Felt like I didn’t know how to play on the front 9 and then proceeded to hit every fairway and green on the back. Have never broken par on 9 until now.

    That’s some difference in 9s.

As a 9 handicap I can honestly say the 49 happens way more often than the 34. (I don’t think I’ve ever had a 34 for 9 holes)

Cougar is crazy easy. As you settle down, you realize every single hole is a birdie hole. I had a very similar round there.

I hate gambling as a 10. Seems unfair sometimes

All I can see is that it’s not even 10 AM and you’ve already finished 18. What time did you tee off and how fast did you play? Jealous.

As a 12 index I have never been anywhere near a 34 nine. Holy hell that is good.

I’m a 6 and shot 91 the other week and then 77 this past Friday. It’s maddening, but that’s just golf.

Recently went 51/33 over here. Play off 8.

I’m under a 3, and the variability in scores is still real. Can follow up a 73 with a score in the mid 80s and worse. The lion’s share of my scores fall within 75-81, but the outliers on both sides are there as well. I guess you have to take the good with the bad is the lesson the golf gods want to teach us. Or else they want to teach us about bell curves.

Much easier to raise the skill ceiling than it is to lift up the floor

I had a similar round a few days ago (50-37) to barely break 80. Played horrible on the front on a course I had never played before that had lots of blind shots. Finally found it on the back. Yours was even more impressive closing with 2 birdies. Nice 👍 good way to carry into 2026
