Could you speak a bit to the notion of short thumb as opposed to long thumb. I've always noticed that your grip is what most would call long thumb on the lead hand.
This aid is perfect for keeping the lead wrist "Flat" at the top of the swing. As you said in the video. This has helped me make consistent and solid contact since using it.
