1st tee box at [Kleinmond Golf Club](https://www.kleinmondgolfclub.co.za/course) in South Africa’s western cape.

A [120m/131y par three](https://static.wixstatic.com/media/218fb7_19c05199a91245d78c9861e6cabd0de4~mv2.jpg/v1/fill/w_892,h_936,al_c,q_85,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01,enc_avif,quality_auto/218fb7_19c05199a91245d78c9861e6cabd0de4~mv2.jpg) which is completely blind. The starter gives you a line to the flag for the day, you take whatever club is your yardage, hit and hope!

It’s actually [quite open once you get to the green](https://i.ibb.co/vCKZJKP9/20231222-083010.jpg) and there’s an abundance of turtles. [This satellite map is a good perspective](https://i.ibb.co/7JmC4x49/klein.jpg) of the hole’s layout. A fun one, but not ideal for the first swing of the day!

EDIT: that is indeed a tortoise, not a turtle

Why you looking behind the tee box? Show us the hole!

I don’t know about that mate some of the subs here have really absurd opening holes 🤷🏻‍♂️

    That’s a terrible first hole

Saves me the trouble of hoping I hit it somewhere I can find.

South African golf i would bet, they love that design

This is what every hole on every course looks like to me.

I’ve played Kleinmond my whole life. That hole lived rent free in my head as a child learning to play! 120 carry over the fynbos is now not such a tough ask (and the green is big), but with no warm up and as your first shot of the day it really sets the tone for your round!

    Absolutely awesome course!

Awesome!! Let’s GO!! A wicked slice or snap hook both work on this hole!! I love it!! 😆☄️🏌🏾‍♂️

    Landscape looks very South African

Love that course, until the wind picks up.
