Tournament co-host Min Woo Lee has predicted a fiery Royal Fremantle Golf Club layout for the second edition of Webex Players Series Perth starting tomorrow.

Mount Lawley Golf Club local Jordan Doull returns as defending champion, edging fellow West Australian Haydn Barron at the second playoff hole in what was a thrilling tournament entry onto the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia.

Hosted by former Royal Fremantle juniors Minjee and Min Woo Lee, Webex Players Series Perth brings together the top players from the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia and the WPGA Tour of Australasia and incorporates the Webex Junior Players Series and Webex All Abilities Players Series across the weekend.

Minjee and Min Woo will both be interested spectators across the four days, the younger sibling impressed by the condition of a golf course that he has played since following in his sister’s footsteps some 20 years ago.

“I played it yesterday and it was very firm,” said Min Woo, who earned a first PGA Tour win in 2025 at the Texas Children’s Hospital Open. “It seems to happen when there’s a tournament here, it plays a little different to when we’re at home and playing.

“It is firm. It is firm. I’ve probably never seen it this firm before. Even chipping around the greens, it rolls out and it plays very different.

“It’s going to be exciting. And I think it’s going to be windy too. So probably the best ball-striker will come out on top, I think.”

Minjee was on hand 12 months ago to present trophies to the three winners and is excited to see how the tournament will grow in 2026.

“Obviously it was the inaugural year, so I didn’t really know what to expect, but it was such a great turnout,” she said. “I’m sure it’s going to be even better this year.

“For Min Woo also to be here, I think it will be extra special that we get to experience it together. That’s going to be a lot of fun.”

The highest-placed player on the Order of Merit in the field this week, James Marchesani tied for fifth last year and had a tournament-high of 25 birdies across the four rounds.

Kirsten Rudgeley was the 54-hole leader in the inaugural tournament before narrowly missing the playoff and comes in ranked No.136 on the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.

The final two rounds will be broadcast live on Kayo Sports and Fox Sports 503 through Foxtel. Round 3 will be broadcast live from 4pm-7pm (AEDT) on Saturday and Round 4 from 2pm-7pm (AEDT) on Sunday.
