Welcome back to another episode of our Pro vs Pro series! In today’s video, we take on Sahith Theegala, in an 18 hole 1v1 Stroke Play Match at Panther National. This was quite the match as we both took on the 7,900 yard JT Tees at Panther National, with winds blowing 30mph and gusting 45mph+.
Sahith is a good friend of mine, it has been great to watch him move through the professional golf ranks to now a PGA Tour Winner and one of the brightest young talents on Tour.
Sahith attended Pepperdine University, where he was a 3-time All-American, Winner of the Haskins Award, Ben Hogan Award and Jack Nicklaus Award. Sweeping the top national honors for college golf, he was only the 5th golfer ever to achieve all 3 in the same year. He then graduated in 2020, turned pro and played on the Korn Ferry tour for a roughly one season before he earned his PGA Tour card. Sahith then went on to win the Fortinet Championship in 2023 on the PGA Tour.
📍 Panther National
This match was played on the championship golf course at Panther National — a Jack Nicklaus & Justin Thomas-designed 18-hole layout located in beautiful Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

All right, guys. Today we are doing a 1v one 18hole stroke play match at Panther National with none only Sah Tagala PGA Tour member, PJ Tour winner. Oh, that’s so good. >> Baby, that was so good. >> That’s one of the best all year. >> How good is that? Oh my god. Come on. >> That’s really good. This is sick. I’m surprised one of us chips in. Did I call it? Are you kidding me? Ready? Let’s go. Let’s do it. >> Go. >> Sneaky. Sneaky. That wind is That wind is tough. It’s windy today. >> I feel so bad on this tea box. >> I don’t want to take a chunk out of it. I’m a tow dragger, so >> nice. >> All right, so Sawith, we were just talking about it briefly, but >> we played last time with the ledges. You shot I think it was eight under in that first round. Was it? Or maybe six. >> That sounds generous. Probably like six. >> No, but cuz you doubled the last. I remember that. You had like the sickest round going >> on the was it? Oh yeah. No, I think you made like a triple on the last dude. >> But so you were he was going super deep. But I’ve always admired the fearlessness that you played with because you Yeah. You made a double or triple, whatever it was, but you kind of just like shrugged it off as if it was nothing. You’re like, “Yeah, you know, on to the next.” And then the next day you followed up with another five or six under par and you’re sitting like second or third going in the weekend. And to me, I learned a lot from that round. I actually still think about it every day because the mentality that you play golf with is more of a I’m going to try to do this then whatever happens happens. >> Yeah. >> At least it seems that way. So I want you to walk walk the viewers through a little bit more about that if that is the case. >> No, that’s 100% the case. And it’s something that my dad kind of instilled me at a young age is you know we put in so many hours practicing and >> I feel like the way we practice we also play a lot of golf so I’m hitting a lot of different shots and like really getting accustomed to being comfortable hitting a lot of different shots. So, my kind of mentality when I’m on the course is like just trust all the practice that I’ve done. Trust trust all the fun shots that I’ve hit as a kid. Trust all the shots I’ve hit money games. And I’m like kind of live and die by it, you know? >> Yeah. >> Um cuz I think the worst thing you could do in golf is play scared. So, I I definitely am a streaky player. So, when I’m when I’m hot, I’m hot. When I’m not, I’m not. But, I kind of have always liked that because one, it’s more fun. Um, I am maturing a little bit about that and scoring a little bit better. But yeah, dude, I just, you know, I love the game for what it is. And, and I think a big part of that is not being scared >> to hit not only a bad shot, but scared of hitting like a really good shot. A lot of my buddies that I’ve talked to, they’re actually scared of hitting a good shot. They’re like, “Okay, I got to hit it 15 feet to the fat side or whatever.” And there’s a time and place for that. But >> yeah, I just, you know, I love golf and I love hitting different shots. So, there’s definitely times where um maybe I should have a little fear, but I I love playing fearless. >> No, I kind of love that you kind of said like people are scared to hit the bad shot, but most people