Our FINAL MATCH – Peter Finch v Matt Fryer – Pinehurst #10

This is Pinehurst number 10. Opened at the start of [music] 2025. With its stunning views, fast greens, and dramatic elevation, it is the perfect location to play host to the final battle between myself [music] and Peter Finch. The pal machine’s back, folks. Don’t you worry. Don’t you worry. Raise to the bar. So far, we’ve had some epic battles this year, but who will be [music] crowned the champion of 2025 in this final showdown? [music] Who would have thought it moving into 2026 that I would be the complete player? Feels like something’s [music] turning in the right direction. Nice couple of foots hold. And that is all over it. Spin. Come on. Go on. Go on. Go on. Go on. Here we are. First hole. 400 yds. Par 4. Pinehurst number 10. We’re freshly Oh, you’ve gone z cord as well. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I know. You inspired me. >> You got the align though. >> Well, I’m going to This is coming out next year, I think, in the the jumbo as well. Going jumbo. Golf pride have >> kindly got us out here for >> the final match of the year, folks. Possibly the biggest match in YouTube golf. >> Shall we I don’t know what the the record is. I know you’ve been beaten the last two times, I think. >> Yes. >> Shall we just call this like the decider of the year? So, this is it. This is decides who’s >> This is the biggest game in golf. >> Um, you going first as you’re a home member here. Played here. Pete was out walking the course this morning cuz he just doesn’t want to lose. He will come up with a plethora of excuses. Do do forgo him though. But comment down below who. >> Unbelievable. I I was I was even I could have sat today out cuz I’m mortally injured. >> Fry was like, “No, I need to feed my kids this Christmas. >> Make sure you get out here.” >> If you haven’t seen it yet, go and watch the Wallacey match. It was just an exhibition. >> Don’t bother. And now we have come over here to the blessed lands that oak [laughter] crafted out of these sandy mines. >> All right, play well. Enjoy yourself. >> Yeah. >> A lie. >> Wow. >> The starter if you just replay the clip as well. Now he said you can’t miss the fairways here. We we we were told pretty specifically it’s almost impossible. >> We have the widest fairways in Pineher. So it’s almost impossible to miss a fairway here. >> But if you do miss a fairway, we have no out of bounds. >> Right then. >> Oh, that was almost on the 18th. I just wanted to give you a look what the 18th was like. [snorts] >> Play well, Matthew. >> What I’m hoping for today, I’m really play by the way. really hoping to annoy the crap out of him with [clears throat] horrendous golf and an incredible short game and just like make him lose his mind. Steel dome. Yeah, just Yeah, I think he’s just a bit >> decent kick. I think that I think he goes like a bit scrubby that way. >> Look at him trying to talk us out of it being a bad shot. That is down there. 270 for the run out. Took a little squeezy fade. >> Yeah, it’s in the waist. >> Basically one up. >> We’re playing stroke play. >> Playing stroke play. >> But I do want this to be like one of the match play matches I had like we had when we were kids and juniors where you played someone who was horrendous. Yeah. >> But just couldn’t stop getting up and down. You play great. Miss every put and then by the 16th you’re just crying cuz you can’t understand why you’re five behind. >> It’s not going to happen. >> I’ve had my 12th paracetimal of the day. [laughter] I’ll send the lads into the shops. Get the Advil. >> And we got a transfusion. >> Got a land. >> No. >> What about >> Well, actually, I have got a couple of options. So, I can go here with a slice or I can go there with a hook. 189 yards. Frier, I’ve got a slope on. Do >> you want to improve your light as well? I I could do pine straw. 189. Right. What do we think? Hook. >> Hook. >> Hook. Hook. Hook. I think a hook would get it down there. I think a slice is I suppose the hook starts further right of the danger. But as long as I get it over there, there is the next tea down there. So, wouldn’t be the end of the world. Go, go, go, go. Short. >> Yeah, that’s pretty good. Just short the green on it. Not bad, though. In all fairness for the T-shot went, I can’t complain too much about that one. >> 145. Obviously missed the fairway in the widest fairways in golf. It’s not that wide. Honestly though, this one’s not. >> This narrow I did kick right when it landed. So, but >> you do have this option around like again this is from memory from earlier on this year. Like if you do come into this rough stuff, you can get unlucky and obviously finish behind one of these clumps or in these clumps, but >> yeah, it’s not too bad. 145 for me. Just 99 about 10 foot left and let it come back hopefully. Whoa. >> I did that thing, you know, where you nick the club on the way back. >> Oh wow. >> Yeah. Long of the screen is actually dead. >> It’s okay. >> You are deceased. >> I am deceased. >> Have a Christmas message for Matt, please. >> It was a >> Christmas appeal. >> That was okay. Strike was all right. Just shut the fire. >> Uh, okay. Frier is in Netherland down there. It’s gone about an extra 40 yards on. Okay, so just going to do a chip and run. The greens here, even though it is December, they are quick. Try a little chip and run and up and down here. Annoy him so much. the right way. >> Get in. >> What stab that was? >> I feel better. >> Come on, Pete. Wake up. It >> get up. [snorts] [laughter] You know what? What normally helps at the start of these videos is like a really good first hole to like get grasp retention and get people all pumped up about what’s to come. >> Well, off that first T- shot, I didn’t think I’d be uh chipping for par. >> Don’t do it. >> I’ll do it then. Do it. Oh, I’m glad I glad I hit a nice shot down the first tea and ended up dead. >> Okay, short game display so far from the two Englishmen. >> It will get better. We promise. It’s nice. Nice. It’s nice. >> Yeah, the greens are quick. Good five. >> This to uh remain level with you. >> You think that would be happening? >> Are we doing gimmies? >> We can do gimmies at a golf pride grip length today. >> Okay. >> Oh, you like that? >> That was woring to say the least. It’s been a long week. All right. >> Stay up. It’s going to be a seven. Oh my god. What the? I have been truly pinehursted. Can I return all the merch I’ve just bought? I don’t like this. [laughter] >> You sold me a dream. >> Well done. >> Steel one behind. I did not see that coming. Absolute punch to the package. F is going to lose his mind today. I can see how this is going to go. [snorts] I can see it really clearly in my mind. I’m like visualizing it where I’m like I get round in a like a two over there. Scrappy like zero greens in regulation, but I managed to get it round. And then Fry’s going to play pretty well from here on in and shoot like six over and just lose his mind. And like he’s saying, he’s not really going to drink too much from today. He’s going to drink. 