  1. The amount of times I see people outside of football be disrespecting Paul Scholes is crazy. But every great player from that generation always says Paul Scholes was the best. Top player

  2. Scholes, Gerrard, Lampard debate… there’s only one winner for me. Without Scholes United wouldn’t have won half as many titles as they did during the 90s-2000s. Best player to have put on a United shirt in my lifetime.

  3. 99% of the time Scholes didn't do anything truly amazing. He didn't really dribble. His passing was routine. He was slow, undersized, not a great engine, terrible tackler, pig awful defensively. But just when you thought he was bang average he'd ping that 60 yard ball, or produce two or three quick touches, or a weighted through ball between two defenders to the strikers feet, or smash some volley into the net from 40 yards. And eventually you just realise he's not being average the rest of the time, he's just doing what needs to be done, and doing it right.

  4. I think the greatest thing about this podcast (besides Roy and Ian’s bromance) is the new perspective you gain on players you used to hate growing up. As a Utd fan, I never liked Ashley Cole, but he’s actually a pretty sound loud 😂 I’ll be roosting for him in management.

  5. He just plays it down, he's actually embarrassed when people say he was good. That's when you know someone is mustard, when they don't talk about it.

I still talk about goals I scored 20 years ago 😂

  6. Scholes was the best. His skill set was far superior to Gerrard. Thierry Henry mentioned, in his head, he was superior to ther players. He was the one they feared the most and United's dynasty would never exist without Scholes. He was their most important player for 2 decades. In England he is severly underated. The Spanish adore Scholes. If he played in Spain he'd be a God. Guardiola,Xavi, Iniesta, Zidane, Alonso, all said great thing s about Scholes. I remember Jemaine Defoe saying when they were playing for England, Scholes was the only one who didn't need to train. He could come in after 2 weeks and still be better than all thr other players in training. He was just natural.