are scared to hit the good shot, too, which is a really good way to put into perspective. >> Yeah. >> It’s like what if it what if it goes what if it actually goes as planned? >> Correct. >> Right. Nobody ever thinks about that. >> No, it’s like it’s like we’ve gotten so accustomed to like and like nothing against decade. I think decade’s great, but like all right, hitting it to, you know, the correct side of the hole or leaving it in the correct place, but it’s like sometimes the shot just looks really good to you. You know, you kind of put that aside does matter, right? >> Especially on the tour, like everyone on any tour, any mini tour is getting so so strong now. And it’s like you can’t really win just by playing conservatively all the time. So >> yeah, when you’re feeling high, you just got to >> got to got to send it. I love that. So we’ll see him attacking pins today >> because it does not matter. Okay, 129. I got a little sandwich. Try and ride the wind. I don’t think I can fight the wind today. It’s too strong. >> They’re They’re firm, huh? >> Start. They’ll They’ll have a little bounce. >> Little bounce to them. >> Little bounce. I think they I would assume they soften up a little >> with all this with all this wind. It’s going to be wait softened from yesterday. >> Yeah, I think yesterday they it was straight carnage for the skin was okay. >> All right, we have a lot of wind off of the right. So, we’re going to hit a little shape shaper in there. Oh my gosh, that wasn’t very good. I thought it was sneaky downwind after that drive. >> Dude, you got ghost gusted. I watched that ball. It’s coming backwards. >> That was not a good golf shot. >> All right, we got about 354 ft. I went eight up that golf ball up the hill left to right. See if we can get the pace down right. Go. Just a tester to start. >> It’s so slow with that wind. Not the putt I want to leave myself for par. That was really slow up the hill into the wind. >> Left to right. >> My goodness, that is >> ho ho ho tw putt. >> People don’t know like how important those putts are. >> Especially when you’re in there about a fa birdie. >> People don’t know how important those are. That’s a round saver. >> That is a whole one round saver. >> Putting is going to be hard in this wind. Putting really tough to do that. >> Unless you’re James. Then you’re just a hooper. >> Just a hooper. >> Just a hooper. >> Yeah. >> I pushed it. >> Can’t be mad. Can’t be mad. >> Accountability. >> Just got to keep putting yourself in those positions. >> That’s right. >> It’s a tied hole. >> Tied hole. >> Dang. >> So good. >> 230 pin. >> What? How much? What do you think is helping? >> I think like 20, dude. >> I think 20. Yeah, it’s like a 31 hour wait >> straight down. >> So, >> I’m going to hit six and see what happens. >> This is the funny thing about >> yardages on tour. Everyone’s like, “Oh my god, driver 330, 6, 220.” But the greens are firm and the fairways are firm, >> so it makes us look really good. Wow. >> Settle. Jeez. >> I got away with that. Pushed it. >> It’s a good shot. >> Thanks. >> We can get away with any. That was like 4 ft right of the pin. >> Dude, it’s so windy to like It’s actually hard to make a back swing. >> You can’t stop the ball. Yeah, it’s like >> you can hear the whoosh in the back swing. All right, I got six iron as well. I’m going to try to play a little cut in there to soften this bounce cuz downwind it’s going to bounce a little bit harder. Yeah, great swing >> softly. That’s it. >> Yeah, that’s really good. I I don’t think you can >> Could have been Could have been seven, huh? But then you risk short. >> I don’t think you can stop it close. It’s just going to be 25. >> Be a lot of pars today, >> dude. You can literally drive on the T- box, too. >> Oh, dude. You can drive wherever you want. >> That’s what other course in America can you just drive on Tox and >> it’s encouraged to drive on the T- box. >> That’s amazing. That’s how golf should This is my first time wearing a tucked in polo here, I think. >> Oh, really? You mostly had gym shorts and a t-shirt guy. >> T-shirt. >> How good is that? >> Unless I’m like really grinding. >> Well, >> no. It’s It’s good life out here. >> Brad Faxton. >> Looks like it, right? >> Yeah. >> Yeah, that’s Brad Faxton. >> What’s Fax doing over there down the middle? >> Oh, just get him on the greens and he’ll show us how to do it. >> Yeah, seriously. >> All right. Got some birdie looks. >> God, what a shot, James. >> I’ll