Golf life x

Welcome back to the channel. Welcome back to a new video, you golf life legends. We’re here at the super impressive Fox Hills Golf Academy for episode two of Fenners Does Golf in association with Ben Ross. Inside the academy there, Fenners is working alongside his coach who has been very very busy the last couple of months working on his game. Uh because later on we have got some epic challenge. Uh, but let’s get inside and see what Fenners and his coach have been working on. Let’s go. Right, here we go. We’re inside the fantastic Fox Hills Academy and over here is Fenoir to about action. Okay, so five or six fenners. Fenners Fenners. Yes, mate. How we doing? Tom, get in. Tom, Tom is your coach. Um, how are we John? How are you feeling? Good. Yeah, I’m um slow and steady. Yeah, slow and steady. wins the race. And um what I have learned, Peter, yeah, well, we’ve we’ve learned together, haven’t we, that there’s there’s a golfer inside everyone. There is. There is finding him. That’s our catchphrase. So, if anyone nicks that cuz you’ve got enough you’ve got enough catchphrases and things already on Golf Life. So, that’s ours. Yeah. Oh, and we share that. So, it’s a bit like the Gary Player thing that when you walk through there, the harder I work, the luckier I get. Gary Player. Yeah. There’s a golfer inside all of us. John Fenley and Tom. Yeah, exactly. That’s it. John Fenley and Tom. But seriously, what have you boys been working on over the last couple of months? Cuz I’ve seen you hit some balls already this morning and you do look like you are a lot better. Tom, what have you been getting him to do? Uh, so the biggest thing’s just been like some small fundamentals to get him reacting better. So we noticed with Fennas basically club was drifting a little bit outside and getting a little bit choppy. So we just set this grid out. Yeah, to help with our club path, but the club in the middle also a little bit for ball position because it was quite far forward. So, just moved it back and in that we found he’s reacting sort of 10 times better and like you’ve seen this morning and hit some good Absolutely. good shots. And what’s he been like the last couple of months? Has he been listening to you or has he been mucking around? No, no, he’s he’s been good. It’s about like with golf it’s about having fun. So for me, coaching someone that you can have a bit of fun with as well, like that makes it for me and gets the most out of the player and the most out of me as a coach. I ask a lot of questions. It’s good though. Yeah, that’s amazing. Yeah. Have you enjoyed it? Well, the initial problem was flexibility cuz I couldn’t do Tuesdays or Thursdays, could I? So that was um that was the initial problem. But uh so as a novice golfer and and I mean novice golfer again, let’s just let’s just uh let’s have it right as Jim would say. I have played a bit of golf. I did a course at college. Yeah. And part of it we did we did golf but it wasn’t on a golf course. It was just around like the field and stuff like that. So I I kind of learned or was taught didn’t learn it. I was taught sort of the biomechanics of it. So I’ve got an understanding of like how to put force on a ball to to move it in a direction. All right. Yeah. But everything that I’d assumed when you see players playing golf, it’s it’s it is a it’s assumption. So like when I when I’m standing addressing the ball, when I’m put when I’m holding the club, when I’m swinging the club back, everything that I was doing was from a a position of like it was just guess work. It was guess work and like and trying to feel it and but what I’ve learned is that you just get those things in place and you’ve got a bit of a routine cuz I I you know I’m sure all golfers have routines, do they? Yeah, but I I I didn’t have a routine. So, I just like walk up and I’m like, “Oh, God, I don’t it, you know, just try and hit it, you know.” So, five or six things I’ve kind of learned which have been massively massively beneficial. But that’s amazing for beginner golfers. What are those five or six things that Tom’s taught you already? All right. So, just show us. So, literally like things like you get involved as well. So before I before I had a lesson, I would walk up to that ball there and I and I go to sort of hit it and and I’m like and my uh my stance is, you know, my left foot’s there and my right foot’s there, you know, and it’s like that feels, you know, in my head that was like naturally how I want to hit that ball. But I learned that well, if you know, we got the club there. If it’s equidistant and it’s in the middle, then all right, that’s that’s my starting point. And then the other great thing was, you know, I’m quite gangly and so it’s it’s I wanted to be like, oh, I want to feel like it’s really compact and, you know, like that and I’m really in control of it. Like when you’re playing football, you get it and you sort of you sort of drop yourself down, don’t you? And you sort of, you know, you’re hitting passes and you sort of That’s a natural thing cuz I’ve played football. Yeah. But with this, so it’s like I I wouldn’t really know like how how far like my arm should be out. And then Tom suggested that I just take the take the grip like that. And then take the hand that hand away and just let it swing back. And if it falls back into that position, then that’s the correct that’s the correct distance. So you just swing that back like a club. Interesting. Really simple. And it’s just stuff like that cuz I’m quite visual. Yeah, it’s like I can remember that now. So every time I’m doing it, I will do that. I will do that. So now, but if you look at my right foot now, look where it’s gone. It’s gone over there cuz I’m thinking, so get back in there, you little weasel. And there we going in there. So So talk us through that, Tom. That that hand thing for beginner golfers who want to get into golf like absolutely. What talk us through what what that is all about cuz that’s So basically all it is is just getting like a consistent and correct distance from the golf ball. So in a golf swing, it’s over in a matter of seconds, milliseconds. So the only thing we can control as a golfer is our setup. Like that’s something that we’ve got full control and we can take as long or as short amount of time as possible. So, if we’re creeping too far away from the ball, what I was saying a a little bit earlier about reactions, like if we’re too far away from the ball at the start, our brain subconsciously is going to be like, how am I going to get this to the golf ball? So, that’s going to lead to some bad reactions and maybe leaning over a little bit, stretching the arms, doing different things that basically going to affect strike, but also where the ball’s going, right? So getting a good distance from the golf ball and just feeling that arm swing back, we know that we’re in the same position every time to then be able to repeat a move. And then along with the other stuff that we’ve worked with with uh with Fenners, it’s just literally been a case of building good habits. So this first part of the swing really is the most important because if you’re creeping in, you’re then going to want to come over the top to then basically react and change to that. So if you can build a good fundamental in this first part of the swing, all it is to there is a turn and you’ve got a good position every time. Like a lot of coaches will try and make golf like very complicated and it can get very complicated but as a beginner you just need a simple process to basically help you hit that position more as you improve like you can look at smaller details like club face angles. Yeah. But even like at my level like I’m a very simple person. So I do not want right we want this in this position, this position here, this position here. I want to feel right. So and I feel like Fenners is very similar to me of that visual side of things. He’s got the visual. So he can then just turn to the top cuz he’s got that visual of you can almost imagine that on a golf course like if there’s something behind you sort of thing, right? That’s roughly where that club would be laying. I want to keep that club head outside that point. Like it you can almost use it as a bit of a a superpower when you’re on the golf course cuz it’s not cheating cuz if there’s a daisy or a dandelion there, okay, keep my club outside that. you’ve got that visual, so you can use it to actually help you on the course as well as like when you’re practicing on the range. That’s amazing. And the the thing the thing that I think is really interesting is that all this stuff because I don’t have any I don’t have any sort of preconception of of what it is apart from in my mind. It’s like so all that stuff I’m learning. I’m I’m like learning it for the first time. Yeah. So it’s like it it just makes things so much easier. It’s like that really simple stuff. For example, just a knowledge of knowledge of the the game in terms of like a knowledge of which how when you strike the ball, which part of the how how should the the face of the club be, you know, hitting the ball? I I don’t know that. I don’t know that, you know, and it’s like obviously different clubs and different things, but so I didn’t know any of that. I didn’t know, you know, so another another great tip that Tom gave me was um Can I just Absolutely. was was um Great. So again, so I’ve got that I got this bit sorted. I know how far I know how far my hands need to be there. Is that right? Let’s swing that back. Yes, that’s lovely. But this So this now is my club. Should my club be there? Should it be down there? Should it be up there? It’s there. No. Because what Tom has has taught