TYLER, TEXAS – UT Tyler senior golfer Arnie Taguines has earned an invite to the prestigious Patriot All-America at The Wigwam in Arizona.
 
The event sees 84 men and 72 women playing 54 holes in a stroke play tournament while honoring military heroes. Each golfer receives and carries a commemorative PING golf bag that bears the name and branch of a fallen or wounded hero. Additionally, all golfers visit Luke Air Force Base where they meet with the Base Commander, fighter pilots and crew, and tour the base in activities rarely seen by civilians.
 
To be eligible for selection, players have to meet one of eight requirements, including:
 
a) Finished in the top 5 of last year’s Patriot All-America and top 3 of the Thunderbolt
b) 2025 collegiate golfers named to PING or WGCA All-America teams: Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, and NJCAA
c) 2025 First-Team AJGA All-America currently enrolled as freshmen in GCAA member institutions
d) Invited members of U.S. Service Academy Golf Teams
e) 2025 members of national teams including the GCAA Palmer Cup and the Walker Cup
f) Winners of the Jack Nicklaus, Ben Hogan, Arnold Palmer, Phil Mickelson awards

g) Champions of the US Amateur, British Amateur, Asia-Pacific Amateur, Latin America Amateur Championship, European Amateur, and the Japan Collegiate Championship, as well as The R&A Student Tour Series Order of Merit winner and special invitations.

Taguines begins her tournament at 10:50 a.m. local time in Arizona on the 10th tee of the Blue Course at The Wigwam. She will then get re-paired tomorrow for her second round before the final round of action on Wednesday.
 
She will represent Marine Corps LtCol Christopher K. Raible on her bag throughout the week.