take that right there. >> That’s nice. Look at where these landed. >> Yeah, I feel like yours almost landed on a little bit of like a down slope on that right side. >> Yeah, honestly I’m not I got got away with that little bit of a push. >> I was happy with with that shot. So, what’s what uh so you got Sony is the first event? >> Sony’s first event. So, I got almost two months. >> Two months of prep. What does that look like for you? What are you going to be working on? >> Yeah, it was offseason’s really fun. Honestly, I know you know that. Just like >> met with my team, met with my trainer and coach. like, hey, what do we want to do next year? Like, how do we want the offseason to look? So, >> for me, it’s pretty simple. It’s just get in the gym, make sure I’m healthy and flexible, and then >> a couple swing things. We don’t really change a lot with my swing. It’s pretty unique. >> It’s very artistic. >> Yeah, it’s very That’s a nice way of putting it. It’s kind of sucks at times, but uh >> that that is not that is not true. >> We’re just trying to get it as consistent as possible. >> And how do you do that? >> A lot of setup stuff. Um, I’ll go see my coach in California and we’ll literally just drill setup stuff for hours and days. Um, not worrying about a single position on the swing. >> I’ve never heard that before, actually. >> Yeah. Yeah. And like proper weight at a dress and pretty much everything is like I want my setup to set me up for success. Yeah. >> And let my like >> instinctual take care of it with the swing. >> You got very good hands. So, you’re like letting your hands do the work from there. >> Exactly. And like it’s funny. I saw you making a bit of swing change and I get my club face pretty open at the top and I’ve tried to get it a little more neutral and it just kind of took my hands away a little bit. I have gone more neutral which has really helped. >> So that’s what I’m trying to in practice get it like perfect and then when I go normal it’s like >> instead of 25° it’s like 10° so at least I have to do less. >> Yeah. >> Which rate of closure I mean but Phil Mickelson was the highest rate of closure ever measured on PJ tour. >> He had a pretty good career. He was not afraid of letting that thing swing. >> So that’s the thing is like there’s no right way to swing it, but if you can just maximize efficiency with set up with me, club face, I mean, I’m going to keep doing it. It’s been working. I’m starting to hit it really nice. So >> exactly. >> It’s building that consistency over the offseason cuz like once you get to tournaments, like the last thing you want to do is fuss with your swing. >> Just go play golf. >> Just go play golf. >> I couldn’t agree more. We’re doing stroke play, too. Stroke play. >> Just stroke play. Just regular tournament play. Stroke play. Oh my god, >> I hammered it, but into the wind. >> Good birdie, dude. >> Thank you. >> Let’s go. >> It’s funny. Missed the last one. Make that one. >> It’s the mallet. >> It’s the mallet. >> That might be my first two ever on this hole. >> I got about 9 ft for bird here. It’s going to go a little right to left. Wind’s humming right left, so got to knock this in. Oh my god. How good is that? Three >> pair of twos. 230R par three. >> That’s >> Come on. >> Let’s go, dog. >> Give me some. >> This guy’s going to win. Qful. >> I need to I need to join you, bud. >> Yeah. >> What’s it What’s it like being on PJ tour? You know, I’ve played a couple events, but >> it’s crazy, dude. the first it took me probably two years to just get settled in and play golf. Um, >> but now that it’s like a reality, it’s it’s just it’s the most fun thing in the world. Um, >> it’s the best job in the world. >> The first couple years it was it was tough cuz I was always nervous like playing with anyone. I’m like, I know this is a dream come true and whatever. You put in the work to get there, but >> yeah. >> Oh god, I got to play Jay. Oh, I got to play every single day. Who was the first like guy you played with where you were like I’m really nervous like whether it was a Rory or >> Yeah, it was the the 22 Waste Management. Um I just got thrown into the pot so to speak on the weekend Saturday final group with Xander and Brooks. >> How good is that, >> dude? I was It was crazy how nervous I I wasn’t as nervous as I was during Cornfair Finals, but it’s the second most nervous I’ve ever been. >> You weren’t as nervous as Cornferry Tour finals. >> Yeah, we can get into that, too. >> That’s