122. Play 124 apparently. Uh now, if my memory serves me right, you’re looking at just keeping this. If you pull it a bit, there’s a big slope. Um I knew I was going to be in trouble. I was absolutely cruising on the range like frozen rope and then I decided just to have a complete mind spaf here on the first hole. But 17 more holes to go. I’m playing Pete Finch. So basically I needed to give him a head start just to be fair. >> I’m I’m Thank you. Yeah, you’re a good guy. >> I’m going to do him now. I’m going to do him. I’m going to do him, Jeff. Skinny. >> Straight to the bar. No. Stay. >> Come off. Come off. Come off. Do it. Do it for me. Do it. No. Didn’t [snorts] >> Oh, man. I just thought I was going to be suppose it is a bit cold in it, but where you going with wedge? >> Wedge? >> Yeah. >> 124 you say? >> Yeah. The third the middle of those little mini pines go as well a bit. >> Go. >> Wow. >> Electric standard here. Electric. >> Pretty happy with it if I’m being honest with you. Bit of a misjudgment there, but a lot of the greens are like this. >> Are they? [snorts] >> Yeah. You got funnels and gaps. I could put mine up here. >> Yeah, the spin, >> right? >> It’s a put off. >> It’s a put off. Not low going on. Really all about pace here. Yeah, pretty good. Just jumped a little left as it went out, but I’m very happy with the pass control. Evac. >> Oh dear. Oh. >> Yeah. Mine went big left to begin with there. Just off this bank here. >> Right then, Pete. Mine was given, you say? >> Ly whiffy banter. I think there’s going to be a few today where like aiming at the pin. >> Obviously aiming at the pin’s good, but it’s not maybe the way to get it really close. Wow. >> Still you dead [laughter] cheap. Fair swing actually. Not ideal. >> No electric standard here down at the mine. All right. So, this remain all square. >> Yeah. Path five next. So, we might see a birdie. You never know. >> Hey, it’s just a warm-up pole. Would you class is this a parkland or a lynx? >> I I >> What would you class it as a Pineland? >> It’s You’d class it as a Parkland, wouldn’t you? But it’s so much more. I mean, >> it’s kind of like a Heathland, isn’t it? >> Yeah. >> Um I don’t know if they’ll have a variation because there are a lot of places in the States that are sandbased. So, >> whatever it is, it’s darn good. >> Yeah, it’s classic. >> Merry Christmas, everyone. >> Such an amazing spot. Let’s try and give you a Christmas eagle. >> Anyway, >> welcome back. >> Anyway, >> when when are you actually going to start releasing the chat that we have in between shots? >> This is the cuz that’s the channel that people will >> literally die for. >> It [snorts] would be it would blow everyone else’s out of the water, but you know, >> I mean, you’d you’d have just like one incredible year. >> Yeah. >> And then that’s it. But done. >> Probably be worth it. >> Anyway, our uh our fifth No, it’s our third hole and it is a par five. >> Yeah. It is 532 yards today, Pete. I’m assuming it sort of pivots a little bit to the left, but >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> Tall pines in the distance. >> Yeah. The actual I think you’ve got So, the tallest pine. >> Yeah. >> I think that’s absolutely perfect. I think you can go a bit further left, but >> Yeah. There he is. Yeah. I mean I I honestly that’s absolutely fine. I I remember this fairway being big. Really big. >> It bounced three times in it. If it’s not in the fairway. >> Yeah. If you managed to miss two of the first three fairways, that’s first two of the two. >> I did say eight was my goal to hit eight fairways. Style it out, brother. >> Just sit. >> Yeah, >> I just watched a bald eagle drop from the tree there. >> Who would have thought it moving into 2026 that I would be the complete player and Finch would just crumble? Now I’m going to be the man of the people and Finch is going to be pants. I’m okay. Okay. Remember, just job today is basically to stay in this. Just to stay in it. Manage your way around the course. Don’t do anything too stupid. So, I’m just going to hit six. I’m basically down towards the green. I just want to get it kind of through these two pines here. Oh gosh. I’m in a spot of bother here. All right. What was I saying? Don’t do anything too stupid. >> Stay in it. Not on the same hole. See you up there. Well, I don’t know whether I need to push this early on in the round cuz Pete’s just had a toe snipe. But I’ve got 263 to the flag. It’s cold. I think if I just get it up there, I can splash like a a bunker style shot on. So, the three would deta dead at it. See what we can do. No, perfect layup. necky. I’ve got it. I don’t know what I have. I don’t think anyone in the wilderest streams would call it it, but I have my ball and that’s the main thing. Okay, so again, just going to chip it. Really, the only flag is there. Um, I don’t I’ve not really got a lie or an angle to try and advance it that way. So, I’m just going to try and get it through this gap. If I squeeze it past that tree, hit it back on the fairway. Miss it. Yeah. Okay. Well, best shot of the day. [laughter] So, I’ve got I’ve got that going for me. Keep going. It’s the mantra of today. Just keep swimming. Stay positive. Try not to get down on myself too much. Um, okay. It’s lying on a bit of mud and this waste actually quite a bit away from the fairway. Go on. Go on. Get up there. It’s pretty good. Just sure. Got a chance. An unlikely chance for a par. God, that would make him angry. Kind like part of the goal for today is just to make him a bit angry. Like really frustrate him. Yeah, let’s do that. Right, Joe. Nice of you to get down here. Sorry, Pete’s taking you on a magical journey through Pinehurst. I’ve got a a 40 yard pitch. Just got to land it just over the the little hill and let it run out. Oh, spin. Sit. >> Oh, wow. That’s made me look terrible when that was really good. Bit of a funky kick on landing. >> It’s probably finished a bit further away than you wanted. >> Actually played that exactly how I wanted. just came out hot. What would be quite hurting now is if Pete drained his and I two pot and it’s like how have we just made five? I honestly can’t wait. I can’t see how this doesn’t go in. What about thro out, mate? >> Little bit perplexed there. Was very fast down the slope. Actually got faster up the slope. A scintillating standard here of the Frier Finch final. Probably should be our final game we ever play given the standard. That that needs to sit. This guy started a bit low. That it’s gone so far left. Still you >> so far left off the face there. >> I think that’s the wildest hole of golf I’ve ever seen you play. >> Well done, mate. Well done. >> The par machine’s back, folks. Don’t you worry. Don’t you worry. Right, then. Uh, fourth hole now is a par four. A little shorty. Is this drivable, Pete? >> Uh, it’s like 300 to the front. Um, so I’d say yeah, but >> today I’m not sure. >> He’s just not here now. 308. So I think we just go over the the pine here and and let it fly. >> Think so. I mean, you got all the world to the right side. Just got to miss that miss that bunker. But >> yeah, you have got the whole of Pinehurst, right? >> Yeah, there’s plenty of room out there, man. >> Unless you go the P and came back onto the fairway. You >> just just found another fairway there. >> Yeah, found another one. >> That’s good. >> In off the cush. I got a little bit scared of going left then. >> Wow. Wow. Wow. >> I actually think it’ll be all right. >> I got it. >> You see that yellow bit? >> Yeah. It’s >> like 10 foot left of that. >> Yeah, it’s not too bad. It’s just like again live. It’s going to be in the scrub. >> Not too bad. We were very fortunate with a little bit of help from our tall pine friend. My golf ball’s a little bit dented, but 87 yards now, which is a nice 54 just to the shoulder. Very happy with that. Could actually hear the spin when it landed into the grain. Right, got about what looks to be about 10 ft for birdie. So, be nice to get one back. I was getting a little bit worried there was a ball literally halfway up a tree, but it was a Pinehurst Prov. Trying to think what the best option here is. I think it’s kind of like almost safer going aerial, but I’d have to land this very close. I think 10 15t past it’s pretty good from here pitching on a down slope. That’s a great golf shot. Well played, sir. >> Well played. Yeah, nice putt. Dirty. >> Finally. Finally. >> We’re started. >> Needed that for great shots. Just need to need to be there. Thereabouts for us. >> Oh, lovely. >> All right. >> Lovely. >> Needed that. Wow. Stay in it. Just stay in it. That’s how the biscuit’s made, folks. Scores are up there. You’ll see them. You’ll notice there is only two in it. As we go on to our fifth hole, I must say the course is it’s not like a normal pine one. Two is obviously a lot flatter, lot less undulating. Greens are completely different, but it is uh it is truly an amazing and it’s thanks to you guys watching that we get to do things like this. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart. And if you haven’t already, make sure you subscribed. And thank you to Golf Pride for having out in Pinehurst. Truly, it’s the best I’ve I’ve played. Hands down. Hands down. >> Yeah. It’s a bit of a weird one there. So, you can kind of go over. So, over this first bunker here. >> Yeah. >> But I’m almost I think I’m right [snorts] in saying that when you pitch over this bunker, you like hit a down slope. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> And he kind of fires it towards those two. You’re almost better hitting a shot which is going to be short right of that. It’s only going to leave you like 130 in. >> How far do you need to hit it then? >> Like max carry 251 to the front of that back bunker on the right. >> Oh, so there is fairway over this trap here. >> Yeah. I mean, if you really wanted to be super aggressive, well, you could go that way. >> Yeah. >> And I just fire straight over the corner of the trees. >> That’s what I thought the uh the shot was. >> I Yeah. and give it a go. Hey, listen. It’s your game. Do whatever the hell you want. Oh, it’s warming up a bit. Oh, that’s nice. >> Yeah, it’s lovely now. >> Wow. Okay, so what’s that take me? That takes me to three over now. What are you? One, two. >> I am one. >> All right, the dance [snorts] is on. It too far to the right. It’s probably into that scrub, I think. >> Yeah, it’s a bit off. Weird this hole. Like I thought that was going to come down at those pines, but it’s like bounced on the fairway. >> Yeah, it’s kind of >> a bit throwing that like the undulation of it. >> I think it again from memory, it’s kind of hard to hit it far enough left. >> Yeah. >> Like everything just >> wasn’t really the shot that >> drags it this way. >> You got the right club out. That’s lovely. Yeah. All right. I’m just going to try >> nurse it round. >> I’m going to try and plot it a bit. Yeah. I think soon as it gets to the top with that there’s going to be a few holes where I can’t not hit driver but kind of gets to the top and it feels >> it just feels like really really weak. Yeah. I don’t know what I’ve done the last few weeks my shoulders have been caning. Had a few paracetamol today. It’s kind of dulled it but it just feels yeah >> sore >> sore but just like I don’t know. I’ve never had any issues like like shoulders before. >> You’ve had plenty of issues. >> Sorry. >> You’ve had plenty of issues. >> Yeah, but they’re all mental, aren’t they? Like I don’t I don’t think this is psychosmatic. It might be. Okay. 152. This can’t be my usual pickup and blaster. That pin must be towards the back. Um 152 a little bit into wind. Do me a favor. Kick off that bank if you can. >> Yeah, I think that’s going to be good or um >> I heard the splatter as if it had landed on the green. >> Yeah, I I can’t quite remember where it is. I think there is a slope there, but not sure. Bit of a tuggy one. Right, 126. cuz I’ve got pitching wedge out cuz it feels like there’s a bit of wind. I’m going to grip down and 3/4 just to try and muscle it forwards out of this stuff. >> Be a number, please. >> Be good. >> Should be very good. I just love playing golf out here. My first like resort experience in America. And it is it’s questioning me whether I need to go back to the UK or not. What? [laughter] You know the ship amusement when you’re laughing before the ball lands. >> Not your best work, but >> wait till you see the replay. Double bounce. >> It’s like 90 degree bounce left. >> Oh well. A little bit of left to right for me up the hill. It’s about 18 foot. I actually pitched about 10 foot away. And zip back cuz I’m an elite strikist. Travel. Travel. Oh, just ran out of pace. Take it though. Simple four. >> It’s within a grip. You can take it if you want. >> No. Well, funky hole. That one sort of threw me off the tea. >> But actually playing it back, I’d maybe go three-wood and similar shot in. But >> interesting one. >> Yeah, very interesting. A contrast number two for shell. Anyway, Pete’s tidy up 5T. Very good roll, sir. End over end stuff. Never looked anything like a fall that one. Nothing but a fall. Sorry, I [laughter] should say. >> Thanks. >> I was trying to be nice then and sort of just >> It’s just like an automatic reflex for you. There’s something in Matt’s brain then that actually stopped him from giving a compliment. >> Great. Always look like a Ford. Just add not in there, Matt. Just add not. >> All right. Come on. Feels like Feels like something’s turning in the right direction. Nice couple of puts hold. He’s just staying in it. Like that was a really really rough start. And I’m just trying to feel my way into this now. 437 yards is this hole. I can see what I think is the flag sort of down in the down in the valley there. It’s like dog leg left to right. >> Yeah, fairly big dog leg really. >> Yeah. again. You’ve got uh a run out >> telegraph poles in the distance. And >> so that line you got about Yeah. two >> You got like 29 280 to them, but I think it will kick into them as well. So you got to be like cutting it off that. >> Yeah. And then run out on the fairways 330. But it’s all downhill. So >> Okay. What about really out the neck? I >> just say it sounded very necky though. >> Right. >> That’s another fairway miss right there from >> Oh, you guys won’t miss a fairy out here. >> I will. Oh, I [laughter] will. Oh, I will. Luckily, it dropped right at the base of that pine. I mean, I’ve not lost a ball yet. I’ve actually found two. Yeah, I think it’s pretty hard to lose a ball out here because there’s no rough, is there? It’s just like scrub. >> I mean, I found a couple of smalls. >> Yeah, they were not looking for them. >> Okay, come on. Let’s get a cut going on then. >> That’ll work. >> That’ll do. >> Good golf shot. >> Just plot it. It’s all you got to do. Just plot it. >> You shatter. >> Thank you. [snorts] Stay in it. Stay, John. Just got to stay. Just got to stay, man. Just got to stay. Like fry. This is like a two. This literally a two horse race. And I am just a knackered old sh horse. But I just need to have the staying power. And this young stallion Philly cult’s a boy horse, isn’t it? This young cult or a Philly. Yeah, it’s a modern world. You can decide. Just need to slow down. 190. It’s all about what I can get over the pines in front of me as well here. 190 is going to go downhill. And the line is not too bad. Just got a huge spring in front of me. More belief that wood gets up. >> 200 y. got a chance or >> Well, I’m I’m say I’ve got seven wood and I can pop it up. >> Okay, >> I think complete delusion. Who knows? But it’s what we want to see, folks. It’s Christmas. [laughter] Didn’t quite get the height I wanted, but I thought it was going to cover that trap and run on then. >> Is it Is it okay? >> It’s in the bunker at the front of the green. >> Ah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. [laughter] >> Brilliant. Absolutely flushed it, but just didn’t get the uh the height. Got the A patches out, right? Uh 177. Kind of looks like it’s a big slow left of this pin. So if I pull it a little bit, I might get help. But then if I pull it too much, it’s going to be horrendous. So I think bailout’s probably right. Ball should move a little bit left to right. Yeah, very plotting. Super plot. It’s okay. It’s a tough hole. Obviously didn’t cut around quite as much as I thought. Paul’s not flying very far today. Actually struck that. Okay. 177 79. I have to club up. Got a long way to go. I’ve got best part of 60 yards up to the flag. Just pitched here the ball and has run back in. It would have been great if it got up there, but not to be. Poor drive. So, got to take your medicine. Five’s not the the worst here. I can’t even see the flag there. Still can’t see the flag. It’s hard cuz now I can’t really judge distance without seeing it. foot [sighs] feel. So 60ish yards is going to be a down. That’s got to be really good. Oh, you cruel thing. Almost. That is That’s harsh. If it makes you feel any better, it wasn’t that close. Like you’d have to get it >> 10 foot. >> Yeah, but you’d have had to get it like 10 foot past, I