PGA Tour pro Eric Cole may still be searching for his first victory on golf’s biggest stage, but when it comes to the minor league golf tour MLGT, few players in history have been more dominant. At 37, Cole has quietly carved out a highly respectable PGA Tour career, recording four top 10 finishes in 2025 and earning more than 11 million on the circuit. Yet his most eye-catching resume continues to come on the mini tour circuit. This week at Abekoa Golf Club in Florida, Cole delivered another masterclass, firing a bogey-free 36 holes to secure his 60th career MLGT victory. His nine underpar total was enough for a one-shot win in the Tour Championship, marking his fourth victory in the season ending event after previous triumphs in 2009, 2021, and 2023. Talented amateur Matthew Crest, a senior at the University of Florida, pushed Cole all the way and finished runner up after rounds of 67. Crest was four under through 12 holes in the final round and briefly tied for the lead, but a missed six-foot birdie on the 17th opened the door. Cole capitalized in trademark fashion, rolling in a 15-footer to regain control. Both players carded pars at the final hole, sealing the victory for Cole. The win earned him $12,000 from the $55,235 purse, plus $410 in skins and $464 from the bonus pool, bringing his total hall to $12,874. The victory further strengthens Cole’s position near the top of the MLGT career earnings list. He now sits second with more than $240,000, trailing only former miniour standout Sunny Kim, who amassed over $340,000 during his time on the circuit. Cole also holds a comfortable cushion over Jimmy Little in the all-time standings. The MLGT will now pause for its winter break before returning on January 4 at Indian Spring Country Club for the KFT Panama Monday Q tuneup. As for Cole, his focus will soon shift back to the brighter lights of the PGA Tour. He is set to open his 2026 season in Hawaii at the Sony Open, where he’ll once again look to turn miniour dominance into a long-awaited breakthrough at the game’s highest level.