That’s pretty sick. But those guys are scary to play with. >> Why is it just the aura that they >> just the aura, man? Just knowing that they’re Well, now obviously both of them are >> some of the best players in the world and multi- major champions and I’m just walk >> dude. Walk with the swagger. It’s just another day. Another day on the course. >> All business. >> All business. >> Is this driver? >> Yeah. >> Straight into >> Is it into the wind? It is off the left mostly, right? Or in into off the left. >> Into off the left. >> Here we go. Wind is humming off the left. Got a driver. Keep it low out of the wind. >> Even wind. >> No, that’s great. >> Be great. Right side of the fairway. >> Fairway. >> Okay. >> That’s going to be a decision though. >> Yeah, it’s going to be right off. I think I’ll probably be laying up today with this wind. >> All right. Just trying to follow James. It’s probably a good thought for the day. Is that that other fairway there? >> Yeah. >> Over there. >> He’s just playing chess, not chess. >> It’s got to be other fairway, right? >> Center of the fairway. >> Jeez. >> Flop. >> I mean, it is blowing. >> It was straight for the first >> sustain. The mic’s probably not even working. It’s probably blowing 25 sustained 40 gusts right now. 35 gusts. >> The back swing is tough. >> The back transition. I don’t know how to make the transition. >> You got to just go quicker. You got to go really quick. >> Yeah, maybe. I stood over that too long. >> All right. Yeah. So, talk me through. So, you said you were more nervous at cornfair tour finals than you’ve been in your career. >> Yeah. So, >> I mean, I know what it feels like. I’ve been to I’ve been to Q school way too many times. >> No, dude. Q school I think Q school is the hardest tournament in golf, period. If anyone tries to convince me otherwise, they’re wrong because your career is literally on the line and you have one tournament to do it every single year. And of course, you can Monday qualify, you can get in other ways, but like >> in terms of the big biggest deal, it’s it’s Q school. But that’s what it felt. >> Correct me if I’m wrong. You’ve never gone through Q school. >> That’s the thing. I turned pro during co so I didn’t there was no Q school in 2020. So I played almost a full year of mini tours, which was great for development. And then uh the corn furry finals was my first chance at any sort of real status. And uh yeah, sure enough, it was the most nervous I’ve ever been. And >> I literally could not feel my hands at multiple points during the final round of the second playoff event. Um >> which was Ohio State or >> Ohio State? State. >> Where’s this ball? >> Oh no. >> Oh, just got caught in the wind. >> But that’s that’s insane. I had that feeling last year at Cornferry Tour finals in Q school. So, and I was I was three back in the number with five six to play. >> Okay. >> I end up burning four my last six to get my card in the number >> and that’s unreal. I I could not I made a 60footer. >> I made like two tapins, but it it was the most nervous I’ve ever been. And when people talk to me about like I played in some big events like I you know I played the US Open this year and I was T6 for round one. Like I actually wasn’t nervous at all. >> Yeah. >> Cuz the pressure was it’s like I only I only had things to gain. I had nothing to >> lose. That’s a great point. you have everything to lose at school. That’s that’s gutsy. Well, and then you look back at a time like that and you’re like, dude, I have that under my belt. I know when the pressure is at its highest, I can perform >> and it kind of like at least for me, the more reps I’ve been in like high pressure situations, I’m like, dude, it’s just golf at the end. >> And you’ve done it and you’ve done it right. So, now it becomes second nature. I mean, >> it’s like the best feeling ever to do it, too. >> Yeah. >> All right, let’s see what you got. >> I don’t I This is so windy. Like, I I don’t even know what to do, but I’m just going to hit a layup here. I got five iron. Just trying to not hit in the water. Should be okay. >> Nice. >> I’m going to have a long shot in though. >> Another five iron. >> That thing floated on me. >> That top groove. >> I was hoping for a jump. >> It’s going to be tough today. >> Might have another five iron. And high level. >> How far is the uh pin? >> 271. >> 271. >> Ryder’s right. >> Is like 250. Okay, then I can hit mini. Might as well. We didn’t come here to lay