me that there’s a laser. A laser is firing laser. Laser is firing into my And the laser is firing into my groin there. So that’s where that’s where we want it in there like that. So again, that’s another great tip because then I would have it there. You know, I might have it there. Yeah. Or I might have it too low. Or I might have it in there, you know, shooting straight in there. And we don’t want that. But you want it right in your groin. Just on the left on the left hand side there like that. It’s right in there. Am I right there? That’s correct. Yeah. With you, what we had was our laser would have been missing our body and going past our left hip. So it just helped him relax his hands off, but also sort of hand position as well, like you said, with do I go up, do I go down? Like Yeah. It just gets him in a consistent position that he can then repeat and hit golf shots. little technology shout. I mean, does that does it exist? Is there a thing? So, again, like we can have this. Don’t Don’t They’re doing all right now, boys. Um, we could what we could do is we could create a little thing you put on the top of your club to get the laser so you can see it on there so you can shoot on you. We’d have our logo on it as well. So, you could do that. You could do a golf life logo like a little laser. Tom Fenner’s laser. Pop it on the end. I’ll tell you what, we’ve got all this pop on the end. Look at that. Like you had a little laser coming out there. How beautiful. There it is. Fantastic. I mean, is that does that exist? Hello. It is something that does exist. So, like it does. Yeah. So, unfortunately, we uh we’re going to have to go back to the drawing board. But you can even use something like if you’re at home and you’re practicing and you prefer to like have a visual of something coming out the end of the club, like something as simple as putting a teg in the end of the grip is doing the same thing cuz you’ve just got a little bit more of like basically a target coming out the end of the grip that you know now, okay, that TEG’s going too far. Now that TEG’s going into my golf. Not as good as a laser though, is it? Come on. It’s not a laser, right? Let’s Let’s see what you got. Let’s see what you got. Let’s hit a few shots. I want to see I want to see Tom coach you as well because you’ve got a big big challenge coming up later. Okay. So, we’re going to just put in there, Pete. Like that. Okay. Like I want to get a little bit closer in there. There it is. Straight, straight, straight. So, one thing that we’ve looked at as well, Fenners, why do we hit that basically one where we catch the top of the ball a bit thin? Where’s our belly button and our body moving? Yeah, it’s moving away from the target. So, that’s going to affect us hitting a bit up and catching it like that. So, just feeling that belly button getting towards the yellow flag and turning through it. I’ve gone a bit I’ve gone a bit nervous with the cameras, lads. That’s what’s happened. Not not used to it. Been out the out the game a bit. Been out the game a while. All right, An. Yes. Tough crowd, isn’t it? An Jesus. Club face there. So, just remembering as well cuz what we’ve got if we swing this arm back for me. This one? Yeah. Yeah. do your swing. See how your hand is basically levitating moving towards that. So if you bring it back in a normal position, that’s a little bit low. Okay. So if you go a little bit further away from the golf ball for me. So it brings it back. So just a a fraction. And now that wants to come straight back. There we go. Okay. Oh, you little I was going if we caught it. Also, as a golf coach, would you recommend two gloves? Ah, does it not matter? Personal preference. Personal preference. Keep all this in, by the way, won’t you? Absolutely. Cuz they are the three worst shots of it, aren’t they? They are. We’ve got to see the progression. And before the camera started rolling, you were absolutely striking it. But that’s golf. You’re not going to have a few lessons then become Tiger Woods. And that’s the I mean that’s the biggest thing as well with like TV golf is it gives a complete misconception of professional golf that everything is perfect. Exactly. Like as a pro you hit funny shots, you’ll hit shanks, you’ll hit thins, you’ve hit fat shots. Like I’ve been at live tournaments down at the BMW and had one fly over my right shoulder with a shank from Robert Carlson. Like there we go. There it is. Golf swing. What a shot, John. I love to see this. But yeah, we’ve got to keep the bad ones in. There’s no point saying that John’s now brilliant at golf. Oh, exactly. Yeah. You know, if I can just help if I can just help someone out there, you know, if I can just do my bit, I feel like I’m giving back. So, we did his bit for the golf community because there’s a golfer in all of us job. Exactly. Good that mate. Get that pattern on that laser, mate. Yeah, that’s it. Great shot. There we go. That is awesome, mate. That is so good. I’d really like to hit a straight one. That is pretty. Before we go, that’s probably only five yards off your feet line. So, your feet line is a little bit drifted a little bit right. So, our target is essentially right edge of that middle green. And that’s only about 5 yards right of it. So, it’s not too bad at all. John, that is unbelievable, mate. That’s so good. It’s just concentration, isn’t it? That’s so good, mate. It’s just concentration. That’s such a massive improvement from the first episode. But I think you just got to you just got to keep doing it as well until until it becomes repeating and reps like to get better at any level. It’s it’s just literally repeating it and hitting thousands upon thousands of balls. And not only that, it’s it’s doing like quality practice. So little things like this, like he could do this for an hour and he would gain more from hitting an hour’s worth of balls with this than he would just standing on a range for 2 3 hours, not really having a clue. So he’s going to get more quality out of his hour than he is if he had 2, three hours to practice. Yeah, exactly that. Because I can you can come I can come through I could go and play golf. I could go to the range three times a week, hit, hit a load of balls, think I’m getting some really good practice in Yeah. and then go and play. But it’s like the the lessons are so vital. Yeah. Cuz it’s it’s like anything, isn’t it? You you get to a point like you you don’t want to be like wasting time. So it’s like all these things and if because if you I can see why I can see why people get into golf and I can see why people get out of golf. Yeah. The frustration of it and when you’re 55 like me I know I know look a lot a lot. No. Okay. when when you haven’t got the when you haven’t got the time, you want you want to go and you want to be like, so I I feel like those those things that I’ve got in place now, yeah, those like five or six things, like you said, I don’t need to be worrying about all the, you know, the the minutia of, you know, angle of and all that sort of stuff because I’m never going to get to that. But if I can hit a few balls straight and I can identify why they’re not going straight and sort of work it out, then it’s just get it’s just getting that first bit in it, getting the getting the striking and then hopefully, you know, absolutely down the line we can think a little bit more about direction. because the final episode uh of this series with Ben Ross is you trying to break 50 uh over nine holes maybe on the Fox Hills course. Um so how far do you think Fenners is from getting around that and how many more lessons with your good self do you think he needs to get out on a proper golf course and try and shoot around 50 over nine holes? I mean, I think with a few of the strikes that we’ve seen this morning and in a short space of time, we’ve seen like lots of improvement. A couple more and and a few more weeks just basically rehearsing this and practicing that that we’re starting to see some consistent patterns like and strike and things like that, which he’s picked up really quickly. Um, I 100% think it’s achievable. It’s definitely something that can uh can be on the cards. Absolutely. And that’s the final episode, but this is the second episode. So, we’re gonna have a few more balls here, but we have got a challenge, John, coming up. Uh, it’s going to be myself versus you. Okay. On the par three course. So, we’re going to work on your short game, right? I know you and Tom have been working a little bit on your short game. You are going to start, you’re going to have 10 shots on me, right? Okay. Okay. So, you’re going to have 10 shots of me and also you’ve got a bit of a wild card. It’s this guy. [Music] Right fellas, are you happy with that? 10 shots and you get five shots from Mr. Jimmy Bolard. Oh, choosing wisely, John, is what I would say to myself. Yeah. Me versus you. Actually, Tom, can you come here a sec? Do you Come on, coach. Absolutely. Absolutely. Do you do I need Do you think I need Jim? I I don’t think we’re quite there yet. A little bit of assistance. The boys flushing here at the minute. Just a little bit. You know, it’s part of your jobs psych psych psychological and you know, you’re supposed to be bu building me up here like mental coach as well, you know, and like you just like ruined me there, mate. If it gets to that as a coach, I’m going to be a proud coach. Okay. I think just right now, I think a little bit of uh a little bit assistance, right? So, that’s all gearing up to like like we’ve mentioned the final episode and Golf Life Legends. Make sure you are following the Ben Ross Instagram account because you can win some unbelievable prizes on that last episode when