A business hoping to offer the feel of a traditional golf course inside a Merrifield storefront is hoping to open next year.
NextVision Golf Club, which will offer indoor golf simulators, coaching, a cafe and more, anticipates a “late spring 2026 opening,” owner Gary Ngo told FFXnow.
The club, located at 8502 Route 29, takes over the space formerly occupied by both the McLean Furniture Gallery and the Bill Page Honda auto body shop.
Accordingly, roughly $250,000 in renovations are currently ongoing in the space, according to Fairfax County’s permitting website.
The state of the renovation is currently unclear, however, as the storefront’s exterior windows are covered with plastic.
As detailed in a special permit application first reported by Patch and approved by the Fairfax County Board of Zoning Appeals on Oct. 29, NextVision will offer 10 indoor golf simulator stations, as well as PGA-certified coaching and other services tailored to golfers.
“Our simulators utilize the most advanced technology from GolfZon, which provides access to the ultra realistic world-class courses and precision swing data, perfect for casual play or personal practice,” the club says on its website.
The club’s golfing services will be accompanied by a dining area, dubbed the 19th Hole Lounge, that will offer “handcrafted beverages and flavorful cuisine,” according to the website.
A pro shop offering apparel and other items will also be included in the space, according to renderings.
In its special permit application, the business proposed operating hours of 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday. It expected to have eight staff members total and up to 50 customers on the site at any given time, “with the facility being most active during evenings and weekends.”
NextVision appears likely to benefit from being in close proximity to Merrifield Golf, which provides golf equipment services, such as club fittings, repairs and trade-ins.