reckon. >> Oh, sorry. Sorry. >> What I’m trying to say, it was a good shot, but it’s like nowhere near the standard that you’d expect. >> 10 foot’s not good enough if you want to get it close if being honest. >> Who does this guy think he is? >> These greens are um >> they’re crazy, are they? >> Kind of wild. Yeah. Yeah. And this time of year, like condition is unbelievable. So kind of downhill to begin with, left to right, and then it’s going to rise up at the end and straighten out a touch. So very average. It just looks like visually it looks like it should go that way massively. Go, go, go. >> Travel, travel, travel, travel. >> It’s pretty good. >> Pretty good. >> That’s where the bunker shot should have finished if there was any justice in this world. [panting] >> Well, Matt, there’s not. And the sooner you learn that, the better. >> I’ll take five, though, after, you know, nearly missing the golf ball off the tea. >> Yeah, >> it’s uh it’s warranted. be better. Whoa, look at the size of that thing. Oh, is it C17 or is that a different one? >> I don’t know, but it’s >> it’s a bigger. >> It’s a beast. >> Very well done, sir. Very well done. >> I think I might have got the touch with the uh >> the footer on those ones. Yeah, >> grafted hole that lovely drive. Iron shot sounded phenomenal. Wild first put. Great, great followup. >> Okay. Feeling >> move within one now. >> Just got to stay. Just got to stay in it. What we got to do, Joe? My Christmas message to all you kids out there. You just got to keep yourself in it. Don’t give up. Never surrender. Well, only one in it now. Feels like I should be about six in front, but he’s just hanging around. >> Yeah, I am going to be the definition of a bad fart today. >> Beware the injured golfer. 118 to the flag that looks like there’s a little crest behind it. Pete’s taking an intermission, so I’ll I’ll go. >> Just uh just kept me on. Cheers. >> Look at that. Look at this. Whoever hit this shot, and it was one of the people on the press trip. Where did the shank finish? [laughter] Look at that. [snorts] Wow. Like numbers wise, it should be a [sighs] 3/4 thump with a 50. Dumb that way. Just like >> Yeah. Like everything about me wants to hit like a sandwich and try and get it behind, but it’s just going to be short ripoff in it. So, not what you want to do. Let’s be sensible. Just got to keep on in it. >> Fancy a hole in one here. >> Do you? >> Yeah. I think it’s got everything about it to be a hole in one. >> Love that. >> That was struck. And that is all over it. Please be the number spin. >> Go on. Go on. Go on. Go on. Go on. >> Oh my god. Is that on the edge of the hole? >> That’s got to be on the edge. >> I don’t know if it’s not made it back. >> I don’t know if it’s actually resting on the flag. >> Don’t want to. >> I mean, we’ll get up there. It’ll be six foot away. I’ve just I’ve just moved I’ve done the trick where you move to the side and obviously it gets further when you move sidewards, doesn’t it? >> That’s not further. >> Oh man, what a way to end the year that would have been. >> I don’t know. I could still knock it in though. you. >> Yeah. Well, >> that was you at M50. >> Yeah, just like you said, just like a little 3/4 one. [snorts] I mean, pitch perfect. Ah well fright you got your visualization. Just do that just a little bit better. >> Sorry. Sit. Sit. Sit. Sit. Sit. Sit. Sit. Just f my right hand. >> Hey, it’s all right, kids. Don’t worry. I I’ll get that retention up. Absolute scenes of pioneers that would have been out of the way. >> Okay. >> Well done. Great two. >> You just need to talk about hole in ones before every par three. >> Just when that happens though, it’s like a disappointing two. How do you have a disappointing two >> like that? >> I was one in front. Feels like I’m going to be all square. Pete’s come from nowhere. [snorts] Battle of the boine. >> Turn in then. A good port. Just just didn’t want to move. >> Thought it was going to snap on me. There was no such snap. >> All right. Nice story. Well done. >> That was anticlimactic. >> Not for me. It wasn’t. I climax just at the right point. [laughter] All right. his signature hole. >> Signature. Big mound in there. One of the cameramen is stood on the mound. Just going to drill a low one towards his temple. >> Yeah. Stinger tire, right? >> Okay. See how See how brave he is. See if he moves or not. >> Where to even begin on this one. Right. Um, so this satellite image does not tell the full story. So, this is one of the sand mine holes that they’ve effectively left. I can’t remember what they called it, but all these mounds here. >> Is it a pushing it? >> It’s the scrape. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. It’s a scrape off the surface. And I think when they came to do this, there’s a picture in the old clubhouse, uh, like the temporary one they were using, which I presume is in the new one, where they show what this used to look like. >> Yeah. >> And it is basically this, just with a golf hole on it. >> Wow. >> It’s kind of crazy. Um, >> is the flag just straight down? >> Yeah. It’s It’s almost unless the pin’s on the right of the green, you’re not going to get a view of it. Uh cuz there’s another massive mound just in front. So yeah, like a two pull something different. >> 220 [snorts] 230, >> right? >> You can hit a driver, but you don’t get an advantage being closer. So it’s only going to be a flick with a wedge. >> All right. On birdie train. Chew chew. But had the wob. [laughter] Not the point. >> Shut up, Dad. >> Right. Straight over the mound then. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Plot. Plot. Plot. [clears throat] >> It’ll work. >> Yeah, >> it’ll work. >> Plotting pee. It’s great. Strike. Yeah. Very good. That good? >> Yeah, I think so. I think so. I think you got more of a more of a chance of seeing the pin from there, but if where depending where it is, >> sure. Very well done. >> On we go. >> Congratulations. Well done for being you. >> Thank you. It’s hard sometimes, but we get through it. He was wrote in one of the golf publications that it was like playing down a dragon’s back. And I sort of see what he means now. That is exceedingly humpy. exceedingly >> not like any of the dragons I’ve seen. >> 143 flag. And it looks like you can hit past it to >> Yeah. >> to bring it back. >> And you’ve got >> like you’ve got a lot as well. I think >> go at that peak of the pine and let it >> Yeah. >> Let it come down on there with a nine iron. to clamber over that shoulder. >> No, >> kicking it just so I knew that on the range I was absolutely flushing it and I just knew I was in trouble then wasted all the good ones. I’ve not missed a shot golf course. >> Are you carrying on like the my first win series next year? >> Yes. >> I’ve got a few suggestions. >> Yeah. Don’t warm up. Save the good shots. >> Right. Same club. Going to go nine again. Just going to try straight over the pin. Try and get it beyond with a bit of spin. If it stays above it, we’re screwed. But that was lovely. Could be a little bit long and left though. And as long as it spins down, it’ll find it’ll find the right surface. I don’t think it’s one of those that will funnel back to the pin, though. I’m getting more increasingly left >> sighted and I’m not seeing it yet. >> Oh no. >> You’re all right. >> About 25 foot maybe bottom of the slope. >> Yeah. >> Good shot. >> Plade. >> Plaude. Plaude. >> Pl that is. >> Plaude. >> That’s nuts. It’s almost a little bit too tight and delicate for the blade. So get the putter out. Get it up here. Easy, light work. A North Carolina Texas wedge. >> Yeah, well done. Yeah, that’s a nice putt. >> Trying something new. I’m picking the ball out of the hole with my right hand now. >> Whoa. >> Yeah. >> Right. It’s downhill. Just going to just going to wander that way at the end. >> Tell you what, if you got a bit frisky with the hands here. >> Exactly. That’s why I’m having it in. >> You could be uh where I was just playing from. >> Yeah. >> Nearly. >> Yeah. Wasn’t a wasn’t a bad put. Just kind of hard to hard to It