A 17-year-old boy has been arrested after a police chase through Western Sydney.

Police were patrolling in South Granville when officers spotted a Porsche sedan driving in a suspicious manner at about 9.45pm.

Officers tried to stop the vehicle, but when it failed to do so, a pursuit began that went through multiple suburbs.

The Porsche then crashed through a fence at Woodville golf course in Guilford, where it continued to drive for a short time on the course.

The car stopped a short time later, and a number of passengers fled on foot, while the driver attempted to hide on the golf course in some bushes.

However, with the assistance of police helicopters and the dog squad, he was found and arrested.

A gun was found in the car, and police will allege the number plates on the Porsche were cloned.

The 17-year-old was taken to Parramatta Police Station, where he is assisting police.

Charges are yet to be laid.

A crime scene has been declared, with police commencing an investigation into the incident.
