Jake Paul believes he is ‘more important’ for boxing than Anthony Joshua and insisted that fans of sport should ‘want me to win’ their fight in Miami.
The pair traded heated words at the final press conference ahead of their fight in Miami, in the early hours of Saturday morning UK time.
Joshua is returning to the ring for the first time since a knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in September 2025 and insisted this isn’t his “biggest payday”, while Paul is having his 14th boxing bout following a points win over former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in June.

It’s hard to believe that im actually making a prediction for this ‘fight’ but they say if you can’t beat them join them. This is a fight in my eyes that AJ has nothing at all to gain and everything to lose. AJ still has the power to KO any Heavyweight in the world,but i believe that after the devastating Daniel Dubois defeat,that he is a very vulnerable gun shy fighter who is past his peak years. Jake Paul has nothing at all to lose so he can come out swinging or just run around and try and survive for the eighth rounds.
