Getting close to finishing my build, and looking for some input on a floor projector. Screen is 8'x8', and would ideally sit 4-6' from the screen as I've been hitting from around 9'. Looking at the BenQ AH500ST and Optoma ZH400ST. Does anyone have experience with these or any other suggestions? Would like to be at least 4k lumens as I'd like to be able to play with the garage doors open. Any input is appreciated.

Get one with horizontal offset so you can set it up on the side
I have a floor mounted projector around that distance. (vivitek wxga). I think you have a larger budget. In any case, it sits about a foot or two in front of my lead foot (left foot) and I don’t notice it at all. Looks great, fits my space, etc.
Did you buy that 8×8 or did you make it? Either way, pass a link please. That is exactly what I am looking for.
My garage screen is about 9’ wide and I stand 9-10’ feet away from the screen. I tried a floor projector but one of the issues I ran into is relevant for you: the floor enclosures that can be found online are big and conflicted with my mat. Hard to place without a fully level surface all the way to the screen.
I ended up mounting a ceiling projector (BenQ AK700ST) to one of my ceiling joists and have been really happy with the placement and picture quality.