slow. Do you know what I’ve just noticed? The two Well, me being the greatest putter on YouTube and you with my apprentice, we both have the uh the blue star. >> Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, we are both blue star. >> Blue star. >> I do prefer the feel of this one though. >> I love cord. >> Just love it being like punishing on my hands. >> Pulled that. Actually went left as There’s an opening for my apprentice now as the uh second best putter on YouTube. >> That was silly. That I was talking about plotting. That wasn’t a plotting mentality. That was a bit of a bit of a misfire in me noggin. Back to one. We move on. The scores on the doors. You’re one behind at three over par. Peter, >> I’ve maintained my score after a mind melt on the first. >> Now we get to the fourth. >> We don’t get to the fourth. It’s the ninth. [laughter] >> The Uncrustables just made me lose my marble >> when the Uncrustables hit. >> 436 yds uphill. I mean, just looks >> awesome, this golf hole. What are those bunkers to clear, Pete? Cuz that’s the second one. H >> second one’s got to be in range on it. >> Yeah. Uh, first one’s 250, second one’s 285 to clear all uphill. So, >> okay. So, play right then. >> If I was using slope, I’d say yeah, it’d be tough to get over them, but >> yeah, nice turn. Nice swing. That’s it. >> Farway all day, baby. Right. That deserves another uncrustable. That >> stayed in the fairway, didn’t it? >> Yeah. There’s like a It >> just kind of disappeared. >> It’s like just past pin high of the second ones. >> Yeah. >> Pitching in between them >> and cross the bull. Oh yeah. Just settle a touch. Yeah, >> it’s in the pine straw. >> Oh, actually moved quite a long way that way there ain’t that. >> What happens with a slice? [snorts] >> I think the wind the next is um in all fairs, we need a downwind on the next. So that’s good. 650 yard par five, whatever it is. Thanks for coming. So 155 obviously got a bit of an issue. Got this tree directly in the way. Could go a little bit of a low cut or just a little bit of a low draw. Lie is a bit tiny bit sat down. So I’m going to go low draw I think. Keep hooking. Should feed in a touch >> straight above on the slope. >> Nice strike. Oh, that same slide. No turn that instead of that. Annoying after such a good drive. That’s two shot iron shots where I’m just not rotating making the easy shot exceedingly hard for myself. But we can up and down it. We can keep going and find a way to beat him. Right. The height of mediocrity and we got a downhiller onto the green. >> Yeah. It’s not the sight to miss really. Was it? >> No. No. On 50 from the middle of the fairway like missing one’s mouth with a spoon. Can >> imagine in the summer though like mine was turning like I reckon in the summer mine’s probably down there off this slope. >> Right. Roll it up. Tap it in. Move on. >> So, >> sit, sit, sit. Matt, why’d you make bogey from 150 out? You real difference in my game came when I just accepted the bad shot. Learn to live with myself in harmony. Come on. Cozy this down. Get a par and just blend blows top. Crack [groaning] a tower over. If this goes in from me, Fry’s going to make Vuvius look like a little rumble. Right. Come join me. >> Wow. If this goes in from here, this will get his mind going. >> Jeez, >> that was weird. Very weird. >> Right then, battle of the uh really bad golfers, it seems, on this hole. The hardest part of it was getting it in the fairway. Did that no problem. I mean, not too angry with how this hole’s panned out so far for me. >> I wouldn’t be if I was you. slippage. Just that iron shot was just beyond pathetic. That’s annoying. That’s annoying. After such a good drive, when my driving’s not been a strong point all year, stand up and hit a great one. Oh, you that was >> had a couple of three whacks today. >> Well, no change the scores. [snorts] Well, Pete, as we make the turn, scores. >> Um, I am four over par, which on a normal day I would be very very frustrated with and angry with. Um, but not today. >> I am three after a double on that bow. >> Yeah, Captain Plington. I’m >> It’s a 10th though. 585 yards. If you do make a three down here, you get a special coin. >> The approach to this green is great. >> Is it? It’s got like um you can almost see it here like if you hit it in with a cut and low. >> Oh yeah. >> You can almost see how you like chase it in. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. It’s class. And there’s bald eagles on the side. >> Yeah. There’s two bald eagles and they’ve made a big nest over there. We’re going to go and climb the pine in a moment using our >> teeth and see if we can find them. I doubt we will. >> They’ll hear us coming. >> But back n Let’s be better. Pete, sort of a a pillow fight of sorts. >> I’m Yeah, I’m I’m I’m all right. I’m hanging around because of the course is just incredib. >> That’s a great drive. >> Well done, Northerner. Is that’s perfect. Is Is the B word an actual swear word? Cuz it’s in the vernacular. Great swing. >> That’s better. You good fellow. Oh yeah. >> I would have never have thought to put guacamole or avocado, sorry, with a um with an egg salad sandwich, but >> Oh yeah. >> Criy. >> Think about like a nice breakfast like a bit of toast >> with a chili and an egg. So just that in wrap form. >> Yeah. 585 and we’ve got 285 to go. We just >> it is 285. [laughter] >> Did see the eagles back there. Incredible scenes. You will have seen them on your screen. Now it’s time for a 3-wood. What’s your laser saying to the flag? >> 270 from here. >> Yeah. >> Proper golf hole. >> Wow. Right. three-wood up the at the brown hill in the distance and >> any type of cut would help. >> Yeah, to get it up there it needs to be a bit of a chaser but >> like around the front too but >> I [clears throat] reckon I can get it. >> That’s the check. I think >> it’s saying fryer, we’re going to give you the eagle. Go on. Go on. Go on. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. What the heck? [laughter] Wowers. Words aren’t needed at this point. It’s like you’re on a like you’re a bowling alley. Then this three-wood off the deck, you can just make it do incredible things. We’ve now got about 20 ft for the coin. >> Uh, right. All right. Well, I mean, that was a great shot. That um I don’t have a 3wood. I got a mini drive, which is probably if I hit it normally a little bit too much. I’m going to have to try and cut it in. I want to be landing this left side. If I just barrel through though, I might be like long left. Little bit awkward, but might try and cut it back a touch more. Just try and get a bit of stop on it if I can. This could be very good as well up here. >> Yeah, I think I just like hit it over the bit I needed to with that club. But that’s still okay. But >> listen, some players just aren’t skilled enough to read the contours of the land. It’s okay, though. A chipping three is just as good as a put three. Yeah, I think that was just one of those occasions where it helps being a lot shorter golfer. Not >> sure on this one. Kind of managed to get it back to about pin high, but I would have had to have sliced that in. Fry’s got a lovely look at it. >> Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. >> No, it’s going to go. Oh, she the other way. >> Ah, I had that as my little safety blanket then. >> Still you. >> Unfortunately, someone ripped my blanket off and exposed me to the world. I think this could be if I get this, this could be the highlight of my year. I got married and getting a three on the 10th at Pinehurst number 10 just trumps it. Come on then. Very average. So I got the pace of a put. All right. the eagle. After much anticipation and quite frankly a lot of talk, let’s see what actually happens. >> That turned loads. [music] >> It went at the end. >> Yeah. >> Should we end the video? No point now. >> Have to call it all square. Just got plated. >> I feel very dejected. >> I’ I’d be disappointed if I was you. That was it really. That was your one chance of glory. >> Yeah. >> Yep. Got a life of mediocrity ahead in it. Well