The Grant Thornton Invitational returns to Tiburón Golf Club this week for its third playing, once again bringing together the LPGA and PGA TOUR in a unique mixed-team showcase. 16 teams featuring stars from both tours will compete across three rounds, using Scramble, Foursomes and Modified Four-Ball formats. Defending champions Patty Tavatanakit and Jake Knapp are back to lead the field, joined by former winners Lydia Ko and Jason Day as they look to recapture past success. World No. 2 Nelly Korda teams up with Denny McCarthy, while World No. 5 Charley Hull joins up with 2025 TOUR winner Michael Brennan, and major champions Lexi Thompson and Wyndham Clark pair up for the first time. Rising stars are also well represented, including major winner Maja Stark with Neal Shipley, and the tournament’s youngest team in 21-year-olds Lottie Woad and Luke Clanton. With elite talent, innovative formats and a relaxed, collaborative atmosphere, the Grant Thornton Invitational promises another standout week on the schedule.

and Morgan just rolling along. Jennifer Cupjo playing alongside Chris Gddard. >> And today’s format, a scramble. He can’t birdie the ball if you don’t birdie the first nine. Steve >> just amazing. Nine under through nine holes. Charlie Hull is playing with Michael Brennan. And Brennan with a birdie putt at eight. >> An early par offset by an eagle at the six. But beauty here at eight >> to move to eight under par through eight holes. Back to Cupcho. Can they keep it rolling on the other side? We’re watching this big break to the right. 10 in a row. Cooled off a little bit since then, but what a start. >> Don’t care what the format is. 10 birdies and 10 holes is remarkable. Andrew Novak playing with Lauren Coglin. >> It’s all about the putter in a format like this. Making these clutch putts that for their seventh birdie in a row. >> So Andrew does the trick. Now Lauren’s turn at 13. >> Watch a great putter. Watch her walk the spin. Oh yeah, very confident pick up there to Tom Evan. >> Thank you, Steve. Lexi Thompson teaming up with Windham Clark. That is a birdie there for Lexi. They go out in 28. That’s eight under par back at the 11th. Let’s see if Broo Henderson can knock this one in for Birdie. >> Down the hill moving to her right. It’s nicely done from Brook >> Windham Clark with his T- shot to here. Now the eagle effort for Lexi Thompson. >> Okay, >> it’s a huge T- shot from that 10th T. Curving it around and validating it by Lexi there. >> Michael Brennan on the T of 12. location today. All the way in the back left there. >> Charlie Hull >> grab a share of the lead. Okay, two groups now at 12 under par at >> 56 which is 16 under par. Tav have a tanicate for birdie. >> Just strolling it in a >> little more speed. I think it even stays straight at the end. It also appears as if their opponents are choosing a putt on the same line as well. So trying to step in there and get the read. >> There’s nothing like player B. Morgan >> Charlie Hull has missed the green. This is Michael Brennan at the short. The uh LPJT is moved up today. So that’s why that ball was so close to >> green >> without without a ton of hurricane action that this area has gotten crushed the last handful of years. So I’m sure the ground staff enjoying that as well >> as well as the residents and visitors too. Megan Kang. >> Whoa, what a shot. >> Lexi already on the green. This is Window Clark’s approach. Oh yeah, that’s nice. And have a good chance for Bley there. Lexi, great supporter of the event that preceded the Grand Thornton Invitational. She played in that six times and now of course here and the event moved to being a PGA Tour LPGA tour combination and that was nicely done from Lexi. They go along well. the best we’ve seen so far. Still just really hard to stop it off the down slope of that bunker to that whole location. >> Charlie Hall left her eagle putt a little bit short, so Michael Brennan trying to pick her up here. Oh, and he does. Wow. A bonus eagle for that team. And they race out to 15 under par. >> That feels like stealing one right there. Look at that. Two Eagles on the card. >> You know, if you hadn’t had a chance to make the birdies if you’re not as far around the golf course as those groups towards the end of the day, obviously you’re not going to have as good a score. Fen now. >> Yeah, they need to get it going. They’re only five under par at the moment. Fe now and teaming up with Lexi Thompson. A couple of major champions together. >> That is a very nice result. It’s Charlie Hall second at 15 >> and being the first one to hit in here. But as I said earlier, just a really appealing hole location. >> Yeah, great shot. >> Nice shot. Nelly has already played a beautiful shot about 5 ft behind the hole. >> Oh, this could be really good here. >> Oh, look at that touch. >> This is Rose Zang as for an eagle. >> Rose playing with Michael Kim. >> That’ll help the effort. So that gets them to 13 under par. >> Up at the 18th. Our first look today at the home hole. Novak already missed. So Coglin for her birdie and did they? Oh man, >> Morgan, I don’t care what the format is. It’s incredible how well these players are going. >> As we go to 13. >> Yeah. Final game out there. This is Lydia Co. Jason Day second to the short par four. This one dancing. >> Oh yes. So that’s going to be a birdie. >> Lydia always so good with the wedges. >> Never tire of watching that golf swing. Do you Tom? >> Oh, it is one of the best. She works so hard. >> We’ve already seen some drama here from Coglin at 18. Can Zang do the same thing? Oh, she does. >> You got to love what’s going on out there. >> Yeah, that’ll come back. They played nicely on the back nine so far. >> And that’s going to be another birdie. So they’ll get to 15 under. >> Joel Damon, Luke Clinton. Oh, excuse me, Luke List. >> And now Tony Fen. >> Yeah, Lilia hasn’t had the best season this year. Struggled a bit with injury. >> Says she’s feeling better. Feeling better about her game as well. And I be feeling really good after that shot. >> 218 total. Little change up for this team. Usually Nelly has been hitting first going into the greens. He was staring that down, wasn’t he? >> Change up seemed to work well. That’s going to be an eagle putt. Nelly with the eagle putt at 17. >> Great look here. Just a little right to left in it. >> Yeah, it wasn’t going anywhere else, was it? >> Pick whichever shot they choose. Cory Connors now from the fairway at the 18th. >> Oh, right on it. >> One of the few we’ve seen really take dead aim there on 18. Brilliant shot. Set up for quite a bit of break here. >> Oh, great call, John. Don’t give Denny McCarthy extra chances. He’s too good with a putter in his hands. What a finish. What a finish for that team. >> Recorded McCarthy. >> Set up well right here. >> Leave it. Leave it. Leave it. >> Right there. >> Oh, it did leave it. All right. Good spot to putt from well right there. Steve was playing a huge draw towards that. Oh yeah, two teams with a 55 busting the record which was a 56 from Nelly and Tony in round one two years ago. So two teams setting the pace, setting history as well. Great Thornton Invitational day one in the books here at Tipperon. Charlie Hall, Michael Brandon put on quite the show and then Lexi Thompson and Windham Clark caught him in the end. That is a record setting 55 in the scramble format on this Friday. >> Thanks for watching the PGA Tour on YouTube. To watch another video, click here. And to subscribe, click here.

  1. PGA Tour please learn from your “strategic alliance” with the DP and learn how to do highlights.

Where is this 1.5B investment going you clowns 😂

  2. I like Lexi Thompson but I can't route for her because she's playing with the biggest idiot on the tour. Haven't been able to stand Windham Clark ever since Oakmont