John tries to break 50 over nine holes. Breaks 50. Breaks 50. He’s doing it. You know, I’m not just breaking 50. I’m breaking the internet. And that is achievable. And Tom, I just want to say thank you so so much for all the work you’ve been doing with Fennis. It’s been pleasure. Unbelievable. And can people book lessons with you? Yeah. Yeah. So can book lessons with me. I’m down at Leatherhead Golf Club. So teach place. Zay’s academy. Yeah, that’s it. So I do a little bit of uh work down there um with Josh and Matt Edgar. I do ZS Juniors. So the junior academy down there. Amazing. Um but do oneto ones as well which you can do just through my Instagram and also the ZS um Junior’s Instagram account. There’s links on there to the website and stuff and we’ll put the uh we’ll put the accounts here. So if you want a lesson with this man, do it. Right. Should we get to the first thing? Let’s do it. Let’s go. I had a cloth on here. I had a cloth to wipe me clubs with. I can’t find it anywhere. Did anyone see it? That’s camo. It’s camo. All right. It’s camo. A we are watch your numbers. Absolutely. You know the internet’s broken. Gone. They broke it. I’m about to I’m about to break it. Unbelievable. They just bloody. They just bloody fixed the internet and he’s come along and bloody broken it again. The the daffod. So as you’re filming this cuz it’s not. Do you know what? I’ve just absolute rigger. God. Darren Fletcher, isn’t it? Commentator. Commentator. Oh, yeah. That is you, Darren. Darren Fletcher. We’re doing this. Are we right, as you can see, we are on the first here and we have been joined by the bulldog. Hello everybody. Right, so here we go. We’ve got Fennas. Fennas is going to start on 10 under. He’s got his magical coach Tom who we obviously saw on the range earlier. He’s got to be a magician. Like, I tell you what, we had an hour lesson planned. 5 minutes in, he went, “My work’s done here.” Oh, really? Yeah. He was like, “There’s a little bit there, Tom.” He’s like, “Wow, something there.” Sound there. What’s your What’s your slogan? Slogan. Slogo. You can have that. You can have a slogan with a logo. And it’s a slow. There we go. There’s a There’s a golfer in every golfer in everyone. You know, Gary Player says, “The harder I work, the luckier I get.” That’s correct. Tom says he’s there. There’s a golfer in everyone. There’s a golfer in everyone. Golfer in everyone. Look on the delivery a bit, Matt. I don’t think you’re really feeling. There’s a golfer in everyone. Golf golf in everyone. It’s like you believe it. So there we go. There we go. You are starting 10 under. Um we are playing this beautiful par three. It’s very very challenging, but the bulldog can take five of your shots. So you can nominate five of shots. The first one down here all the way around. All the way around. Just five shots. Any five? Yeah. Any five shots. And we are all using these magical Ben Ross numbers. But we got fitted. Yeah. Unbelievable. John’s been hitting them well. I’ve been on the range. I’ve been hitting them well. How expensive they are alone. No, I don’t. Ridiculous. They are shafts. Just you right. Proper number. Ven Ross. You can get all these clubs for just over a grand as well. So, if you are a beginner golfer, um, these are a very, very good choice. Lovely set of bats, as they say, as proper golfers say. We don’t say clubs cuz that sound like a bit of a square. So, I say bats. You’re a bit quiet. What’s up with you? Just ain’t got word in. So, the fact you got you’ve got you’re helping. I know you’re not feeling so good. It just come out from sawrass. I’m all right. There’s a bit of sawrass and now he’s playing with this. John’s up first. Hang on a sec. Hang on, hang on, Peter. I need you for this. Come and go. No, I’ve got a little before I start. Yeah. Look, before we start, I’ve got a little tip. Early with a shorts, he little tip is I got myself some uh brought some of these, not snacks. What is it? It’s breadcrumbs when I’m on the greens to attract the birdies. God flex, you can have them. Absolutely. Oh, brilliant. Have you just pulled? Yeah, I crunched them all up as well. Can you not do that on the first Can you not give me on the T John Fley? Thank you. From Eiselorth. You can put the sound. You can put the sound effective in there. Also known as a soccer legend behind Love Joy. Yep. [Music] Oh, sorry. Jumb boy. Right. I’ve gone pitching wedge. It’s a tough course this and I think you’ve got five of Jimmy’s shots and top coaching. It’s going to be tough this. I’ve got I’ve got to turn up bunker. What a lovely shot. Gee, that’s unbelievable. It shot. He’s raising his game, isn’t he? It’s all right. Love it, Pete. The Ben on the numbers. Love that. I’ll take your bag, sir. You sure? Yeah. Okay. Okay, we’re against each other, but we’re all friends. I I’ll do the next stall. Yeah, lovely, lovely stuff. Right, you’ve been unlucky there, Fenners. That is an absolute mingboat shot. Have you Have you taught him bunker shots yet, Tom? 60 yard bunk. We’ve not got quite that far yet. So, this is yard shot in golf, isn’t it? Oh, absolutely. 60 yard trap shot. So, all the best. Well, all the best to you because I’m I’m playing the Joker. I’ve got a two shot second shot and I’m pulling the bulldog in. Come on, fenners. Better than that, you know. Oh my god. This is such a tough shot, fellas. Yeah, but Jim, you’re a red light animal. Yeah, but this is like Will give it a go. It’s beautiful. He’s playing one. Just absolutely ripped it. Oh, it’s tad long. It’s out. It’s out. Wasn’t a bad strike, was it? That was a great pick up. Get on the old Ben Rosses. Hey, flew out of there. Great shot. Thanks, Jim, for that. It’s all right. We’ve got it near. Yeah. This is you. Just bump it up there, lad. Is it this pulling out the fenders flop? Hey, come on. I end If you want you want to see that, check out my Only Fans site. Uh, how much that a month? No, I don’t know what. That’s a good idea though, is it? It’s not bad, mate. Get I think I’ve got like ingrown toenails on that. People will be into that, won’t they? They like weird stuff, don’t they? Not your toes. No, seriously. Yeah. You know, I’ve got web toes. Yeah. Yeah. You haven’t got webs. Both my both my middle toes. No. Get them on only fans. Wow. I’ve never seen this. You not seen my web toes? Shut up. Yeah. The golf love ledgers never seen this webonorus. Look at them. They’re stuck together. No, they’re not. Yeah, they are. The middle ones they on them too? Yeah. Oh my god. Get on them two. Little fraggles. Oh yeah. There’s no slit up the top of them. Look at the web. Yeah. Welcome to the web seminar. There we go. You know those shoes you can get like you know you like the like when you’re surfing and things like that you put those little like they’re like those are they is your is your other foot like it? Yeah. I’m well good at swimming flap attack. There we go. That’s well weird is it? Yeah a little bit. I got many pairs of flip flops though. Anyway, back to the goal. Right. Chip shot. He’s just chip shot. So what we looking at here then Jim Bond talking through it fenners. So what what we saying talking through it definitely a flop just a little sand iron. Little sand iron. Just try and pitch it on the green. You reckon? Or do you think bump it into here? I think I think just percentages. I think using a little less loft and bumping getting it running towards the hole. Go on then. Just cuz I think you’ve got to have that release. I tell you what would be interesting. How do you see it? Me? Yeah. Well, being a sportsman, cuz you are a bit of a sportsman. I’m a bit worried about this here. Right. Yeah. So, I’m a bit worried about the contact and not getting enough on it and it just sort of ends up here. I feel I’d rather be of a bit more sort of like think, see, I know the way he thinks. I’ve worked with him for six years. You know what I mean? Well, there we go. And I’m near his. I think if I can just get it into that and I reckon pitch it on the top that you’re more pitch it on the top. Yeah. Well, I mean I don’t think there’s a right there’s not a right or wrong way at all. I just think you’ve got a bit more forgiveness with maybe using like a wedge or a nine that it’s going to be running. But obviously if you visualize it and see it as a bit more up on the the flat then absolutely unlucky. I I I myself basically. Yeah. I didn’t like what literally. I No, not literally. No, I just I just um didn’t I didn’t really see what I got. I got caught in two stools. Right. Okay. Two stools. Don’t worry. We’re here now. Can Can I move that stick? Yeah. the ball down there. Right. Um, right. What would you suggest here, boys? So, this now is a bit closer. I think the decisions made that it’s on top like flying it up with with the club that you got in your hand. With this one, a low point was just a bit back. So, you hit behind the golf club. Okay. So, just feeling like a little bit more of your weights on your front foot. So, you got like 70 over here, 30 here. And you’re going to keep that 70 on there. So that’s that’s it. Okay. But I’m still And then it’s just a slightly longer pattern stroke basically. But I’m still uh I’m still equidistant in the middle. Yeah. We always stick to that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Around that area is perfect. Where you’ve got it. It’s a good position. Where the is that gone? Come on. It’s going round. Oh, nearly there. Just wanted. That’s all right. Right. Here we go. I’m not going to give you too many too early, Jim, cuz I might need might need your back end. You know what I’m saying? I do like this. Win it for me. Might be done by then, though. Cheers. Cheers for the support, mate. Lovely