  1. No team of todays era can matchup The Celtics bad boy pistons showtime lakers & Dominique and the hawks.. and the ultimately the bulls

  2. You can’t tell any of these soft players today because they don’t realize how soft they are. I quit watching basketball because it has gotten so soft it’s like I m watching a bunch of females on the court.

  3. I don’t think people understand under certain rules and regulations you had move restrictions in the old times can you imagine them in this free moving era it would be madness every 5 – 10 years everything loosens up and it’s more free movement in everything not just sports so imagine the athletes in the past who broke barriers in this time they going nuts

  4. If Larry Bird played today, an entire healthy 18-20 season career, he'd retire as the GOAT.

  5. Bird would have eaten these youngsters alive like having breakfast. With no hand checking n so much space. N while his trash talking would hurt the kids mentally breakdown

  6. The Hick from French Lick would be the best American born player by a mile today. 6’10” with his skillset is insane. He’s a suped up Luka that can guard, pass and rebound better than

  7. imagine thinking KAT could do anything vs Bird 😂 no disrespect to my boy KAT but he would get smoked so bad he would start balding

  8. Larry would easily average 40-plus a game. No hand checking and no hard fouls…he would have an absolute field day and these modern-day players. It would not even be a contest. He would be the league MVP every year. He made HOF players look stupid out on the court. He also carried more players into the HOF than any other player in NBA history. All those old school superstars of the NBA would completely dominate the league today even more than they did in their own era. The lack of physicality in today's game would let them run wild. Can you imagine someone like Dr. J playing with today's lack of defense. Half the league would have had that NBA ball logo tattooed on their forehead from him dunking on their head.

  9. Imagine Luka or Jokic but better. Way better. Way way better. And vicious. So vicious that hall of famers would rather foul out than play defense on him.

That’s why lebron and Luka and Shai will never be Legend. Larry is Legend.

  10. Larry played in the most physical era the leagues had. I know everyone remembers (or has at least knowledge of), Magic winning the national championship over Larry. Magic had a flat out LOADED Michigan State Spartan squad. Magic, Greg Kelser (#4 NBA lottery pick), Jay Vincent (#24 NBA draft pick), & 5 more guys that got drafted in the 3rd through 8th rounds that never made NBA squads. Indiana State had Larry, Carl Nicks who was the 23rd pick in the NBA draft & Alex Gilbert who was drafted in the 6th round & never made it in the league. Larry led that ISU club to 33-0 including tournament wins over Sidney Moncriefs Arkansas Razorbacks & Mark Aguirre’s DePaul club before loosing the title game to Michigan State. Rookie of the year voting Magic & Larry’s 1st NBA season: Larry ROY with 63 1sts to Magics 2nd place finish with 3 1st place votes. Larry was also 4th in league MVP voting that 1st year. It’s the lowest he’d place in MVP until his 10th year. Larry’s 2nd, 3rd, & 4th years he was 2nd in the MVP race. He then won 3 straight MVP’s. He then finished 3rd & finally 2nd again to close out his 1st 9 years. (4,2,2,2,1,1,1,3,2)!!! In that same span he led the league in defensive win shares 4 times & shot 50/40/90 twice! He’s the only non Power Forward / non Center to ever lead the league in defensive win shares more than 1 time. He did so 4 times. He was also the 1st person to ever shoot 50/40/90 for a year when he accomplished the feat (in B2B years no less). He dealt with far greater competition in the East than LA had to deal with out in the West most of the 80’s decade. The 76ers of the early 80’s were loaded & they went to 3 finals in 4 years from 80-83. (Dr. J, Moses Malone, & 5 more guys that were multi time All NBA 1st team defenders each! They would’ve went to 4 straight finals had it not been for Larry leading Boston back from the 1-3 series home against them in the 81’ ECF. The other club he and the Celtics had to deal with were the late 80’s Pistons who went to 3 straight finals from 88-90. There were 3 East teams to win an NBA title in the 80’s. There was only 1 West team to do so. Two of the East teams that won NBA titles did so while sweeping Magic & Kareem’s Lakers in the finals. 83’ Philly & 89’ Detroit. Boston also beat LA for a title in the decade 84’. Houston made 2 finals in the decade but lost both to Boston. 81’ & 86’. Teams didn’t have an answer for Larry. He could shoot, rebound, pass, got steals, & competed on every play. Couldn’t foul him as he was a near 90% career foul shooter. (88.4%). The late 80’s Celtics only weakness was a lack of bench depth. Had Len Bias not passed I believe the Celtics go back to back in 86’ & 87’ and they may have made it back to the finals in 88’ with a chance to 3peat. Larry is the only player in NBA history to have career averages with at least 24 points, at least 10 rebounds, & at least 6 assists. No one but Larry has at least each of those for an entire career. Larry’s career averages: 24.3 pts / 10.0 rebounds / 6.3 assists / 1.7 steals. He also averaged 1.7 three point attempts for his career. Imagine if he was taking 4.7 or 5.0 per game like LBJ & KD have in their careers? He’d be a 28.0+ pt per game guy if he shot 3’s at the volume that they’ve shot them. He’d eat this modern NBA alive!

  11. Modern NBA players would have a waaay tougher time adjusting to the much more physical game of the 80’s than most “old timers” would have adjusting to a game that has zero physicality and diving is rewarded.

  12. Disgusting how much they never taken into account the completely different style of the defenses allowed to play.
Larry Bird's Day you go up for a layup and you're three rows deep into the stands and it's just a common foul

  13. It wouldn’t even be close. Bird and Magic would dominate the NBA today. Players today are pussies compared to the greats of 80’s and early 90’s.

  14. They grabbed him and layed all over him and he still got buckets. But he did it with other people involved

  15. Whats crazy to me is do these modern day hoopers not realize the best hooper of this era is Jokic right? Jokic is literally a less athletic Bird! It's insane man. Bird would be Jokic in this era but an even better rebounder! Not to mention his trash talking is next level a whole lot of sensitive mfers in this era would not be ready for that.

  16. They played basketball that people wanted to watch,Ive always loved basketball, and unfortunately I hate to admit it,but todays NBA😴
