As brutal winter weather engulfs much of the United States, hitting the links is currently a daydream for many avid players. But it doesn’t have to be.
Simulator golf is becoming more and more popular as the sport grows and the tee times dry up. Especially for those of us who must suffer through the annual offseason (otherwise known as winter), simulator golf is becoming a great way to keep your game sharp and swing dialed in throughout the cold and snowy months. If you fall in that category, Five Iron Golf is the place to be.
Not only does Five Iron Golf offer simulator sessions, club fittings, swing evaluations and even intro-to-golf lessons for beginners, they also have an exciting event for golfers looking to get their competitive fix. Five Iron Golf is reviving a storied golf tournament that began in 1937 and was hosted by Bing Crosby. Most golf fans today know it as the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, but back then, it was the Bing Crosby National Pro-Am, more commonly known as the Crosby Clambake.
The Crosby Clambake x Five Iron Golf collab lets players drop themselves into the origins of the famous event. Here’s how it works:
Members of Five Iron Golf or drop-ins renting a session on a Trackman simulator complete a 9-hole qualifying round from Jan. 12-31. The top five men and top five women advance to a Pro-Am finals round on the simulated Pebble Beach Golf Links from Feb. 9–20, paired with a Five Iron Golf professional. The remaining top 80 percent of participants compete in a consolation tournament.
The winner receives a full Pebble Beach golf experience, which includes three rounds of golf — one of them being at Pebble Beach Golf Links — as well as a three-night stay at The Inn at Spanish Bay and access to the Player’s Cup Welcome Party and Awards Dinner, along with a shopping experience and daily breakfast credits. It’s quite the haul, and all you have to do is show up to a Five Iron Golf location near you and fire up the simulator.
With 36 locations across the U.S., including New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston and Las Vegas, among others, Five Iron Golf is revolutionizing the simulator golf experience. Check it out today and tee it up at Pebble Beach.
