I Finally Learned Weight Shift With This Simple Drill
Weight shift has been one of my biggest challenges in the golf swing. In this, my second lesson with the UK’s top golf coach, Anders Mankert, I had a breakthrough. Thanks to his teaching, and some great – and surprisingly simple – drills, I finally understood what it is that my lower body is supposed to be doing. Now I just need to convince it to actually do it out on the course…

I quit my job to see if I can become a scratch golfer in one year. Is it possible to go from a 10.2 to a 0.0 in 365 days of golfing full-time?

brilliant to watch and very relatable. Good luck trying to get to scratch.
Do you believe we should try a squeak toy under our left foot to understand the weight shift to your left side when you are still in your back swing?? Love your vids!
This guy is rotating his hips BEFORE. he shifts his weight to the left . If the R shoulder starts the downswing before the weight is shifted left laterally you will not be able wind up on your left side in the follow through
Also his head is flexed too much at address. This interferes with the shoulder rotation because it puts a strain on the neck.
Remember, all pros shifts their weight laterally a moment before he arms start the downswing. Until this sequence is addressed , he will not improve.
Very good guys. I’ve used the tennis ball under the back foot…
Did he explain to you what the first drill was actually doing
After lessons like this Im exhausted 🥵
Exactly my problem.
Just a personal note, I don't like his grip. But that's me.
Please ditch the background music during your intro, i want to listen to you not the music.
Force pedals are incorrectly placed. Shift pressure not weight.
I'm not an instructor by any means but have watched tons of great instruction on YouTube from pros. That said, the only thing that looks off to me is the grip which looks like you're gripping a baseball bat, and just basically flexibility. Just looks a little stiff. Anyway that's my two cents that noone asked for. Good video.
Anders is excited,I’m excited..cheering you on getting to scratch and even more. I sense a bit of nerve during this session but I reckon you did yourself proud,I mean..looks like Anders is proud of you!
I’m new to golf this year. Consumed far too many golf videos but this guy is unbelievable. His knowledge is so impressive and explains things so well!
So, I'm a feel player that shoots 12-13 handicap . Been looking for a way to help my sister. This is great information.
Fantastic lesson. Subbed 😊
If he’s on course and struggling with path, can he just play the ball forward to assist the weight transfer?
i'm pretty surprised he's working on this.. he should be working on the fundamentals. Grip should be priority N1, his posture could be more athletic with better angles. He's having issues with weight transfer because he can't load properly on his right leg. Lots to work on before this.
Do this and hopefully that tool that you don't understand will magically work for you. The golf club is not just a stick, it's a truly amazing marvel of engineering.
Swing looks a lot better from week one lets see you take it to the course
Tried these two drills at the range. 😂I can play golf again.
what mat is that? I would like to purchase that mat for practice at home.
brilliant, excellent. Just surprised that Adnders did not have a look at your right hand grip. To me it is very much in the palm not fingers.
