Is the Krabi Golf Scene as Bad as They Say? | Pakasai Country Club Krabi 🇹🇭

When the golf itch hits, it doesn’t care if you’re on a family holiday.

In this video, I’m playing Pakasai Country Club in Krabi Province, one of the very few real golf options available if you’re traveling in southern Thailand. While Krabi is an incredible mainland beach destination, it’s definitely not a golfer’s paradise — which makes Pakasai an interesting case. Is it worth squeezing in a round while you’re here? Let’s find out.

I walk you through the reality of golfing in Krabi: limited course options, budget-friendly pricing, and what you should realistically expect from course conditions, facilities, and caddies. Pakasai is a 41-year-old parkland-style course with narrow fairways, elevation changes you don’t often see around Bangkok, and conditions that can vary depending on the season. Playing during the drier months added extra challenge, especially when missed shots disappeared into dry leaves and rough.

We also talk honestly about budget golf in Thailand — where Pakasai sits value-wise, how it compares to nine-hole options like Hula Hula, and why it still attracts plenty of players during high season. I share my thoughts on the greens, fairways, pricing (green fee, caddy, and cart), and the charm of playing with local caddies on more rural courses.

If you’re planning a golf trip to Krabi or southern Thailand, this video gives you the context most guides don’t — including what’s coming next with a new 18-hole course being built near Krabi Town.

If you enjoy honest golf course reviews, real golf travel advice, and discovering lesser-known courses in Thailand, you’re in the right place.

  1. Hello, that looked like a very nice golf course. I like the trees there and how they frame some of the fairways. Greens looks great too. And my guess is that it was very quiet there. So should have been a very relaxing experience. Cheers

  2. That's a nice looking course, very easy on the eyes. Beautiful trees and a simple club house. If the shower is good that is all you need. The downhill par 3 is amazing. Nice drone shots too. I land on the 7th of March for 3 weeks and 16 rounds if you have some free time. River Kwai for a week and Hua Hin for 2 weeks.

  3. Haven’t played golf since the end of October. I don’t have an itch to play, I have a full on rash

  4. Thank you for the review I'm in Krabi now and will pass golfing till I arrive to Phuket and play red mountain golf club
