The Sudbrook Moor Rainbow Pot of Gold Series has been won for the second time by Johnny Oxby whose last championship title came in 2017.

The final crucial ninth stableford round saw Johnny tee off knowing that one more good score could lift him to top spot.

He needed to replace his lowest score with one more solid result, thus creating the overall highest six score aggregate.

His scorecard of 35 points did just that for Johnny to finish four points ahead of runner-up Frank Lobb, who also managed a great final score to improve his standing.

John McLaren, Danny Coyle and Paul Johnson were close behind.

Nearly 60 members participated in the popular mixed scheme over the long season.

There is only one champion but a good share out of prizes is provided in two handicap divisions.

David Butter was best of the higher handicaps (20.6 to 54) where Roger Rhodes, Steve Squires and Ted Spratley were runners-up.

The best ladies’ performance was from Dee Harrison.

The 2024 rainbow champion, Ian Barnes, finished 18th.
