Just ordered everything and getting ready to start the setup. I have an enclosure (~12′ W × 19.5′ D × just under 10′ H), two 5×4 hitting mats for LH/RH swings, and a 4-ft camera slide rail to mount my Garmin R10 and slide it between hitting positions.

I’ll be using a 10×10 impact screen (may skip the cage) and rechargeable lights to keep it portable. Hoping this works for full driver swings—if not, I may raise the setup slightly. Long term I might add a Square and keep the R10 mainly for range sessions.

Setup coming soon—open to any tips or feedback.

Tried this. It’s cool for a bit but you’ll get frustrated as hell unless you have perfectly even ground like a concrete patio. Had a pretty windy day in San Antonio last year and it screwed it all up. Bugs are a nuisance I didn’t anticipate, found a nice wasp nest inside the cooling vents of my projector. All the wiring going out to the sim was a pain as well. After everything I ended up putting it in my garage and accepting that my low ceiling means iron only practice and I’m ok with it. Too much money in electronics to keep it outside and it is not a burden to move it all the time.

I do basically this and it’s great. Just got inside after a couple rounds while it was pouring rain as well. It’s definitely tall enough for a full driver swing. Mine is 9 feet wide and I hit off center into an 8×8 screen.

The other poster talking about bugs had a point though. Not really an issue where I live so much, but I do take my laptop, launch monitor, and projector into the house after each session. Only takes ~3 minutes to set them up each time.

I got photo 5, works great and the “hitting screen” section holds up really well.

Will your screen and swing fit considering it’s only 118” in the middle and sloping down either side?

Unless you want joint injuries, I highly recommend a hitting strip like the Softy.