done. Well done. Nice putt. Good birdie. Safe birdie. Easy birdie. See what I mean? Sometimes you can have a disappointing birdie. It’s just I never knew I wanted that coin so much. Seven iron shot that we had on the range. Turn, Matthew. Turning is the key. That is so bad. Divot straight at the flag. The face must be 968° open, >> which is [laughter] two 360s and nearly a third blood. >> A blood. >> Blood. >> Oh, wow. Sliced it. >> You with me? Not far off. >> My standard’s impeccable. >> Hey, struck unreal as well. >> Flabbergasted. >> It’s not going to be a great spot from over there. >> We are okay at golf. I promise. I’m going to get the leading edge involved. Try and play it like a bunker shot here. Just land it into the fringe. It dies one dimple over if it’s not within 3 ft. Travesty. Get in. Get through it. Get through it. [panting] >> You know what? It could have been worse. >> Yeah, >> it could have been worse. >> Yes. Not I It’s just the definition of a short side, isn’t it? Really? >> Oh, it’s not It’s not in the bunker either. >> No. >> Oh. Oh, great. Well, it’s going to go for a slam dunk. One advantage is it should spin. A >> that was a good shot. That was a very good shot. >> Yeah, it was just airing on the side of a bit too much caution there. Right. Then I thought we just got away with it and it was just going to >> just clamber and leave me, but we’re >> right on the edge here now. So [laughter] >> fun. Very fun. Kick line. Stop. Blood. Blood. Wow. Jeez. What a hole. How’d you like it? [laughter] >> Just leave it, please. >> Just leave it. Okay. >> Right. Well, you know what they say, every good round has two doubles. Yeah, can’t argue with that. Yeah, nice place. Just so bad that T-shot. My god, what a load of rubbish. Oh, cranky. Hey, >> could still be one in front. Yeah, >> bit scrappy. >> Well done. Good fall. >> Thanks. [laughter] Tricky part in all fairness. >> Yeah. >> Well, somehow getting one back on you there. >> Yeah. Scores are tied now. really. >> Uh maybe don’t know. You’ll see the scoreboard anyway if you’re watching at home. >> Well, that’s me. I think that’s five for me though. Bit funky on this. It’s only like 280 to run out of fairway. >> Okay. >> Um it is waste but it’s it’s kind it’s not great >> hill though is it? >> Yeah. >> Threewood or two? You’ve got the two driver pro. Yeah, probably just driver. Just peg it really low so it doesn’t go as far. Get it like flying about 260 and then let it bumble up from there. It’s your honor. You just nicked it with a bogey. Go me. Right. Come on. Lock in. If I can battle my way back to like two over par. I think I’ve had a good knock. Two over with two doubles is always, you know, litty. That was very peculiar that wood. Is that okay? >> Yeah. Yeah, it’s fine. Bit horrible necky strike, but it’s like not it’s fine. It gives me a look at the green. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Very good. >> Yeah. Should be good then. Should be good. class little >> Yeah, pe it bullet. Run it to the end of the fairway. Get it green side. Make a quad. >> Oh, it’s uh Yeah, it’s kind of done me a bit of a pickle. This It’s too Oh, no. [laughter] Really? Incredible pace control. Always had it, always will. [snorts] >> Uh, so into is 24. It’s like >> terrific. >> Just out of reach with my uh >> with my hybrid. So I’m going to have to take like a little cuty one with this. It’s basically the same same shot I’ve just hit on the T. >> You got a 250. So it’s like >> short, aren’t you? >> With a hybrid. Yeah. Right. Big old cut. anything like left of this green. It’s not easy up and down, but it’s not terrible. So, if I can land this just left of the hole, that’ll be good. Get a lie. Get a lie. Yeah, it’s probably like trying to take so much off it with the cut. Really overdid it. The advantages I made an incredible birdie from in there last time I was there. Don’t think it’s going to be quite as easy this time with that pin. That was a terrible shot. >> 205 downhill. Okay, it’s five or six. >> Is it playing 205? Yeah, it’s probably not a lot of wind, but it is quite cold into, isn’t it? So, >> yeah, >> you can probably tell from there, but anything anything which is a bit right is always going to kick in. So, >> yeah, I’m going to go middle of the green and try and just bring it left to right at it. Just zoom on the flag cuz it’s well short. [panting] I took too much off it. >> You try and baby it a touch there. >> Yeah. It just feels so downhill, doesn’t it? But I guess with that cold air, >> I hit a lovely shot. >> It’s all right, though. >> I did everything I wanted to. Just >> underestimated the distance. >> Oh well, what an absolute catastrophe this is. [panting] I mean, I can I can try and land it just short of like through these trees, but I think ultimately ultimately this should be beyond the pen. I don’t think I’m going to have enough uh enough skill or enough of a gap to land it and spin it. Good effort. >> Yeah. >> Tell you what, if you just get on the wrong side of any flag here, right, >> it’s it’s near impossible to get it within 20 ft. That’s a great example there. That had to die in the pine straw and dribble out. Now he’s he’s actually further away than I am. Stay up. Stay up. Stay up. Stay up. Go that way. >> Yeah. Nice pop. Me trolley. >> Nice pop. >> Take me clubs for the rest of the round. E. Go. Shot through that bit. Come on. Put your head on, man. [snorts] Weak. >> Was taking a photo of the flag and I didn’t hear the sound. So, >> not good. >> You just can’t be on the wrong side of any hole, can you? Shortsided it is like the death. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Yeah. Well then, nice two put then. >> Thank you. A well educated hole that shot. >> That sort of downward shot into the green is awesome. Very very enjoyable so far. Some very dramatic undulation I would say would be my takeaway from here. >> Dramatic undulation. >> Dramatic undulation. Greens severe. Fantastic pines. >> Yeah, I think kind of missing missing them in the right places is >> and the biggest egg salad wrap ever. >> 480. >> Yeah, pin does absolutely mass. >> I can Is that the pin up there? >> Yeah, >> that’s not 480. That is at least 720. There’s got That’s another hole. >> Damn, son. 480. >> That’s not the pin. >> Yeah, I mean the next few holes are uh challenging, shall we say? >> Right then. Bash away. Pretty much play as you see, Pete. The >> Yeah, >> in between the two. >> Yeah. >> Scrapings. >> It’s a pretty big fairway. Really should be. >> Oh, I can miss it. >> Proven that today wind off the right as well. >> Should be a tiny bit. It’s more into >> Yeah, very good. Nice swing. Very good. Very good. Very nice. Driving it well at the minute. The boy. Oh, barely odd odd quitty ones. If I just commit and release. I think we found something. I think we found something. Oh, he went for that one. He was like, I’m not having fri past me. In fact, it would al >> not only demoralize me, be beaten by Frier, but if he outdrove me, I don’t think I could carry on. If you are watching from Pete’s channel, spread the word and the guy now or come over here >> and we can chill together. That is an exquisite entrance into a green. Wow. I think we might have just got ticked off number one course that we played. But number two might be might be in it. >> 195. >> Would you have one? What >> 195 again? Hold. Why are you holding the face when your path’s neutral? It doesn’t doesn’t make sense, Matt. If you’re swinging neutral, you can’t have your face open, idiot. Blood. Blood. All right, let’s go draw a five iron in. If I get it on the right edge of this green with a draw, it should all like funnel left. So, let’s get it moving down there. Nice shot. Go on. Keep going. Ah, >> stayed high. >> Almost. >> Almost. It’s kind like a similar one to uh that par five where might got that shoot that way. I was hoping to do it that way. It’s all right though. In a okay position after whatever the hell that was. Right. We’ve got a a wasteland bunker. Um going to just try and splash this to about 15 ft on 10 foot