Peter. Lovely. I tell you what, this boy Oh. Oh, this boy P is He’s giving it all. Wow. That’s ran out a long way, didn’t it? build us as well. They got rid of the big holes. I know are on. They used to have big holes here. Yeah. What happened to the big ones? That would have dropped in the old big one. It’s on fire. It’s a golf joke. If you’ve heard these before, don’t worry. It’s just I’m new to golf. So, I’m going to do all the uh Right. This is not an easy putt, John. This is your fifth shot as well. So, how are you seeing it? Well, the way I’m seeing it is gravity. Yeah. Tricky. Just let it let let it go down of its own accord like a like a little waterfall. Like a little titized waterfall going on in effort. Quick then very quick. Very quick. They’re like they’re like glass these. Not bad effort. Cheers. This is a par for a par. Oh, that’s four. This for a six. Come on. For a six. Come on. This for a six. Yeah. Is that good? Are we doing gimmies? Doing gimmies. Right. So, it’s for a six. How you lining it up, John? How you lining it up? This is where we need uh Absolutely. Jimmy and Tom to help you here. Let’s have a look. So something that I know Jim will do as well cuz he’s a very good golfer is from that putt I would start my learning from after I’ve hit that putt cuz it’s gone past the hole you can see that that break and stuff. So we know coming past the hole it’s moved just a little bit. So just on this this edge here at a nice pace is going to be uh right for us just on that right lip. Go on. A It’s just up here. See, it’s the seven. I just need the seven. It’s not an easy course, John. Are you giving me that one? I can’t knock it. Just the noise of it. Just the confidence. Nice. There it is. Just the confidence. Right. We’re on chooses boy. 59 y. Yeah. This is a tiny little bump. What you I’m going to go sand wedge, Jim. Go on then. You’re flying all the way. Yeah. A little clippy. Yeah. Little clippy one. Go on then. Weight on front foot. Lovely. Tell you what, lovely golf stroke. That’s his great golf. So, yes. I thought you was gone a monster. These clubs, they are forgiving. Sound iron. Why not? Work for the uh work for the tubinator. Come on. That’s a good shot. That picked it. Lovely. What you thinking, Fenn? Come on, boys. Talking through it. Help him out here. I’m thinking my tendency is to go that way down the hill. And so I that’s something I don’t want to do, Tom. So what we noticed with him on the range is he gets ball position forward and then really opens the club and then over the top. So the face is miles open and that’s that right shot. So, just feeling like we’re in the middle of our our stance again and working in that circle for impact. Tom’s saying you’re like that. Yeah. Right. So, where’s the ball going to go? It’s always going to go right. Well, yeah. So, we want to be there, don’t we? Impact. Yeah. You want to be there. Do you get me? Beautiful. And like I was saying, like in our lesson on the range, like you can pick a spot like, do you know we had our two sticks to help you work inside? like this little black spot. Yeah. Is our spot that you can use as like a little bit of a visual and feeling like there’s going You know what I did when I when I was up there on that first one, I kind of looked back there and I was sort of thinking I was looking for that thing there. The uh Yeah, like almost if something’s there. We know here we have. So, just making sure that’s in the middle. So, if you shuffle a bit more towards the target. So, moving the ball back a little bit. There we go. Move it back a touch. Yeah. Yeah. Are there any rules about that? Like you can’t touch it, you shouldn’t touch you with it. Is that all right? Yeah. As long as you don’t. Just learning. I’m learning a go, lads. Perfect. Okay. So, we’re in there. Okay. We’re just going to take that about there. That’s nice. Feels okay. Laser beam. I tell you what, John. Tell you what, John. Get down the hill. Go on then. Show your face. Good shot, John. On the rough a little bit. Just on the edge. Good shot, mate. Good shot. Yeah, I’ll just get the putter out. Whenever you can get the putter out, if you just started. Well, not even if you just started. I’ve been playing golf 30 years and that’s a putter. Absolutely. Especially on that line. Not even unless you’ve got like a slightly longer shot that’s like over 20, 30 yards, then ball’s very dirty. Let me ask you a question. Just let me come in. You know, you know know when there’s a bit of roughness cuz it’s quite good for our viewers. Would you still play back and play a little bit more descending blow on that or would you Cuz I I think if that’s my normal putter grip, I’m collecting all of that. So I still put it back and just bump down a fraction of it or do you not? Uh I stay fairly normal. So my ball positions like in the middle and because you’ve got all this mass behind the ball that’s for me is helping with the rough and stuff. See, see it’s so different. Like I might look at it and think like if it’s sat down a bit and like think about a belly wedge. But in this scenario, you let the PS especially with the beginners. Yeah. And we know that it’s quick down that hill as well. So it’s a little downhill. Bit out to the bit out to the right. Yeah. Bit out to the right you think? Yeah. Just a fraction. I’d imagine. So imagine the holes here. Absolutely. Yeah, it’s interesting that it’s interesting. That’s awesome. Right, I’m seeing this right to left. I love I love this cuz they’re really trying to help. I love it when there’s like a team effort. I love it. Even though I’m against them, I love it. Right. So, I’m seeing this right to left. Lovely shot, Pete. Yeah. P. Very good. We’ll give you that. You give it to me. Yeah. Yeah. We’ll give you that. Thank you. Two footer. I’m in for par. Very, very good. That was perfect. Hey, the improvement is there to see. No, that was Can I for Can I have that one? Yeah, give you that one. Well played, mate. that one up. This is going to be spicy, right? What’s the yardage here, Tommy boy? He’s going to So, you’re going to send me up, right? We’re 113. 113. I reckon it’s probably It’s not far off. Probably like 105 where it’s a bit downhill. Come. It’s coming around. Oh, the coming spin. Roll down. Little bit of spin. There you go. Fanta green. There we go. Fanta green, boys. Right. Pressure. Rider cup. Feels like rider a cup. It’s like me, you know, on a tree. 20 foot. He’s put a bit of pressure on him though, is it? What do you want, Pete? What would you like? 113. I’m going to go pitching wedge, please. John. Okay, there you go, sir. Thank you very much. Lovely. Go on. Right. That’s great, isn’t it? cuz we’re like we are competing but we’re we’re all like we’re supporting each other and we’re we’re playing together and we’re it’s it’s great isn’t it care front of the green drum drum you want to film the feet tell you what tubes filthy oh my judge all right the green’s killed Jud The green’s killed you. Look at the green. Is this Augusta? I was just thinking this is a hard course. Can I just say something? You’ve got to have a look at these. And I’m not having banter. They suit you. They come straight out the middle every single shot. See that shot? You’ve nearly canned it, bro. Go. Come on. Right. Good luck with this, John. It’s lucky you’ve got two scratch golfers to help you here because this is one of the hardest putts going before we get This is probably the hardest putt you’ll ever have in your life. takes the pressure off that though. This is like a marble staircase. It’s ridiculous. This is all gustaesque. So, all the best. It’s scandalous down there. He’s going to give you a little tip here. I think as a as like a visual, you can use this old hole. Yeah. So, we’re trying to roll it just high of this hole. Just that side of it. Just high of it. Yeah. But you’re imagining that there’s like a hole in here. Okay. So, this is where we want the golf ball to stop and then it’s just going to feed down to the hole. This one does not need a long though. Yes. Okay. So, you give me some good information there. Again, this is why it’s really important cuz you said you go past that hole. Yeah. And then you said this is where we want it to stop. So, if you hadn’t said that to me, I would have probably given it a bit too much rum duly. And then it’s it’s rumul. Yeah. And we don’t want too much of the rum douly, do we? A little bit uphill. And then by the hole, it’s downhill. And just get it dying on top of that. At 4T past that hole. 4 foot past that hole. 4 foot 5T past the hole. Yeah. Okay. Just dying. Just losing pace. Settle down. Settle down. That’s a golf shot. You know what? Wing wing wing. It’s got to go. Oh. Oh my god. Unlucky, mate. See, I thought I’d over hit that. I thought you over hit it, then all of a sudden it just slowed up. And I can’t believe it. Sat in a little crevice. It’s a liberty though. That I thought that we were under there. I thought that was a puppy. Well, I’ve opted to putt. Uh, it’s literally landed right next to the hole. Um, it’s tough tough courses. Got to give it some cuz if not, it’s going to roll back down. That’s good, Pete. Unlucky, mate. Stop. We’ll have a look now. Stop. We’ll have No, we’re going to have a little look at you there, boy. Yeah, I I couldn’t agree more to Thanks, Pedro. I’m getting to him, mate. I’ll leave you at it. What are you seeing? This is Yeah, it’s like, so have a little feel of it. So you want to come like 3/4 of the way up the P cuz that’s so when you’re aim pointing like Jim does, if you’re coming 3/4 of the way, that’s like normally where it’s losing its speed. So that’s where it’s going to move the most sort of thing. So 3/4 of the way up the P and then so this one I’ve got about a two. Okay. So this little mark here Yeah. I don’t reckon’s too far away. Okay. Cuz I think it’s going to just move in from there. But I’d imagine the holes here, don’t they? Oh, absolutely. Honestly. All right. Okay. That’s really It’s lost. Oh, what a part. Stay up. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Oh, okay. Quit. This is This is You better go put that. This is the hardest green ever, honestly. How unlucky was that? See how close you was to the first? Yeah. Your first one. Is it me, Pete? That is It’s so hard. How hard is that? That move this little off your line. It’s a great part little Don’t need any of that holding us up, do we? So, where abouts have you got this one, Fenn? Well, I’m sort of thinking I’m sort of thinking, you know, around here. Around that. So, because it’s uphill, it’s going to get to the hole quicker. Yeah. And one thing that we know from a visual is we know it slopes from back to front. Yeah. So this one I’m I’m seeing this actually a little bit the opposite way. Okay. To fairly straight just cuz you’re going uphill and we’re going to have to hit it quite firm. So I think I think if you go pretty straight at this one, I don’t think it’s doing a lot. Do you know what? That’s the plightest way of someone telling me you haven’t got a clue what you It’s all right. That’s why we’re here. We’re on your coach, John. Good. I know. Yeah. On the course. I love that. Remember, it’s uphill. You’re going to have to hit this at a good speed to to get it up there cuz it is going to be slow. So, you think it’s quite quite Yeah, it’s uphill, John. Fairly straight. Just on the on the right edge. On the right, not on the right edge, but not far outside the hole at all. It’s not a bad effort. That’s done. Good for me, John. Take it away. Take it away. Oh, you let me have that. I’m letting you know that. Let’s have a practice. Yeah, cuz you can. There we go. That’s low. So, you’re in for five. Put yours in as well, shall I? Oh, yeah. Oh, I thought I was going to let him have that. Oh, we’re not letting him have his. No. No, we’re not actually. Good point. Cuz we need the So, you’re in for five. Yeah. Yeah. In the end. That’s five. I’ve left you a terrible path. Left you in a worse. Oh, no. You haven’t, Jim. Don’t you I don’t want you taking responsibility. I don’t you don’t check my Jim. Good put by the way. Hey, you must Hey, me and you would be off scratch then. We be I’ll be you and give you a shot. You little weasel. Right. I tell you what, I’m a bit surprised with myself. I’ve started off pretty well. Yeah, he’s had a It’s six shots. It’s already down. So, you’re leading by four. But we’re on the fourth. You’ve got Jimmy. Uh, three more shots. This is a tough tough hole. Talk us through this, Jim. 137. Little bit uphill. Pin on the left. What? You got eight iron? I’ve got eight iron. Yeah, I reck let’s bang on to you. Go on. Oh, this is a stripe shot. God, Peter, you’re absolutely on flames. Soft drawers. Are you all right? You Oh my god. You all right? What is going on? He’s found something here. Tell you, Jim, what do you think? Me? Talk me through um soft lemons just quickly. Yeah. Talk me through it quickly. Explain soft lemons to me. Soft lemonade fade. Left or right? Okay. That’s what it means, right? Did you not know what it mean? No. Okay. This is it. You see, it’s like what people normally do is they just go along with it. Oh, yes. No. No. So, yeah. So, lemonade is short for a fade, but Mar ain’t a big fade. It’s hardly moves. That’s a soft one. Soft lemon. Love it. You know what I mean? Yeah. We get We got there. Whereas I’m doing coffee ground coffee grounds, Jim. Coffee grounds out of bounds. Coffee grounds out of bounds. Coming in. So, I’m just utilizing my joker again. Uh, so this is Jimmy’s third shot out of the five. I’ve got nine on. We’re only on the fourth hole. Oh, absolute slinger ding. Slinger ding. Oh, Jimmy. There we go. That is why is your joy? Yes. What a shot. This was the old you spread your breadcrumbs up there, wasn’t it? That’s it. No, sorry. No, no, no, no. Come on. You’re the player. Yeah, boy. I better take a few shots now. both putting for birdie. I see it’s a bit left to right, but this was downhill again. Oh, is he not in there? Stop. Stop. Stop. Oh my goodness. Slopey, isn’t he? Stop. Stop. Oh my. There we go. Wow. This is a chance. Chances for Johnny Fenley and putting the brakes now. I can’t. Has he let me in? Has he let me in? Has the full press worked? The high press. Jim, we put the eye press on. Yeah. Has he has he uh That’s about there. I tell you that swings a lot. It’s going to dive at the end and it’s coming a bit downhill. Yeah, it’s a bit downhill from about here. So, I reckon I’m not going to try and get it in the I’m going to try and get it in the hole. I’m just going to try and get it near dead pace. I want it that What does that mean? So, I don’t want it racing past. I want you to imagine basically imagine the holes here. Yeah. Okay. That’s all I need. Absolutely. Ding in that front end. And then just so it’ll just feed round here and then just dying into this. Okay. Left hand edge. Imagine the holes here. Yeah, Johnny boy. Stay up, John. Take a little Bob. It’s all right. Well done. Good three. Good three, John. Take it away, mate. I’ll just have it. Brilliant, mate. Just have it for practice. Yeah. Well done, mate. Johnny Fenley. Oh, Tiger. I can transpar the ball, please. Well done. What do you want? They don’t want the ball as well, dear. For a bit of care. Sorry. Where he’s button up here. Yeah. Just so you know, when you get your boy out, try not to tread on his life. Okay. Do you not me? Yeah. Sorry. No, no, you don’t have to apologize. I just It’s the lessons. It’s all lessons. That’s why I told you cuz otherwise if you don’t know, you know, and that could cost me, couldn’t it? Well, no. No. It’s just a bit of et Come on. Come here. Let’s hope he misses this. How’s that for a cut? Yeah. Well done. Yeah. Well done. We’ll let you have that one, Peter. This goes back to five shots. This is a good good game. It’s a great format. This is a good format. Pull one back. Come on. John still need five shots. Put the edit that. Your honor, John. You won the O. He is. Thanks, Peter. Well, I remember Jim from last time we play. You said get have a look get behind the ball and have a little look at where you’re hitting actually where you’re hitting it which is is something again that look I just think it’s easier to aim at something 3 foot in front Yeah. than like 160 down there. Do you get what I mean? So that’s you see a lot of the pros like line up with say a bit a divot or a bit of a leaf stone or just left of a divot whatever. Oh, I fancy you to strike it. It’s all right. Go on then. Get down. It’s down there. Hit the floor before, didn’t you? Yeah. After three or four lessons, you’re not going to come. It’s just the hardest game in the world with that one. John, I love it. I love his response. So, what we did, remember that he wants to pin out here. I want you feeling like you’re bringing it a little bit more on a circle, on an arc. So we were out there. Yeah. And then we know with you, you carry on over the top and then open it. Yeah. Coming in here was just allowing you to keep that place face square and then just turn through it and get your belly button towards the flag. Oh, hit the floor a bit. Love it, Peter. It’s a bit chance. Oh, he’s in the drunk. Is that in the ditch? In the ditch. He’s on the Let’s get down there, boys. Let’s go. Come on. Oh, me a ditch. Get the bloody armbands out, Peter. Meet your ditch. No. Got a pitching wedge. Strike. If you just going to I’m just going to going to approach it. I’m just going to play it as I see it. Little bit less fault. All what Tom told you on the range. Yes. But a little bit more movement over your ball. He gets a bit static on you, doesn’t he? Moving it into Phil. And just remember that that grip pressure is gonna help you with feeling loose. So that’s it. Grip pressure. Five. One. Look. Pull the trigger. Okay. Just get over. Get over. Get over. Get over. Oh, there’s your Barry. Bounce straight over it. That’s all right. She plays brother. You can’t teach those kind of [ __ ] That was awesome. Hey, hold up. Skip and jump, son. So, where did it go? In here or Yeah, it went right in here. So, I can drop here. It’s under the li. It’s in that swamp, is it? So, this is my full shot, right? No. No. Third. Drop two. Play three. Playing three. Soft hands like Colin Montgomery said. Nice Pete. Cracking strike just nutted it. Oh, has it gone through? She’s gunned it. She’s had a little bit too much juice on her. Oh man, this is costly. I thought that was good. Oh, here. Go on then. Ah, you just tried to help it in the air, I feel. Yeah, I didn’t mean to. I just was I just um No, I I just wasn’t a mile away. Look, you got it close. Come on. Okay, come on. That’s all right. I’m just going to go I’m going to go and play. Nudge it on. Oh, for sake. Just again, just in the ground. Yeah. Okay. Don’t try and help it in the air. Hit down on it with this one. Exactly what Jim said. And I want you to imagine that you’ve got a towel under both your armpits. You’re going to keep it pinched. All right. And then you’re just literally going to turn with your chest. So, we don’t need to move our body left and right. We just need to turn with our chest. Just I’ve hit that on the uh Little bomb, but she’s dancing. It’s on the ground. Come on. Sand wedge. Ben Roth. Sand wedge. Leaning to the left. One inch before the ball. Nice stroke. Come on. Oh, he’s nuted it into the other one. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh no. Lucky Peter. Oh, what a shot. Good shot. Oh, I needed that. That was painful. And that will happen in golf. You think you’re playing well and then it hits you straight in the codswallops. So this one we’re trying to get it to the hole and in and around the hole. Okay. Been given a couple couple back by tubes. So take advantage of that. Settle down. Settle down. Settle down. Settle down. Good putt. Good putt, lad. Good job. Not a bad part at all. I tell you what, your putting’s got a lot better since the first. Well, he’s helped, doesn’t it? When you you got a coach, but can repeat. See, the thing is when you’ve got a shot that’s repeatable, although I’m not doing it, you can actually like get a bit confidence. Like when you get a shot like that that I’ve never hit in my life, it’s like you don’t know what you’re doing, do you? No. This is why I need to go on a golf course and just play golf, don’t you? And then learn without and just find it. Find it yourself a little bit. Yeah. Right. Nightmare hole after a fantastic start. This is for a seven. This has pulled you right back in it, John Boy. I’m telling you, he’s opened the door for you here, lad. This is getting spice off the movie. Eight. Six. Yes, John. Boy, on six. Pulling it back. Good two, P. Still doesn’t know. Still doesn’t know. Still doesn’t know. Yeah. Right. I got that wrong. We got a bit excited. Seven on that. Was it? Yeah. Seven trees. It’s all right. In the woods. Look, Ch’s got an eight. That’s how tough it was. Yeah. Listen, we’re on one. We’re on 90 yards. I think you get one up and around. How long How many shots have I got left? Three. You got two left. Two left. Two left. So, you 90 yard. Come on. What? We look What? 99. get right up. Who’s got the keys to my or and in this case to Stey’s car to explain it? Yeah. Bas basically basically go on Jim. Basically Steve’s left his keys into his car. So he was singing, “Who’s got the keys to my beamer?” And I went, “Out’s car.” He’s left his keys in his car. Yeah. Right. Which is keyless. Which is the the madness of it all. It lost his lost his keys to a keyless car. If it’s keyless, you can’t got a key to lose. Yeah. Absolutely. Yeah. Coming out the way. Oh, what a boy. See, I keep forgetting I’m playing Pete cuz I’m playing the course. I’m just playing the course. No. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That’s cool. 50 yards. I know what course got a sand iron. Cuz these Ben Ross clubs are going some. Um, you’re striking them, ain’t you? You love them, didn’t I? Wasn’t until that last. He wants them set made up. doozy. Oh, he’s got Oh, no. Oh. Oh, just shy. Tit the tree on the way up. How do you got it up there? Come on, get back on it. Don’t let the confidence Don’t let the confidence go. That was picked. Oh, that that was a golf shot. Now that is a look how quick these are. Oh my god. A real one. Man’s been active in France. Man’s been active in France. I reckon I tell you what, you have this John. Yeah. It’s not worthing. No. I think Yeah. All right. Little bump run n absolutely. Like honestly, it’s such a tough shot. Yeah. So you’re just using Yeah. Because I’m not sure. What you’re saying is like you it could it’s an hard shot for you this as well. Yeah, it’s just a ridiculous hard shot. So I think you got to give me a shot where I fancy it cuz otherwise that I’m telling you now if you get that on the green quick golf that’s you done. That’s how tough this shot is, isn’t it? Absolutely. Like there’s no stopping that all running away from you. Just going to just going to look to sort of think like so cricket bat it cricket cricket bat it in like a sort of little ponty shuffler. A little punchy. Exactly. A punchy shuffler. He’s like sounds like a character from Pey Blinders, don’t he? Oh, right. Get on that punchy shuffler. [Laughter] They’re getting further and further away, aren’t they? The wor the worse my golf gets. They’re getting like Oh, you I’ve done it again. You see, I’ve not hit the ball. I know. You just hitting under it. What you’re doing is just leaning back. Stay on it. It’s so frustrating for me. I want you to strike the ball first. Yeah. Hit down on it. I mean, don’t hit under it. You’ve already got the loft. Don’t try and help it. Yeah. Good shout. better. There you go. Wow. There you go. Settle down. Wait, wait. I’m sorry. Oh, it’s swung back. That could be a Jimmy Bullard shot, I reckon. Is he just run after it? Absolutely. Wait, Tom. I’m sorry. Don’t worry about Right. You want me in here, John boy? Hey, you want me? You want me in here? I’d love you in here, please. A bit of viva Spanish hands for you, Jimbo. Required. This one you just got to get out of the bunker to get If you can just I’d like to I’d like it in the hole if you can, Jim, cuz Oh, no. Hey. Oh, is it further away? It bounced. It bounced. It’s all right. I can rescue it. Look. Go on then. What you said? What you done? One good thing is Well, I’m getting low. I’m getting more shots. Pant it. Pant it. The old pant shot, young boy. Done it again. May I can I do get rid of a bit of that? Yeah, you can touch anything around the ball as long as it don’t move. Can I Can I move that? Yeah. Yeah. Oh, no. It moved. Bit detritus. Okay. So, I’ve got up left to right. Got to give it a little bit. Yeah. Go on. Go on. Get up there again. I’ve not I’ve not hit that properly. It just just catch it, did you? I didn’t hit it properly. No. My fault. Looking at you a bit hesitant where didn’t hit it properly. But it’s always going to be tough coming through this stuff. Yeah, but if I had hit it properly, it would have come through better, wouldn’t it? A little bit. I can’t blame that. If that was on a green and I hit it the same way, I still wouldn’t have hit it properly. And that’s on me. I’m back in. The mid handicapper is back in. Come on. A par here would upset the Fenners camp. A lovely pot. Lovely put. I tell you what, we have a little bushes that one. Absolutely. Little bit of meat on that one. Long goal. That one’s not a game. Look. All right. Look at that one. Right. Fennas. This is a big part in the match. Is it? Yeah. Big part. Come on, Fennas. Definitely left to right. Yeah. Oh, yeah. All day, mate. I think it’s left to right. And I’m thinking I’m thinking I’m like I’m sort of going around about here. Yeah. You got it. Yeah. Yeah. But needs a little bit. It does wing needs a little bit. They break these, don’t they? Oh, this is honestly they got some serious movement on course. Gonsky. Oh, sit down. Settle down, John. Right lip. Come on. Just outside the right. absolute out. Take your time. Take your time. Just nothing. Wasting shots. Come on. Give you that one. Come on. He’s going to give you one. Take it away. Let me just have it. Let me just have it for practice. See, when you say I can have them, you should just tell me I can have them over there cuz I sink them for fun. Can you have the Yeah. Oh, it’s gone. Look at them. Look at them laughing. They’re laughing at me, aren’t they? The Ben the Ben Ross crew over there. You’ve got to get on them. You all right? Absolute boy band ever. Go on the boy band. Well done Pete in. That was a big hole. Another swung the other way. Three holes to play. Yes, Pester. And we are level shots. Really? Yeah. Right. You’ve got Jimmy Bullard. One shot left. Right. And again, another tough shot. It’s me first. 137 y. It’s gone left. It’s gone left. Stop. Right. You got one shot left. Yeah. How do you want to play it? I want you to play it. You sure? Yeah. He’s let us in. We’re even Stevens. Okay. Get me close. I’ll try, son. You got a ball. Would help, wouldn’t it? What’s the yardage, John Boy? 137. Yeah. 137. Come round on that. Jimmy Bullard here could capitalize. Lovely. That’s lovely. That’s lovely. Oh, he skipped out. Yeah, it’s come out the I hit the rake and jumped out of it. Peculiar bounce on it. Doing awesome. I don’t know. But straight at it, was it? That was pining 3000. Got better than me. I tell you, it’s front edge. I think I think we just got It’s not a problem. Come on, bit. Little kiss. Found the bunks. I’ve really got to commit to this. Just a big lip there. Come on, open the club face. Oh, what a Stop. Stop. I know. I’m taking that. Needed it. Come on. Right. Go on, Tom. Just tell him where you want it. So, we just want to roll it up somewhere here. Yeah. Because then it’s going to catch that bit. But if we can close the bunker, John five 58T left of it. Gives us a good little look and carry on sort of thing. Just going to be all speed. Be brave. Get it close to that trap. Go on. Settle down. Settle down. Taking it. It’s a great effort. I tell you what, though. It’s a great ef for that. Tell you what, boys. And nearly went a What a shot. Hey, tip the cat. Well, watch that. Tip the quite. They’re quite disturbing. I know. Yeah. Quite disturbing. Just lurking in the bushes. Yeah. Doing a photo shoot for Matalan or something. It’s like doing photo shoot for Matalan or something. AZ for a pile. We have a laugh. Oh, he’s knobbled one out. Oh, I tell you what. Going through a little jumper. Right. Right. If Come and hold it, John boy. Come on. You all right? Do you need a massage? I think you told your bum strength. Oh, I ruined ours with that [ __ ] Seems you told me every time. Love it. Right. Left to right. Just inside his ball quite a bit inside. Get it going over here, John. Yeah. Yep. Yeah. Love that. Slightly uphill, John. Oh, Johnny boy. Good park effort. Stop. Well played, John. Yeah. Yeah. Take it away, mate. I just Sorry. I brought the part, please, John. Sorry. I know. This is This is the problem, isn’t it? It’s like when you’re kids, I suppose, isn’t it? Like sharing sharing things. My goodness. Oh my goodness. This