maybe its me, but you just can convince me, every year they come out with best driver ever….it's all in their marketing. Spend $700 one year, then 8 months later "this is our best driver ever" the changes can't be that drastic to convince me to spend another $700. I am still in a Titleist TsR3.

The weights on the std model are similar to pxg. I buy the pxg because I love the adjustability. As my swing changes I'm able to readjust the waiting and keep my distance. I would buy a pxg Black ops on sale at the new model is out. Plus with pxg you get OEM shafts versus the TaylorMade spec shafts that cost $50. So you don't need to upgrade. Big difference.

I out drive most people and usually in the fairway so going to stick with my Cobra S2 which is antique these days
But loving my Cleveland zipcord irons which I just switched to, and retired my 30 year old irons but I still have my old 1 iron because you cannot buy a 1 iron these days
And therein lies the beauty. When fitted properly you can build a custom driver to maximize performance, if you don't have a good fitter or you're playing around with the weights, you can manage to make it completely unplayable. Find a good fitter and trust them.