up. We came here to have some fun. >> I can’t wait to see this. This could be sick. >> We’re We’re We’re just So, now we’re deciding, okay, do we want to hit a draw and hold the wind or you want to hit a rider? If I hit the rider, it brings in that short right. If I hit the draw, at least it’ll kind of pierce. I’m going to go slight draw left side of the green, the wind should catch it and then push it back to the right. So, let’s just uh try to hit this in between those bunkers and let the wind do its thing. This is a big boy shot right here. >> Big boy shot right here. >> Oh no. >> A bail out. I don’t blame what I would have done. >> I just I just hooked it. >> Should be okay though. >> Sit. >> Honestly, it’s like a great layup. Great. >> Great layup. It’s >> right in the middle of the way short of where it was going to go. >> I should I should hit driver off the deck if I wanted to get close to that, but it is so windy. That’s one of those shots where we’re play if we’re playing with like a five handicap buddy. They’re like, “Oh, of course the the pro hits it hits shot and gets rest.” No, >> that was I thought it was being like the sand waste area. I would have dumped it out and then chipped on the green. Made a nice six. But now we’re in a fine spot. >> I have no idea what to do. >> 145. >> I want to lay up again. You said you just got back from he played Bermuda Championship blowing like it was windier than this which is hard to believe cuz it is so windy right now. He’s at 145 >> and he’s probably got to hook something to try to get it to go remotely straight. >> Yeah. Just going to try and like hit a low draw up against I got nine iron. See if it’s enough. >> Oh my gosh. Oh, I do not want to rehit that. >> That was so good. >> Look at It’s going right. It might. >> But you you went off the green. >> You drew that. >> I hooked that. >> Yeah, you hooked that thing really nicely. >> Cut. >> Thanks, R. >> Oh my gosh. >> That’s one of the best shots I’ve hit all year. >> One of the best shots he’s hit all year. 145 yards. All right, guys. We got 53 yards. This pin is on a little bit of a shelf and it’s downwind off the left, so it’s going to go hard and right. Just try to get this as close as I can. Put as much spin on as I can on it. That way I can generate well that way it doesn’t just take off on me. So 60° hand and try to drive this in there low with some spin. Oh, sit. Sit. Ah. >> It’s pretty good. >> Yeah. I need to land four yards shorter. >> All right. birdie putt. All right, guys. So, that wasn’t that bad, but I think it’s really cool. We’re This channel is going to be primarily focused with playing with great players. We got that video with Max Grazerman playing Sahala. We got Luke Donald coming on the channel soon. We got Brandon Woo coming on the channel. Um, we’re going to try to play with the best players in the world. try to showcase the difference between Cornfrey Tour, the PJ tour, whatever tours they’ve they’ve kind of made their ropes through, what their thoughts are as we, you know, try to make the PJ tour. All right, that wasn’t bad. I got an uphill putt, a little birdie putt. >> Look, I will take >> five today. >> Yeah, seriously. We got similar line. So, we got a good read on that one. Went a little bit left. You actually had to play the wind on these shots today. So, hoping for it to blow it a little bit left as it dies. >> Good roll. Oh, just pace. The wind honestly >> both. Like, if I hit that harder, it’s in. If I The wind doesn’t gust, it’s in. >> All right. It might get annoying the amount of times we say wind today. >> Wind. Lots of wind. All right, guys. So, before we head to the course, one thing that I do is I prepare my HelloFresh meal. Today, we have a coconut chicken curry that will be going into this container that will then come with me to the course and be my lunch for today. As you guys know, I like to practice a lot, which in the past has left me skipping lunch and not really hitting my macro needs. And everything is portioned out, too. So, you don’t have to measure things. Just pour it in there, stir it up, and then you got lunch in no time. All right, guys. So, if you want to try it for yourself, I was able to whip this up in about 15 minutes. We’re going to head to the course now. We got a match going with Sah Fagala. If you want to try out HelloFresh, 10 free meals plus breakfast for life. The link is in my description or scan this QR code. The free meals will be applied as a discount on