Nearly two years after he first revealed his gold shoes at Philly’s Sneaker Con, Donald Trump is still churning out the footwear.
And his latest drop is both an eye-catcher and a billfold breaker.
Head on over to GetTrumpSneakers.com, and there’s an advertisement featuring Trump sitting on an oversized golden high-top sneaker with an American flag design on the ankle. And, sewn into the side of the shoe is, “Trump 2028.”
Trump, of course, is prohibited by the Constitution from running for a third term as president, but he has repeatedly flirted with the idea of doing so anyway. For what it’s worth, there is a statement regarding that on the site right below the photo of the shoes.
“President Donald J. Trump is constitutionally barred from running for a third term,” it reads. “Our pesky lawyers advised us to nevertheless point out the fact the sale of these sneakers is not a campaign activity. PLUS, YOU CAN’T BLAME US FOR HOPING AND DREAMING!”
If all of that didn’t raise an eyebrow — Trump fans likely love it while Trump haters surely don’t — the price might.
Folks can pre-order the “Trump 2028” shoes for the low, low price of $799. Order two pairs and you can save a bundle, getting them both for just $999.
The site claims that only 1,000 red pairs of shoes will be made, and 1,000 black pairs will be made. It says there is a limit of two pair per family.
If those are just too expensive for you, though, there’s good news. There are all kinds of Trump shoes on the site now. A pair of Trump slides go for just $149, and there are a pair of Trump 45 shoes that each sell for $199.
There are also golden Trump golf shoes that run for $499.
And the president has footwear for the ladies, too.
There’s a “Trump First Lady” sneaker in lavender on the site for $299 and a low-top pink Trump sneaker that goes for $199.
So, for the mega MAGA Trump fans out there with a nice chunk of disposable cash, there is plenty opportunity to add to your shoe collection.