right. Good news is you can ground your club in this stuff so I can sort of get an idea of what’s on there. The other ball is uh my secondary ball I hit in pure madness. Tell you what, mate, that’s a great shot. >> That’s really good from there. >> That’s the best shot I’ve hit today. That went exactly where I wanted to. To be fair, I’ve had about seven of those this week that distance. So, I’ve I’ve leared to play them. That >> was good. Right. This will be some par. If I can get that in. >> All right. Downhill. Right to left, then left to right. See if he gets a bit feisty with this. It could be at me. Yeah, pace control today is not it’s not been great. This is a complete match play moment. He thought he was up. If he were to miss and I were to hole, we’d actually see the demise of Pete Finch right here on YouTube. Probably won’t happen like, but he’ll just carry on and have a pint tonight and move on. Solid. Very good at that. Needed that. >> Very good, sir. Needed that one. Swept it up. Yeah, cried up and down. Didn’t look like it was going to come down, did it? Yeah, I was like, “No.” >> Yes. Breeze. >> Yeah. Good stuff. >> Good falls. >> Well done. >> Well done. Sun’s coming out now. Always shines on the righteous. >> 210 playing 200. >> Is it a feeder? Is it not a feeder? >> Uh, just trying to remember. I think >> I think it feeds in a little bit from right to left. Um, what was it on the last five? >> 195 last hole. >> Kind of think it might be that. It’s just I’m not sure. It’s not really kind of conditions to be bouncing on. >> No, I really don’t want to be longer in that bunker though. >> I get to I get to watch those. >> Four up the left and let it move. >> [snorts] >> Does it feed in from there? >> It’d have to do a lot of feeding. That’ be like an all you can eat buffet to get down from there. >> Don’t look at the divot when you walk by. Okay. >> Might make you throw up. >> Was that an attempted four? >> Yeah, I think four’s the right club. Hello. Hello. Hello. Kick for us. >> Go on. >> Oh, it’s just literally stopped. >> Stopped dead, didn’t it? It wasn’t a great strike. >> Bit thin. >> Did you hit four? >> Yeah. Yeah, just a bit thin. >> It would have been a It would have been a nice one to get back there with that. >> Right. All right. Still got a chance. I’ve got a 40 yard pitch. I’m going to land this just just before the green and let it let it just spin and die in. >> Well, that have been nice. >> I did go a little bit further than I wanted. >> That sounded lovely, >> but had a look. stuck its head up. I fancy Pete Holling is now though. >> I’d love to have some on my side. The plot brigade. Come on. Bless me with a birdie plotters. >> Well, got the pace right anyway. >> Never really never really that good on Bermuda greens at the moment. at the moment ever. Something to work on when you bomb it at that P. >> Rifled it. Yeah. >> Should have gone straight to Matthew. >> All right. >> To be fair, the T-shot deserves that cuz it was two sneaks one back. one for the plotters. So, we can get home >> on a plane or we can get home on this one. Um, it’s like 300 y. The actual hole is like 330, but on this angle, it’s about 300 to the middle of the green. Now, that lone tree there on the bank, >> too. If you go just if you go on that with a cut like that’s that’s okay. But obviously the more you cut it the more distance you got to cover. There are a couple of bunkers up on the green on the right side which could catch it. But I think if you want to get home you’ve almost got to go over this one. >> The tallest one here if you’re left of that. >> So I’m kind of thinking that might be the play. Well, it’s a safe one. Just sit a bit. >> Yeah. >> Got it. >> It’s fine. Just big bail. >> I left. >> Yeah. Just bailed out. It’s okay. That I remember the green being a bit of a >> It looks very >> bit of a pain. Yeah, I think go for it is still the play, but that was a a bailout. Sorry. Sorry everyone at home. I’m not quite uh quite on my game, just in case you’ve not noticed. Just short, I think. It’s over the water. He’s just short of the green. Look good. >> Happy with that. >> Nightmare up and down from there. But >> like you actually if you don’t hit the green, it’s not even worth going for it. You’re better off having a full leg. I actually think you should probably take a professional and declare on this >> if you survive. All right, 70 yards. Just a lob wedge. It’s a bit of a tricky ping cuz it is at the back. So, going to ease it in there. Pretty good. Pretty good there. That was a really nice strike. Don’t really strike my wedges that well. I’ve got a lot of work to do this winter. That was lovely, actually. I mean, I don’t know what to do here. I can either like back foot a 50 halfway and let it run. It’s on a weird ledge. Or I get a 58, try and fly it all the way. I think I just try and picture 58 up to all those little bits of dead grass that we see on the green. We’re discussed and let it come in there. >> Just a little diggy that one. Didn’t quite slide underneath it and gone a tad too far, but >> it was all right. I just didn’t have that like second bounce grab. >> Yeah, it’s cuz I uh decided to lean the handle 45° in front of the blade. Back to the matter at hand. We’ve got a quite the the snap fest about to happen here. Quite a bit of right to left on this. Just got to get the dribble pace right on this one. [snorts] It’s just slippy all the way. I thought it was just going to riet in. Then to be fair, the pitch was poor. So to have a look was nice. Now this is to take in within one. the man from Preston. Preston’s greatest export outside of I don’t know what do they do some kind of bitter that they sell new just [sighs] oh I hate Bermuda really do just gets it kind of gets in your head. Are you thinking about grain on here? >> Yeah, just >> I thought once about grain. >> Like my pace controls just pants today. >> Questionable. >> Oh, I don’t think there’s much of a question. [laughter] >> Yeah, it’s a tough sight. >> Yeah, man. Sight. Oh, it’s a good looker, isn’t it? >> Yeah, it’s kind of up the up the right touch of draws perfect if I would remember rightly. 477. Three holes to go. >> Three holes to go. >> Three in it. >> Three in it. >> Tough scenes. Take a big turn around now >> from the man from Preston. Yeah, that I don’t think that’s in a good spot if I’m going to be honest with you. Just imagine a nice little three shot swing here. join you. >> Makes filming easier. >> Just sit down. Oh, >> that’s all right. >> Yeah. Not It won’t be great, but I see it so bad. It’s actually all right. >> Be better than mine, pal. It’ll be better than mine. Just a momento from my uh my travels here at Pinehurst. [laughter] Right. Stop the silliness. Need to find out. We’re doing okay here considering how bad it was. Pete’s like 30 down on the path. 210. 210. Could be a 7wood. Get higher. I forgot the thing. The the one thing they told us to do if you’re in the pine straw. Settle yourself in. just sky that. >> Well, yeah, I just didn’t settle in and just got really steep on it. 165. Um, okay. Couple of options. 