TL;DR Broken launch monitor was fixed by replacing cord.
A couple weeks ago I posted about how my Eye Mini Lite had suddenly stopped reporting to the PC. Warranty out of date, and not wanting to buy a new one I figured I’d take an attempt at getting it working again.
My hunch was something with the Ethernet plug they use to connect pc and launch monitor together. I took it apart, and discovered that there’s a small Ethernet cord connecting the port you plug into and the board. To me this seems like a hacky solution, but also I’m not an electronics engineer so what do I know.
I unplugged that cord, plugged my own in and tested it. Yellow light was back, which means it’s actually connected to the pc. Took out the port and ran my own cord from the board through the hole and to the pc.
I believe the port to connect on the outside not directly on the board had failed, I tried replacing the small cord inside with my own and running through the plug on the monitor and it wouldn’t connect.
Either way, we’re back, and I don’t have to buy a new launch monitor.
Also got to clean out the inside that had gathered quite a bit of turf debris in it.
