(Plus the most “talented” arms in NFL history, along with a few of the best throws from my career)

This video is exactly what it sounds like! Let’s learn how to throw a football (or anything else)

I was lucky to have a ton of incredible coaches and mentors throughout my career, and this is the simplest explanation of everything that I learned. It worked for me, but it’s the same principles you can use all the way down to pee-wee rec leagues.

And keep an eye out for my upcoming video with @veritasium on their channel.

  1. Who's this guy lol, he has NO idea what hes talking about. Trust me, I played football in England this is rubbish, youre not even allowed to touch the ball with your hands

  2. Tom, I’m a retired physician (anesthesiologist and pain specialist) and of course a huge Tom Brady fan. This is one of the best videos I”ve ever seen on such a great fundamental skill (throwing the football) I’ve ever seen. I learned a lot, and really appreciated the “No Bull” shirt and attitude of the video. It got right to it. Thank you, and I’m a new subscriber, of course.

  3. Most talented arms in history? I think you are forgetting someone. Go watch some tape on John Elway. You want to talk about a cannon? Guys talk about bruised chests and broken fingers catching those passes! Definitely a GREAT!

  4. I wish I had seen more in what you do with your hands. Where to hold the ball. How to release it. I wish my small ass hands could do/be better.

  5. Kinda petty to leave Mahomes out of the list of best arms of all time. That arm threw for 5000 yards and 50 TDs in a single season

  6. Imagine being the current undisputed GOAT and give overseas guys whose countries do not consider football as a sport at all, such lessons

  7. Something i've always found interesting is how brady always pats the ball before throwing. I'm definitely not a quarterback, i don't even really play football but i've found myself copying that when i do throw a football without even realizing why haha

  8. First thing to do, and this is important, you must deflate the ball. I mean take the air out so it's easier to grip in the cold and snow.

  9. Tom, I bet you couldn't play in the CFL for a full season, at your age, NFL yes, CFL No! Because you can't run! And those receivers couldn't catch the short bullet passes. ( CFL)

  10. I think Tom will tell you the throw to Gadsden trailed high because of velocity. The penalty on Still when the receiver ran into him. No merit on that false flag for Still.

  11. Brett Favre being top 5?? Come on, Tom. Not to say Favre wasn't a great even legendary QB, but at times the dude could barely hit the broad side of a barn lol

  12. How did he miss Elway’s arm as not being one of the best? Elway had just retired on top as Brady came in it’s not like he’s too young to remember him.

  13. A skill that really means NOTHING in the grand scheme of things. Wish I hadn’t wasted so much time on football. Learn to make a difference in the lives of others.

  14. This is something that should be taught in phys ed, but such skills are not taught. They prefer dodgeball, or useless games that just waste time. They don't even show anyone how to actually throw a dodgeball. Same with baseball. When I coached Little League, there were so many kids who didn't know how to throw. When I coached, I emphasized fundamentals in football and baseball.

  15. It’s wild being a Raiders fan since I was 8 or 10, now at 44, and seeing Tom Brady—of all people—wearing a Raiders hat. From the Tuck Rule heartbreak to him becoming a minority owner… never would’ve imagined that.