165. I can either hit the way that the path is. I’ve got a much easier access into the back of the ball um with a draw, but it wouldn’t mean I have to take it through that gap. I’ve got this bigger gap here, which I can kind of hit a slice cut. So, that’s what I’m going to attempt. Just like a trap cut six. Yeah. [laughter] I can’t I [laughter] look the state of that like a couple of deers have been rotting. D. Still got 117 left in. Uh, all right. Come on. Up and down. Keep going. >> Sorry. >> What? off the back of the green >> it stop and it was like six foot and then I looked up and it had gone >> nightmare. That was a good swing actually. That was a nice shot. Take a small thing. It’s a small positive. >> 69 yds for me. So just a 54 to chest height which lies 65 should should be perfect. Yeah, nice shot. I’ve played two lovely pitches with my 54 today. All been both of them a bit flatter, which is something that I’ve wanted from wedges. So, if anything, I can take that from today’s round, which is just a just a joy. Good shot. Lovely touch. Some lovely check on that. One bounce dig dribble. Stay up. Nope. Sit. I knew I should have gone a little bit higher on that, but I did the cardinal thing of I’ll just I’ll just go for it. >> Oh, G, you little >> took it took a little shimmy right and then shimmyed back left. Shimmy shimmy your shimmy. Yeah, shimmy shake. >> Great five. Can’t go any further behind there. Let’s see if Pete’s misery carries on. I’m really confused that >> it it went a bit right off the blade but then >> straight back. >> I think it was grain. [laughter] >> Can’t be harsh, man. Cannot be harsh right now. Come on. Get your head together. Two holes to go. Could I have it just out again a second? Just need to get >> I need my sanity back. >> Firm and straight. Ah, [sighs] >> right. Four in it. [snorts] What a hole. This is >> hole 17. Couple of pars to break 80. That’s what we’re after right now. New series coming soon. Break 80. Break 80 with the broken golfer in spirit. >> 177 Pete. I’m going to go six iron. >> I [snorts] think I think if I stop now, I’m still not sure I’d break break 70. [laughter] >> Should we tally it up? We’ll have that pop up on screen now. >> Pete’s broke 70 at this point. >> Couple all in ones, mate. Get me off. >> 16. Can break Can I break 70? [snorts] >> Right. Come on at the fur tree. Pine tree. >> What you going to do with eight? >> Six. Okay. sign and cut it. >> Mom was out my strong point today. >> Kick in then. Kick in. It’s >> too long. >> Oh, you’re telling me there’s a chance. All right. All in one. Birdie, take the win. Make Matty cry. >> I was quite happy with that shot. >> I think the wind’s off the left though. Feels a bit down maybe. >> Yeah, you could hit seven there. That’s good. I’ll keep cutting. >> Yeah, >> shot. >> Great for distance. >> Shot, Pascal. >> Thank you. >> I don’t want to over complicate this. Just sort of land it just before the green and let it ddle its way on down. >> That sounded weird. >> It had pure screw. [snorts] >> Sounded really odd. That >> I got it I got it too clean. >> I mean, as far as like places to leave it, that’s not the worst. >> Luckily, I’ve got a four stroke lead, so I’m okay. >> Yeah. bit of a >> But if I get a little bit heavy-handed on this, I will actually be down in that bottom down there. That would have been a good pin location, wouldn’t it? >> Yeah. >> Front right. >> Well, just in that little bit there. >> Yeah. Travel, travel, travel. >> Actually, pace wise, not too bad. >> Pretty good. That >> I was going to tap this in before I could think about it. I was hoping that hit the flank and came back at you. [laughter] >> No. >> Right. I’ll take my two putts here. >> Come on. Take the break out. I’m still going to get there. [snorts] >> Not actually. >> You should be penalizer shot for that. >> I nearly topped that. [laughter] >> Right. Three in it. >> Three in it. >> Three. >> Drag it. >> Drag my tired carcass over the line. >> Well, if you’ve made it this far in the video, thank you for watching. I think it’s been nothing other than a joy for me to play here. >> I mean, it’s an amazing course and like it’s such a great spot. >> I think it’s topped off the year nicely. We’ve had some good battles this year and uh to finish at Pinehurst has been truly incredible. So, thank you all for watching this year. Merry Christmas to your families. Have a good one. Watch me, Birdie the 18th, and Pete crumble like the pie you will have on Aximus Day. >> I got a I got a par for a semi. [laughter] >> So, don’t want to brag or >> don’t want to brag, but I’m kind of looking good right now. >> It’s a 405 here. This one stroke eight for Pete. >> [laughter] >> thing. Well, I I know what’s going to happen here. Like I am going to birded this hole cuz that’s golf. >> Horrendous day. [clears throat] You beded last I found it. I figured it out. Tight little draw down here. Be like, “Ah, that was the feeling I should have had.” >> Absolute rocket. >> Hold your line. >> Oh, wow. >> Yeah, that’s massive. Oh, that’s it. That’s my last driver of the year. >> That was big. >> Yeah. Got a podcast today. Thank >> God. Yeah. >> The trials and tribulations of Pete Finch. >> Jeez. [laughter] >> Co-hosted by me. >> It’s not going to be an overly positive podcast, though, is it? [laughter] [gasps] >> Right. Come on. At the clubhouse and turn it. Not that way. You >> go on. Get behind a pine. >> I think you’re all right then. >> Fairly. >> I think you’re fine. >> Didn’t quite release it, but we’re okay. >> Wow. >> We’re okay. >> What an absolute epic battle of just flinging dung at each other. >> I’ve done okay. >> It’s like a couple of chimps. >> I’ve had my moments in this round. I don’t think the two doubles from literally nowhere were any good. But >> I think I think the best thing about this today is that everyone’s got to see number 10. And what an amazing place it is. >> Yeah. >> And like, you know, I I think we’ve we’ve represented an accurate uh an accurate portrayal of average golfers just playing a great golf course. >> Yeah. What would happen if you’ve been on a golf trip for 3 days drinking hazy IPAs and eating a copious amount of burritos? >> Exactly. >> Go travel. >> Go, go, go. Oh, I’ve seen your five jab from there before. Oh, just still a slight bit ahead of it. Right down the banner. Just like neck neck scaffer. >> 100 and two yards. It’s just a little what they fire >> done by 50. Thanks for coming. Be the eyes done me by 50 shots. So positives and negatives everywhere, aren’t there? Just a nice little half swing. Not bad. My god. Last full swing of uh 2025. Right. Then we need a chip in just to end the year on a high. Just bump it on front edge and just let it whiffle its way down. [snorts] >> That was like a >> Say it’s done well. >> Yeah, >> it’s done well. >> Oh, just go forwards, will you? Had 0% energy on that one. Oh, golf. Got to love it. Got to love it. Go on. Just me. Just imagine I [laughter] [snorts] >> I can’t >> given given your mental state. I don’t think there’s much [laughter] chance. >> I think that’d break me more than you. Oh dear. >> Yeah, it’s just straight. Just straight as an arrow. Just don’t care. [laughter] I mean, it’s just don’t care anymore. >> 79. I kind of I thought that when I was over that I was like, hang on. Don’t end with an 80. >> Yeah. Solid >> limp zone. I think you dragged me down with you today, but it’s been an honor this year, pal. >> Hold on, mate. >> Go well. Well, well, >> guys, if you haven’t already, watch the match from Wallacey here. Pinehurst Golf Pride. Everybody, thank you. Have a good Christmas. Let’s go and have a hazy.

  1. Fryer trolling with “get in” and “still you” never gets old, always makes me laugh. The fact he says get in when he hits a crap shot himself is also gold 😂

  2. Amazing course mediocre golf but gents a great great blog all the banter makes me giggle loads thanks and a merry Xmas to you both

  3. So this was Mizuno v Titleist and Mizuno won 💪🏽…seriously though great match gents and even better below the belt banter especially Fryer’s one liners 😂😂😂

  4. Two average golfers having a bad round sums it up, but your meant to be professionals, a bad shot should have you analyzing what you done wrong and how to fix it, not acting like ricky gervais just told you his best joke, and matt, if you ever laughed like a hyena while I was taking a shot, i wouldnt aim for your right knee and hope my foot would drift round, i would aim for and kick you directly in the nuts

  5. Nice Guys. Terrible golf but what a great year. Loved the competition and the courses played. Here’s to 2026 and the fun it holds. Have a safe and fun Christmas and New Year👍

  6. They said you guys couldn’t miss the fairways and you’ve been doing nothing but missing the fairways and hitting out of the junk amazing

  7. I've never seen Peter play more uninspired golf or have worse control of his drives. He looked like a 25 handicap off the tee with that uncontrolled slice every time. Overall, hard to watch.
