The PGA Tour Player of the Year Award was first given out after the 1990 season. Named after Jack Nicklaus, the award is determine by a vote among PGA Tour players.
The 2025 season marks the 36th time the award has been handed out and of those 36, Tiger Woods claimed 11 of them. When he won it for an 11th time in 2013, he accounted for 44 percent of the winners. Today, his win percentage is still almost 31 percent.
In 2025, Scottie Scheffler moved into to solo second on this list after winning POY honors for fourth time. Rory McIlroy is third with three. Dustin Johnson, Nick Price and Fred Couples are the only others with at least two of these awards.
Scheffler also has four wins in a row, which is second only to Tiger’s streak from 1999 to 2003.
