Tournament Info
LITCHFIELD PARK, ARIZONA – UT Tyler senior women’s golfer Arnie Taguines closed out The Patriot All-America at The Wigwam Arizona in 68th place at 18 over par for the three rounds.
Taguines represented UT Tyler in the prestigious amateur event that honors fallen or wounded members of the United States Armed Forces throughout the week. Taguines carried a bag that represented U.S. Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel Christopher K. Raible.
Raible was killed in the line of duty while helping protect Camp Bastion from insurgents in Afghanistan. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with Valor Device and the Purple Heart Meritorious Service Medal for his efforts serving his country.
Taguines shot rounds of 76 and 79 over her first two rounds before responding with a 73 on the final day, her lowest round of the event. She made one birdie and 10 pars in round one on her way to a 76, and then followed that up seven pars and two birdies on her way to a 79 in round two. Round three saw her make two birdies and 11 pars to shoot 73.
She will now join the Patriots as they take on The Southern Invite on February 16 and 17 to kick off their spring slate. That event will be hosted by Central Oklahoma in Spring, Texas.
