Fire Engulfs Golf Course Clubhouse Outside of London
The clubhouse at West Essex Golf Club caught fire in a scary scene outside London.
On Monday, flames erupted from the clubhouse of West Essex Golf Club in London. Thankfully, the local fire department has said that all staff are accounted for and no one sustained any injuries. Still, this isn’t how the New Year should start.
The public has been urged to stay away from the area as crews continue to fight the blaze.
The clubhouse was opened in 1989 by Sir Michael Bonallak OBE, Britain’s most-decorated amateur golfer and former Captain and Secretary of The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, who passed away in September 2023.
As for the golf course, it was founded in 1900 and designed by James Braid. Its elevated position provides golfers with incredible views of the Epping Forest and London skyline.
