I have a hookup where I could get 6 rolls of this stuff for around $100 each. Currently building my barn and was wondering if this would be good enough for side wall padding?
Will be padding the walls highlighted and area above the 16×9 screen with this stuff. Just curious if anyone has ever used it and how “safe” it is for bounce back.

It’s an old pic of the barn too, I’ll be posting pics of everything once I finally get everything set up. Just a long, long, looooong process since I’m doing it all myself.
Barn dimensions are 20 wide, 26 long, and 14.5 tall at peak with 11 foot sidewall height.

I haven’t heard of anyone using it. The purpose of the padding in the are you’ve highlighted is primarily to prevent ricochets back towards the player/spectators/valuable stuff. Secondary is protecting the walls/surfaces.

I’m confident it will protect the walls, less so on protecting you. You want the foam to absorb the ball’s energy so it falls harmlessly to the ground, if the foam is too resilient it will launch the ball back, with less velocity but the ball can still have a lot of zip on it.

Pool noodles and some pipe insulation have been known to allow ricochets. I tested my memory foam by attaching it to some plywood and firing shots directly at it. 3lb memory foam seemed to work best for me. I covered it with canvas duck cloth, just taut enough for the fabric not to sag and it works great and looks good.
