Over the Christmas period the Lakes Entrance Golf Club may have hosted a couple of less competition days, but the course has still been busy with members and guests hitting the fairways.
Last Saturday, the club hosted a medley stableford event attracting a staggering 134 players from throughout the region, many holiday in the seaside paradise.
The event was won by popular “D” grade player Robyn Downing on countback, with an sensational score of 42 points.
Long-hitting veteran, Shane Sproule, took “A” grade with 39 points, Ian McKenna “B” grade with an impressive 40 points, while Wes Coad led the field home in “C” grade with 38 points.
The high scoring of the event, meant Margaret McManus (42) and Rhonda Beckett (40) were rewarded with only a ball.
Better luck for Hayden Burgiel, Gary Morrison, McKenna and David Cavanagh, picking up six balls each for eagles.
