I didn't realise Rory always hit the fairway so this is a bit disingenuous, even if you took this into account, you didn't play any from deep trouble, as happens at least a few times in his rounds. You mustn't have been watching him in the Dubai Desert Classic over the past 4 days!!! Genuinely disappointed for the ultra clickbaity title.

Very interesting and enjoyable experiment Matt. As you said in the video, having the benefit of Rory’s drive did put your short game and putting under pressure. On the 9th did you aim your wedge shot to the right of the hole? Looking at where your ball ended, you could have benefited from going at the flag?
Another point of evidence for needing a great short game to go low! Whats crazy is your short game wasn’t even bad, the pros are just that good

I have the same problem when I play in Texas Scrambles. I am constantly having to hit shots that I don't practice or have in a regular round. How many of us amateurs actually have 70 yard shots into greens let alone 40 yard wedges. I am more likely to hit a good shot from 100-120 than I am for from 70-40. Why because I hit a lot of shots from that range in my rounds and when I practice. I promise the 40 yard low spinner is not in my wheelhouse. Enjoy the weather Matt.
