A remodelled golf course is set to open in the summer as part of the multimillion-pound redevelopment of a Guernsey country club.

The greens and fairways at La Grande Mare in Castel were set to open in August 2026 once they were “well-established”, the company said.

A golf performance centre opened at the club in November for players to hone their game and work started to remodel the golf course in April 2023.

The framework of the country club has been erected and would house attractions including a gym, 25m swimming pool, restaurant and function rooms, bosses said.

Operations manager Fay Boyd said: “It’s fantastic to see a glimpse of what the building will look like once complete.

She added: “Work will soon commence on making the structure wind and water tight.”

She said golfers need to wait until August to play on the 18-hole golf course.

“While the work on the course has finished, the vastness of the remodelling means that the whole course has to settle.”
