This successful charitable initiative was made possible with the backing of key local sponsors, most notably Salgados Golf Club (Troon), the Cloud FM Group, Portugal Golf Holidays, along with many other generous supporters who contributed both financially and through their time and effort. The collective commitment demonstrated the strong community spirit that exists within and around the club.

The fundraising campaign concluded on 18 December, with the official presentation of the donation at Salgados Golf Club. The event welcomed young residents from Casa de Acolhimento A Gaivota, who were invited to enjoy a special day at the club. More than a formal handover, the occasion focused on creating a positive and uplifting experience for the children, offering them a chance to step away from their daily routine.

During their visit, the children were introduced to the game of golf using the club’s two new golf simulators and putting greens. Supported and encouraged by club members and staff, many experienced the sport for the first time, taking part with enthusiasm, laughter, and growing confidence.

The event also reflected the wider transformation taking place at Salgados Golf Club. Since Troon assumed management in 2024, over €1.5 million has been invested into significant improvements across both the golf course and clubhouse facilities. These enhancements have elevated Salgados’ reputation, firmly positioning it as one of the standout golf courses in the Algarve.

Despite these substantial upgrades, Salgados Golf Club continues to offer some of the most affordable membership options in the region, with country membership starting at €1,060, individual membership at €2,270, and joint membership available for €4,240.

Combining world-class facilities with a strong commitment to community engagement, Salgados Golf Club continues to demonstrate that golf can be a powerful force for positive social impact.
