On Sunday evening, the 2026 TGL season kicked off with Atlanta Driver taking on the New York Golf Club, with the match coming down to the final hole, where Atlanta’s Bill Horschel sealed the deal with a long birdie putt on the final hole.
It was an exciting way to start the season in terms of golf, but it was also a great opportunity to see if any players used the TGL opportunity to debut some new 2026 clubs in competition, and in the case of New York’s Xander Schauffele, he did not disappoint.

New Woods For Xander
From the stadium photography, along with the highlights, we’re able to confirm that Xander put into play not only a new Callaway Quantum driver (mostly likely the Quantum Triple Diamond (TD)), but also a new Quantum fairway wood (also a Triple Diamond) based on the sole markings.
As for the rest of his bag, Xander’s set appeared to be unchanged during match one of the 2026 TGL season, including his putter, which he experimented with for a bit at the end of 2025 official tournament play.

Between these changes for Xander, plus the changes others have made so far this PGA TOUR offseason which included The Skins Game, The Hero World Challenge, the Grant Thornton, and the PNC, it looks like players are switching into 2026 woods faster than almost any year in recent memory. And, pretty soon, were going to find out exactly how these changes pay off come the season kickoff in Hawaii in just a couple of weeks.
