Can I Break 72 at New Jersey’s Most INTIMIDATING Course?
Breaking 72 at Union League National – Jake Stoutland Golf
Join me, Jake Stoutland, as I tee it up at Union League National, the bold new centerpiece of New Jersey golf along the Jersey Shore. In this on-course vlog I chase par (and a bit of history) while sharing insider facts about how this modern golf course was sculpted from sandy barrens into towering dunes.
What you’ll see:
• Shot-by-shot strategy on every hole
• Flyovers capturing the dramatic Fry/Straka redesign
• Tips for tackling wind, waste areas, and those undulating greens
• Fun side notes on the club’s Union League heritage and local legends

I like seeing your father tee off along with parts of him interacting and playing. looking forward to seeing more of him on channel. Super like!
Loved this one. Haven’t had the chance to play there yet
yeah idk if this course is my style, I prefer classical architecture. Seems like too much.
Solid round!! Way to stay focused.
Being a golf amenity member since Day 1 when UL took over SB. I still have photos from the round I played November 15, 2017 when it was still Sand Barrens. You need to come back and play Sherman 9.
Would be great if you could play Whitford CC!
Another gem in NJ. PV meets Tobacco Road
We don’t care what you shoot, just highlight the course
are these bunkers all waste areas? Cause at 2:17 something happened
I am a member at Union League National, your dad was right about the putting line on Meade 3 (your twelfth hole) You can send the ball away from the pin and it will ride that valley all the way back to the pin.
For those unfamiliar with the course, it used to be Sand Barrens, a public golf course with three separate nines. They were called the North course South course and the West course. The Union League club in Philadelphia was formed to support Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War in 1862. When the club bought the course they invested millions in a renovation and then renamed the nines for Union generals from the Civil War. The West course became Grant because Ulysses S Grant built his reputation out west during the Civil War. The north course was renamed Meade because he was the general in charge at Gettysburg, the northernmost battle of the Civil War. I’m sure you’ll remember from your history books Sherman’s March to the sea, and so the south course became Sherman.
24:27 great shot, player 2
More intimidating than Pine Valley? Doubt it
i'm fortunate enough to have played here 2x with a friend of mine who is a member. man, i remember when it was sand barrens. it was a hidden gem 20 years ago. it's just unreal to know what the course was like back then to what it is now. the difference is just night and day. i don't even want to know how much money was put into this place lol!
I’d think that Pine Valley is NJ’s most intimidating course.
This place is amazing been lucky enough to play it live a block away when you step on the course you forget your in southern NJ I was able to watch the incredible transformation from Sand Barons to UL massive undertaking. Very challenging green complex!!!!!
You should definitely do an episode with Saquon Barkley that'd be electric! ⛳
What 2 iron do you use
Hey man. What kind of putter is that?
Great round Jake , the greens at this place looked so tough!!! Excellent playing!!!!
Enjoying your down to earth presentations…… some of the other guys go over the top and become unwatchable IMO,,,,
The greens look very challenging. Great round.
Isn’t this the old Stone Harbor Golf Club?
Is this the former sand barrens course?
Would love the chance to play it
