended up getting the Callaway AI 150 irons. I know my Callaway’s are not CB’S or Blades. I decided to go in different direction. Also the Srixon newer 5’s and 7’s after Christmas were sold out for along time as well.
Wilson the goat
I got the XB last week. Can't believe how good these clubs are.
Excellent and very detailed review, I am pleasantly surprised by how close the carry distances are and that the stronger lofted XBs are not a club longer, so how do the XBs compare to the 2025 T150s in terms of size, performance and forgiveness?
How does XB compared to M-15’s?
I would love to test these on my channel. I love their Staff Model lineup.
Ryan have you got the xb and new forged to demo at Howley? Or when can we get a fitting for these
