Here are the latest planning applications to be submitted to Monmouthshire County Council.

Garden room extension in Abergavenny

A proposal has been submitted for the enlargement of an existing external garden room used as office space at Belgrave House on Brecon Road, Abergavenny.

The extension would see the room grow from 20.5 square metres to 32.7 square metres.

It will include untreated vertical larch boards for walls and a green roof.

Single-storey extension in Mitchel Troy

Plans have been lodged to replace a single-storey lean-to with a new oak-framed extension at Craig Y Dorth Farm in Mitchel Troy Common.

The proposal includes a glazed gable feature and replacement of existing windows.

The extension will include stone plinth to match the existing and a slate roof to match the existing. The oak joinery will have a clear stain finish.

Roof extension at Severn Bridge Industrial Estate

Xylem Water Solutions has applied to add an over-roof extension to its premises on the Severn Bridge Industrial Estate, Symondscliff Way in Portskewett.

The project involves raising the gables by 160 millimetres. The gables will be finished with a metal fascia. This is the only visible difference according to the application.

Network Rail has confirmed it has no objections to the plans.

First-floor extension in Manson

An application has been made for a first-floor rear extension at 2 Manson Villas on Hereford Road in Manson.

The scheme would add a bedroom and office to the home, converting it into a three-bedroom property.

The plans also include pollinator plants, native shrubs, and a bat box to support biodiversity.

Industrial unit at Ifton Industrial Park

A new steel-framed commercial building is proposed for Ifton Industrial Park on Caldicot Road in Rogiet.

The building would measure 9.1 metres by 12.2 metres and feature anthracite box-profile cladding.

This is consistent with the buildings in the area.

Access arrangements to the site will remain unchanged.

Wall removal at Belmont House

Belmont House Residential Home in Abergavenny has submitted plans to remove a three-metre section of wall to reinstate access.

The existing tarmac will be replaced to match the property’s hardstanding.

The original access was closed under an earlier planning permission in 2006 but it is unclear why.

Two-storey extension in Manson

A two-storey side extension and detached double garage are proposed at 1 Drybridge Cottages on Manson Lane, Manson.

The plans would reclassify the rear garden as part of the domestic curtilage.

Internal layout changes include a new ground floor consisting of a snug, office, utility room, kitchen/living area, and an upstairs with four bedrooms (one en-suite), and a family bathroom.

Golf club works at The Rolls of Monmouth

The Rolls of Monmouth Golf Club in The Hendre, has applied to the council to make internal alterations and external works to improve accessibility to its clubhouse.
