Nice
Hey man, I always see a ton of negative comments on your videos from these “couch coaches” and more than likely high handicap golfers. Because the best golfers I’ve ever been around aren’t trying offer unsolicited advice. The only ones trying to force advice down your throat are the ones that are trash. But I just wanted to say I do appreciate your videos and they are very helpful and answer so many questions about the golf swing especially if you watch the whole video and listen to the “how” and “why” of Dana’s explanations. People don’t understand that your videos are basically them getting a free lesson from Dana. Because no matter how different the golf swing varies from each individual the golf swing still has basic principles, movements, and positions that majority great golfers follow no matter how different their swing looks compared to the next guy. Keep up the good work because it definitely helps golfers like myself you want to get better.
You can tell he’s pretty annoyed with all your detail questions 😂
I wonder if us hackers could turn the lead foot in rather than flare it out so that the femur would get a head start turning inward? Seems like a lot to think about moving the heel out in a split second downswing. Great info, thank you
Horrible watch
This is total opposite from your lesson with Mike Wydra 2 years ago. If you keep flip flopping to the next shiny object how can you improve. Should have stuck with Mike
I'm not sure if those clubs are too heavy for you or something, but your swing doesn't look as aesthetic.
Your swing was beautiful not that long ago, but now it looks like you are using a lot of effort to swing the club?
It's always the same on the range: After a great shot, we all hit a stinky shot… 😅
It seemed like you were hitting the ball best with Chris Mason. Mind if I ask why you abandoned that simple swing system?
I doubt you needed to switch to these clubs. With your swing being what it is, the game improvement clubs give you a larger margin of error. Forged clubs with a smaller head are great at making this game ABSOLUTELY MISERABLE when your swing isn't perfect.
this is rage bait at this point. you're so in your head you cant even play golf anymore.
What a fantastic lesson! Key takeaways for me: 1) the momentum of the backswing loads and retracts the right shoulder (contra all those who advocate keeping the "hands in front of the chest") and 2) the lead femur needs to rotate internally in the downswing! Never heard that before – just fooling around with that feels like magic!
As somebody who takes the club too far inside and tends to hit a draw or the unfortunate hook from time to time. This is a great lesson and I learned a lot from it. Thx!
Dana finally addresses his paralysis by analysis!
I've been working on keeping the club more in front of me rather than taking it in. It feels so weird but the width you can create is insane.
One problem with golf is you can't think about the swing as it happens, with the intent to react to a thought, you can only feel the swing using the hind brain also referred to as the reptilian brain. If you are thinking you are sinking, is what I say
So, practice swing or waggle whatever, then fire, without thinking about it.
"The reptilian brain, also known as the reptilian complex, is the most primitive part of the human brain, responsible for basic survival instincts and autonomic functions". To that I would add finish balanced and hold for a few seconds.
Very cool video!
What’s the deal with touching back everytime
‘The simple key for a repeatable golf swing’ – dammit it’s a 30 minute vid.
Please just provide one quick simple key to solve EVERYTHING. Is that so hard? 😅
retract the right shoulder, swing out to the right and go with the flow. that is money like he said.
All these coaches are fantastic! Such incredible content. Best there is on YouTube! Keep up with the grind. Wouldn't mind seeing some other coaches and their approach to striking and consistency. The more coaches the better!!
good video but I don't know why people think they need a musical interlude.
Loves to say “got it”
Same lesson 2 years later … “got it”
Appreciate how consistently you bring value—always learn something here.
Very interesting – I am 63 with a 5 hc (been playing 53 yrs but still want to get better) and going through a swing change because, in video, I lift my arms, throw my right hip in downswing and therefore flip hands – my thoughts for next steps are not dissimilar to your journey – rotate more, push hips back and rotate …. thank you for visuals hehe, BTW I still use my Mizuno TP 18's (tour blades) because the feedback is awesome
