One of the most iconic golf shows could be coming back to our screens, according to a report.
Per Sports Business Journal, the PGA Tour has been quietly plotting a reboot of the legendary series “Wonderful World of Golf”.
Earlier in the year, the Tour registered a trademark for “Wonderful World of Golf”, an obvious nod to the show once sponsored by Shell.
The show launched in 1962 and ran until 2003 with a brief hiatus in-between.
It pitted the sport’s biggest stars against each other in 18-hole shootouts on world-famous courses like Pebble Beach and Pine Valley.

Early stars included golf legends Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Tom Watson and Arnold Palmer.
Sir Nick Faldo, Greg Norman, Jack Nicklaus, Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, David Duval, Sam Torrance and Fred Couples were among those to take part in the revival era.
SBJ are reporting that Pro Shop Holdings, the golf media company behind this year’s reinvented Skins Game, is teaming up with PGA Tour Studios to bring the series back.
But is is unclear which network it will air on, who will be the lead sponsor and when it will debut.
No official launch date or platform has been announced.

The PGA Tour declined to comment on the story.
