I wanted to post here about golfing in Japan with Angel Tourism since I had a great time and asked how could I leave a review for the company. They recommended to make a post on Reddit and so here I am making this post!
I had a really great time and everything was super smooth when it came to planning 2 days of back to back golf last month during my honeymoon.
I've been to Japan 3 times including this last time I went and I really wanted to golf. I'm so happy that I can say I've golfed in Japan now!
Angel Tourism's owner Toshi-san arranged everything itinerary wise to a very accurate timeframe and to be honest I thought the price was pretty reasonable considering pretty much all of golf in Japan requires Japanese and at least 2 people to book it.
I played Olympic Country Club (we had to make a pivot from another course due to some unforeseen circumstances) and Dai Atsugi Country Club.
Of the two I definitely like Dai Atsugi more since it had the classic 2 greens per hole that apparently is classic Japanese golf course design. As well as I thought Dai Atsugi had several very peculiar holes with design I haven't really seen before.
The pace was slow (5-6 hours), but it was a couple days before New Years, so a lot of Japanese people take the week off since it's one of the few holidays that people actually stop working.

Good lord… I’m on the way
This is quite effective advertising. Take my money
What was the round cost?
That tonkatsu looks amazing
5 to 6 hour round for golf is brutal. Are you walking or in buggies?
If you ever go back I’d highly recommend Higashi Fuji country club.
I’ve lived here for 2 years now and golfed all over the Shizuoka, Tokyo, Kanagawa and Yamanashi prefectures.
It has phenomenal views of Mt. Fuji on multiple tee boxes, it’s right next to the Fuji speedway and one of the best courses in the area by far.
Is the 5-6 hour round including the required stop in between nines for lunch? I think I saw some video of a guy in japan that said they require you to stop in between the nines to eat before proceeding. If that’s just raw pace of play that’s brutal, but pretty scenery at least.
That’s not a hot dog
Fun fact — Japan has the second most golf courses in the world behind the United States. Impressive considering its size. I thought it would be China.
no turn dog?
Played in the Pyrenees of France a few years on grass that looked like that. They were going thru a drought and couldn’t water the grass.
Worst most enjoyable round I’ve ever played.
Stopped keeping score on the back 9.
Grass might as well have been concrete tbh. I’d lay up on a shot thinking I’m playing it safe and the ball would just keep rolling like it was an extra in that movie Rubber.
Didn’t help anything my buddy’s family was all from France and they kept trying to tell me how many meters away from the pin I was. So, I was basically eye balling it the whole time.
Fuckin’ frogs, man. I tell ya.
Don’t even get me started on the greens. Putting on glass would have been easier tbh. 🥲
But the viewsssss. Holy shit. It was a beautiful course.
