Sky and the PGA Tour have agreed to extend their longstanding partnership in the United Kingdom and Ireland, securing a four-year extension that keeps Sky Sports as the exclusive broadcaster of PGA Tour events in the region. This renewed agreement reinforces Sky’s place as the home of year-round golf coverage and demonstrates continued growth in golf viewership across the UK and Ireland.

The deal expands upon decades of collaboration between one of Europe’s premier sports broadcasters and the world’s top men’s professional golf circuit. It ensures that fans in the UK and Ireland will have access to every regular season event on the PGA Tour, including marquee tournaments, team competitions, and developmental circuits, for the next four seasons.

What the Extended Deal Includes

Under the terms of the new agreement, Sky Sports will continue to hold exclusive rights to broadcast all PGA Tour regular season tournaments through 2029. This includes the FedExCup regular season events, The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass, the FedExCup Playoffs, and the Tour Championship each year.

“This renewed partnership with the PGA TOUR reinforces our long-term commitment to bringing the very best live golf to customers year-round for at least the next four years,” Jonathan Licht, Sky’s Chief Sports Officer, said. “It adds to extensions of key partnerships this year, further strengthening our unrivalled golf offering. Alongside all the Majors, the Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup, the PGA TOUR ensures Sky Sports remains the exclusive place for golf fans to enjoy the biggest moments throughout the year, delivered through our leading innovation and compelling storytelling.”

Sky’s coverage also encompasses developmental and complementary circuits such as the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour Champions, giving fans a comprehensive view of professional golf–from emerging talent to seasoned veterans. The agreement assures continuous, deep golf content on Sky platforms, including linear TV and streaming options.

Growing Viewership and Fan Engagement

Recent data suggests that PGA Tour viewership on Sky Sports has grown significantly, with double-digit increases reported in 2025. This includes a more than 20% rise in overall PGA Tour viewership in the UK in 2025, with Sky reporting a 34% spike during Rory McIlroy’s victory at The Players Championship.

According to Broad Band TV News, the broadcaster also saw a 54% year-on-year increase in viewership for the FedExCup Playoffs, fueled by Justin Rose’s win at the FedEx St. Jude Championship and Tommy Fleetwood’s TOUR Championship victory and FedExCup title.

“We’re excited to continue expanding our partnership with Sky to deliver PGA TOUR action to fans in the UK and Ireland. …,” Norb Gambuzza, PGA TOUR Executive Vice President of Media, said. “We look forward to further aligning PGA TOUR Studios and the World Feed with Sky to deliver more content of the best players in the world.”

The extended rights deal also comes as Sky reports record-setting viewing figures for other golf events, including historic highs for The Masters and Ryder Cup broadcasts. These trends indicate that golf continues to be a cornerstone sport for Sky’s programming and a major draw for subscription and engagement.
