the Ortiz Sports person of the year for 2025, Roy Mroy. >> So, one of only six men in the history of golf to complete a career grand slam. Rory is with Greg Anna. >> Thank you so much. Yeah. Um very proud to to um win my third u one of these RT sports person of the year. Um 2025 has been an incredible year for me. Um you know I think if I rewind 12 months ago and I was looking you know setting goals for 2025 and what I thought it would look like um I don’t think I could have um came up with this year my wildest dreams. Um the Masters uh the Irish Open, the RDER Cup. Um, it’s it’s it’s been a dream season and I just want to uh say to everyone at home, thank you so much for for your support. Uh, I feel it out there on the golf course and when I’m traveling around the world and um, you know, it’s not lost on me how much support I get from back home. >> Rory, you’ve allowed yourself to stray your thoughts into what might happen in the rest of your career. You initially, of course, have had this extraordinary year. when you look at your ambitions heading maybe towards the Olympics in 2028, which was one of your named ambitions, what does the the next few years look like? >> Yeah, I think that’s um that’s a fair point. I think at this part of my career, I’m looking for those, you know, big tournaments and and massive moments. Um you know, major championships in golf are one of those, Ryder Cups, but then, you know, obviously the Olympics. Um, I’ve had a taste of two Olympic games now, uh, Tokyo and Paris and I’ve been pretty close to getting a medal both times. Um, so 2028 in LA, I’d love to give myself another chance to, um, take it on that podium and and and bring a medal back to Ireland. >> What a year. You win in Pebble Beach, you win the Players Championship, you win the Masters, the Irish Open, the race to Dubai, of course, the RDER Cup, of course, an away soil, all goals. What What do you do now? I mean, like, it’s such an incredible year. How do you top 2025? >> Um, you know, I think mentally I have to be uh comfortable with maybe this is going to be my best year ever. Who knows? Um, I hope it’s not. You know, I hope I still have many more great years ahead of me. Um, but you know, no matter what I do going forward, I’m only ever going to be able to win my first masters once. Um, and I’ve really enjoyed that. Um, and I’ve, you know, I’ve relished the opportunity to bring the green jacket around the world and and show it off. And, um, yeah, you know, it’s it’s it’s been a wonderful year, but I still think that, um, you know, I’ve got a lot more to achieve. So, um, I’m still ambitious. Uh, I still feel pretty young, um, injury-free. So, you know, hopefully a lot of good more, you know, a lot of a lot of good years ahead of me >> after an incredible year. Congratulations, Rory. As I said, you are the third for the third time the Ortiz sports person of the year. >> Thanks, Greg. Thank you.
