The Fort Worth course isn’t the only major golf course development in the area.
FORT WORTH, Texas — A major North Texas golf course development recently reached a big milestone: The opening of a par-3 course.
The Pinkerton 9, designed by highly acclaimed course designer Tom Fazio, recently had its grand opening at the Maverick Golf & Ranch Club, a 1,100-acre development that will ultimately include an 18-hole championship course and a 12-hole course. The championship course is expected to open this fall.
The course is located near Chapin School Road and U.S. 377 in southwest Fort Worth, just south of Interstate 20.
Fazio called the par-3 course a “shot-maker’s paradise without the time commitment of a full round.”
“At Maverick, we used the natural changes in landscape to create highly playable holes that will challenge the accomplished golfer while still welcoming the beginner,” Fazio said. “It truly sets the stage for the championship course to come.”

Maverick Golf & Ranch Club is being developed by Discovery Land Company, which also has golf courses in the Bahamas (Baker’s Bay), Idaho (Gozzer Ranch), Nevada (Summit) and an array of other locations, from California to Montana and Scotland.
The Fort Worth course isn’t the only major golf course development in the area.
Golf legend Tiger Woods designed the course for the Bluejack Ranch club, which is currently under construction in the nearby Aledo area. Bluejack Ranch is expected to open sometime in 2026.