is to tie the match, right? Style square. You don’t miss. Great top piece. Doesn’t miss. Two holes to play. It is all square. Tom, there we go. How do you think your client’s done? He’s done well. First time out on a course soon. He’s not having match. We’re still in game actually. It’s in game mode, mate. That’s what happens, mate. When you play level tough school is just come back from Sass, right? And remember, you got life legends. Make sure you go and follow Ben Roth’s Instagram account because on the final episode, like I said before, you could win some serious serious prizes. Oh, little giveaways. Yeah. Yeah. John’s trying to try and break 50 after nine holes. Um, this ain’t over this, by the way. Eight iron. 147. Oh, it’s great. It’s great. Peter, got to go a fraction. Oh, short. Not a lot. Just right. Maybe it was seven. Right, John, you brought out the hybrid love. Listen to that sound. Sound of a beautiful chaff inch. Oh, yeah. I have brought out the hybrid, Peter. What’s the hybrid song? Bring me that hybrid love. Oh, yeah. Bring me a hybrid love. Oh no. Okay. Right. Remember, remember remember just enjoy it. Enjoy the fun. Yes. Got it. That’s all right. There we go. Come on. So Tom here, am I looking just to make clean contact or am I looking to like, you know, like Jim was talking about like punching down on it to squirt it out? But so, so with this shot, it’s more about contacts. We’re on an up slope. So if you think about if you’re going and punting into the back of it, you’re just driving into the back of this ground. Yeah. Which then you’re just going to fat. So yeah, just focusing on on contact here and then putting a a good swing on it. Okay. And position. Yeah. Um is this a similar to like the one in the trees where I’m sort of So with weight on the left with a slope you want to basically have the angle of the slope in your shoulders. So you’ll create leaning a little bit but not too much. So you’re still trying to keep our weight sort of fairly similar, but you might just angle your shoulders a little bit. So just going to go this way. So a little bit lower for me. So we’re not turning. Okay. Sorry. Settle to that one. And then we’re just going to go that way a little bit. Okay. So do I need to move the position of my feet or not? Are they all right? No. No. Feet. Feet look good. I see. Why is that? Yeah. Why is that just gone on the floor? So that one along the floor, that’s basically our belly button not getting to the target. So we’re not getting left and we’re just coming and leaning back, making our right foot heavy. These are the shots that scare me, but I am not going to let this scare me. Got it over over the green. Come on, John Boy. Open it up. Okay. So, I’m opening it up. Yeah. Yeah. And but I’m still going to hit through it. Yeah. Yes. So, we’re opening it. And we’re still going to keep the weight forward. You can feel a little bit like your hands are just slightly lower. So, if we shuffle a little further away from the ball for me away or like there. Yeah. to knead it on the front here and then just pop in that face like that. So if you let go of your grip a little bit. There we go. Perfect. Oh boy. Golf shot. Hey, there he is. Hey, come on. He’s in. He’s in. He’s pulled out a fire. We can still do this, Jim Bob. Come on. I know your f is coach, but my confidence around the greens trying to chip on is but to putt through that is tough, isn’t it? Yeah, that’s like putter is not an option in any No, just cuz there’s so much thick garbage to go through. Come on. Hang on. So lucky that just caught the raft, didn’t it? Nearly. Nearly. Oh, that’s great. Good put, Pete. A really good putt. Look how slippery that is. Well done. Cheers, mate. Great put, mate. Thank you, John. I’ll tell you what now then. This one’s slippery down there. Seeing that one mido in the holes here, in it. I think you could even potentially go just slightly shorter. I think when it gets to that point, that’s when it’s going to keep dribbling. Yeah. Yeah. So, looking to put to that spot to about here. Yeah. That’s kind of wing there. On that kind of line there. going to wing that way. I’d say about here. Yeah, it’s just going to go that way. Settle down. Wow. Settle down. Settle down. Oh my. Stop. Stop. Stop. That’s gone away. So quick. Is it in the in the such a great vlog? It’s so hard. It is a ridiculous. Come on with precision. You can do it, boy. Ball. Inch behind the ball. I don’t inch. Open it up. Inch behind the ball. Go on. just started having a breakdown. [Applause] Oh, it’s all fun, isn’t it? just just by find the middle golf, baby. Up the Ben Ros. I mean, he has got better. I have brought him down to the hardest par three in the world. Uh it is a brutal course as we’re both finding it up the golf life. Up the Ben Ross. Just sort of going to go I was going to go see where the shadow of the flag is. Yeah. Yeah. Point rapid. Yeah. Goal that we’re trying to roll it through. Okay. Really? Yeah. We’re going football. Okay. So, rolling it through there, but probably looking to only get it to around here. Okay. Yeah. You weren’t going to do the same there, was you? No, no, no. That was it. That’s going to sit. This is awesome. No, it’s not awesome. This is awesome. Why you making So good. Just just fine. I’m all right. Come on, John Boy. Bang it up the hill. That is that is this is that remote control and deck in the bushes and deck in the bushes. Oh, that is so funny. That is the most ridiculous screen I’ve ever seen. Baby, come on, boy. Come on. Just get it in. Come on, John. Oh, no. Coming back. Coming back. He’s going to roll back. Oh no. Tell you what, it’s good practice, though. It That’s why we’re here, boy. Well done. Okay, take it away. Take it away. You’re not giving me that on the last. Take it. Yeah, that big old shoe and went there. We go double or crit on the last hole. Double double on the last. So, there is a chance. That’s what it’s about though, is it? I love that. Good laugh with friends. Yeah. So, John, what happened last? So, that was uh that’s golf. That was golf. That is golf. Um I’m not very experienced. Um but that was the highs and lows of golf there in that one in that one uh that one hole. But um so you you you’ve won. Yeah, you’ve won. I I’d say I’m a few shots ahead. Yeah. What I think we should do it’s the ninth hole to make it interesting is if you’re up for it to make it interesting for old Golf Bled Legends is um I’d like to suggest an idea where we play a bit sudden death. So it’s Jimmy and Tom. I’m going to both tea off with with my ball. Yeah. Separate balls of course. Sounds very favorable for you. Well, yeah. And then what we do is we pick we pick the or I I select the best the best shot, right? And then I um Well, hopefully just tap it in from three feet. Um but uh so but I just What do you say? That’s fantastic. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Great. Get a bit feel good feeling for yourself. I But I I think on a whole from the first series, from the first episode to the second episode, I would say your golf has got better. I mean, what would you say? What would you say, boys? Definitely. Definitely. There’s some good strikes in there. Couple of habits that obviously we see. You got to get rid of a few habits. Yeah. But too long over the ball drives me mad. John, you’re a better sportsman than that. Must be very frustrating for you. Oh, I have been frustrated watching cuz I know you get at it. Do you get what I mean? He’s g you some tips. Get at it. What I need to do, I need to go out and play. Just go and play balls out there play and go and play. Yeah, you got your clubs. Get out there and do a bit. Yeah, because you got to break 50 in the final episode and the golf life legends are counting on you cuz they can win some big prizes. The thing is, however awful I might have been today, I actually think that I can do it. Boy, I can do it. You can do it. We’re all behind you, mate. We want you. Can I just say thanks to Ben Ross for sorting me out those clubs because they are top draw and I promise I will put them to much better use next time I’m out on the course. You watch me bring it in. Come on. Here we go. Last hole. I’m up against Tom and Jimmy. So you’re going Yeah. Yeah. Uh wedge puffins here. Oh, he likes it. He’s had a look. He’s had a look. That was picked. Little bit of spin. Nice. Pressure, mate. That’s a good pressure sand. It’s on the green. A little bit of room in there. Here’s your coach. Come on, coach. Just a bit much, I reckon. I reckon that’s money. It’s [Music] been he called it. Shouldn’t have given you that coke. It would have got a bit of juice on it. Yeah. Would it? Yeah. Right John, it’s all down to you and your put in. Let’s get to the green. Think I’m closing, Zo, lad. This has got free dabs all over it. Come on then. It’s a big pot. The Ben Ross Invitational. Ben Ross Invitational. It’s too much. Got those breadcrumbs, lads. Just here, boy. Just going to stay straight till she loses the speed. Got it. Yep. Oh, yes. Go, go, [Music] go. Boy, that have been a bully center double. Right, I’ve got this pot. Take it away, John. Well played, mate. He don’t miss. Oh, I rolled it in. Unbelievable. Loved it so much, mate. Tom, thank you so much, Jimmy. Different class, boys. Well done, Tom. Thank you so much. Not a problem at all, Jimmy. And again, massive, massive thanks to Ben for sorting this out. Thank you so much, mate. Thank you so much. Brilliant, John. The final episode is coming soon. Can you break 50 over nine holes? You got Tom here helping you. You’ve got the main man, Jimmy, here behind you. It’s happening. Do it. When is it? When is it? Few weeks time. Come on. Come on. The golf. There we go.

