A decade ago, before I was used to playing with others and oils get nervous when people watched, I was a 10.2 HCP and went ad low as 78 on a hard course, playing it down. Anyway, as a single, I caught a group who offered me to play through, saying they saw me hitting all day and weren’t worried about holding them up. I topped the ball. They said put down another. I did, as I wasn’t keeping a score anyway. Topped another. Put a third down quickly and hit it which hooked OB. I thanked them and went to an open hole to cry inside.
