In the final round of the 2026 The American Express, Scottie Scheffler shot a 6-under 66 to finish at 27-under par, becoming the second fastest player to claim his 20th PGA TOUR victory.

The PGA TOUR returns to the United States’ mainland for one of its longest-standing events as The American Express gets underway in the Coachella Valley, welcoming what may be the strongest field in the tournament’s history. World No. 1 and reigning Player of the Year Scottie Scheffler headlines the action, making his long-awaited season debut, and immediately raises the stakes as the TOUR settles into its early rhythm. He’s joined by a star-studded cast that includes his best friend Sam Burns, Patrick Cantlay, Ludvig Åberg and Ben Griffin, alongside a deep mix of major champions, elite world-ranked players and emerging contenders eager to take advantage of the famously low-scoring conditions. With three courses in play and Aon Swing 5 points on the line, early FedExCup momentum is up for grabs as players look to position themselves for the season’s first Signature Events. Defending champion Sepp Straka returns aiming to buck history and repeat in the desert, while the Pete Dye Stadium Course once again sets the stage for a shootout that blends pristine desert scenery with one of the TOUR’s most player-friendly tests.

  1. Never thought we'd see an era like Tiger's again, and it's happening so soon. The Scottie era continues.

  2. This victory has secured him as a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame. 20 PGA Tour victories is like achieving 3,000 hits or strikeouts in baseball or 25,000 career points in the NBA.

  3. Never seen a more dominant player be less exciting. Scotty is a great dude no doubt but it seems like he’s being held hostage by his talent.

  4. He could’ve been the worst putter on the course that day, and it would not have mattered. I mean he was 3 feet away from the hole almost every time

  5. Sometimes I wonder what it feels like to game P7TW's like Scottie but then I realize even Rory moved to P7CB's.

  6. Wow, 20 wins for Scottie in a little over four years. Half of his wins are repeats – Masters, Players, Jack's Memorial, Arnie's Invitational, and the WM Phoenix. Crazy stats. Hopefully he wins the US Open this year for the career grand slam. It couldn't happen to a nicer guy and an absolute gentleman.

  7. It wasn't Blade's day but he's definitely arrived. He did however finish 1st in GIR. Looking forward to seeing him take off on the PGAT.