  1. Mad that most of these comments are about fenders and not those obscene greens on an academy course! Absolutely solid even for tubes

  2. That looks a Tough little par 3 course that, got to be somewhere easier to take him and maybe play a scramble, surprised that even with Jimmy and a coach there not once did anyone say take a couple of practice swings??? But wait until he hits that one shot that makes you fall in love with golf and hopefully it’s on camera 🙏🏻

  3. No one wants see fenners except fenners , the guy has a inflated ego of himself, tried to pull Jimmy away to do some football channel so he gets his mug on here too.

  4. I enjoyed it but fenners is a bit out there lads!
Ps and qs and long winded bants is not really needed. But hey his learning and everyone gotta start somewhere. ❤
    Good luck fenners

  5. Didn’t watch the whole thing but I find this a massive issue with coaching.

The coach has got about 15 swing thoughts running through Fenners’ head, easily the worst thing you can get a beginner to do.

Golf doesn’t have to be complex. Get basic fundamentals in place and then find something that works by hitting ball after ball.

Coach has killed him before he’s even started.

Only other worse thing is his clobber. 🤢

  6. Fenners seems like a nice bloke, but I do find him a bit irritating in front of a camera. Soccer AM was never going to work long term with him as the main presenter.

  7. Love fenners but if tom can get him under 50 in 9 holes he should get a OBE. Keep going though fenners. Practice makes perfect

  8. Fenners should not be allowed on a golf course. Not because of his golf, that will come with patience and time and everybody starts somewhere. He should not be allowed on a course because of those trousers – an absolute shocker!!! 🙂 Good lad Fenners, keep up the golf son!!

  9. I can vouch for how hard the par 3 course at Foxhills is – I took a 15 (bunker to bunker shots) on one of the holes and the greens are madness – especially the 2nd an 3rd holes

  10. I’m sorry but who let Fenners leave the house in that get up 😮 his cap is too big and not on straight? All his kit is way too big I don’t not understand how an adult dresses this way for a round of golf!

  11. Couldn't watch it all, i seen the comments and just fast forwarded to 8th hole for the meltdown.
The idea of getting a complete novice on and seeing them have lessons, following their progress is brilliant. But that guy is seriously annoying. Isn't funny in the slightest and comes across full of himself.

He'll never get anywhere, he's not interested in getting better, just trying to force laughter constantly.

  12. I'm just here for Fenners clobber! Good job and respect for taking lessons, good luck with your golf journey, relax and enjoy a good walk, being great is not really important. Rocking the hammer pants too, can't touch this!

  13. Fenners is pure comedy gold. Get the man signed up. Or ask him if he wants to starts golf channel with me 😂

  14. What’s the point of fenners having matey boy as a coach??? Just have jimmy coach him

  15. Great talker…. ADHD written all over him. Loved him on soccer am when he could edit himself. Totally harmless but hard work unless you’re on his side. (Same could be said for Tubes tbf) Jim carrying the torch as usual! More Jim and proper golfers less meh please 🙏 x

  16. Very hard learning the game of golf never mind under the spot light of cameras. I felt for Fenners in this video. Keep practicing mate and get out and play as much as possible. Walk some holes with that coach just the two of you no pressure. Good luck