your first order. This is for returning or new customers. Varies by plan, but check out HelloFresh. Now, it’s time to head to the course. We got a mattress off the golf today as you guys have already been watching. So, let’s go play some good golf while eating right and keep our bodies in perfect shape. >> All right. Was this hole number four? >> Hole four. This is a difficult hole. >> 290. >> So, we want to hit a little fade so we don’t run out into the farther bunker since it is downwind off the right. But try to hit a little fade. Hold it against this wind. Yeah, that’s perfect. Great ball. >> Thank you. >> Oh, that you can’t place it any better. Yeah, like I said last, just try and follow James. Didn’t do a good job on the last hole, but all right, that was better. >> Yeah, I mean, I think that’s position A. >> I think I’m 15 yards short of you. You might be the big dog here. >> No, no. I’m here. I think Chris is the big dog. >> Oh, I got you by a yard. >> That’s actually a tough pin. Just got to stay short and left. >> 166. Stay short and left. >> Right is bad. >> Right is bad. >> It’s It’s not the end of the world, but it’s not good. >> It’s not It’s not good. It’s >> not good. I just These are so crosswind. I don’t know what to hit >> cuz you’re almost like hitting like up into it. >> It’s like into the wind almost on this angle. Let’s see. You couldn’t like cuz you could hook a wedge and and hit a close but not >> a little down maybe. >> What do you got? >> I have nine. >> Okay. >> Trying to figure out how I think I’m going to hit like a 55 shot with a nine. >> Okay. >> Hope it works out. Straighter ball. >> Let the wind push it a little bit. >> Yeah. Not going to try and fight it too much. >> Oh my gosh. Sit. Sit. Blew it 20 plus yards. >> Sit. All right, I’m going to go opposite. I’m going to try to slice with an eight iron. >> I like that play. I think that’s a good play. >> I think we talked about yesterday with Max and he’s like with this much wind. >> Yeah, you need to really club up >> because if it lands next to the pin, it’s going to it’s still going to bounce like So, we’ll see. I don’t know. Try to slice this eight iron in there. 166 closer to 160 shot, but make sure I fade it. Oh my gosh. And that’s the problem. Leave the face dead open. H. >> Okay. It’s short. I think it’s short enough where it’s Okay. >> It’s just getting way too cute with that. Talked way too much. >> If that got pin high, that would be trouble. But I think there I think you’re going to get that up >> where he said don’t hit it. He said don’t hit it right. And where do I hit it? Right. Perfect. But it’s that kind of goes back to my thing about like when you have a shot that’s like difficult. Yeah. >> It’s so hard that even if you miss on the fat side, it’s like kind of a hard up and down. So, it’s like you kind of got to not be scared of just going ahead and stacking it in there. And like sometimes you’re going to hit a shot like you did and >> you know what the beauty of it just go and get that thing up and down >> over the over time you’ll hit bit more more >> I don’t want to say more better shots >> just like more committed shots. >> More committed shots. Yeah. >> Rather than just be like I cannot go right. I’m just going to hit it left. >> Yeah. I had the right intention. I just it just left the face wide open. It’s like you have to you I felt like I needed to cut that so much to keep it straight that I blocked it instead of really cutting it which is a different >> dude that’s a hard one. It’s almost like you can almost probably hit seven iron >> to to almost open the face >> super slice it >> dude Bermuda it was it was sick. >> Bermuda is probably fun. >> Yeah. >> But yeah, it was it was so strong that I like >> they moved all the par 3s up to like 130 yards and we’re still hitting forearms like just chipping it. >> Those are elevated T’s. It’s It’s like you What was it? A 12 13 the one that goes straight downhill. >> Oh my god, that hole was so hard. >> And like the Bermuda’s this long left, >> dude. Harry Higs hit driver. 140. 140 yards. Hit driver. >> No, we didn’t. >> Swear he’s he’s like, I’m going to hit it in the front bunker anyway. >> 40 yards and he hit driver. >> Driver. >> Unbelievable. >> I mean, that is fun. Like, that is a lot of fun. >> Yeah. >> All right. Well, >> let’s see those hands. >> I got to test these hands today. Everything’s running away, so it’s going to be really, really fast. I’ve got this knob to work with. So, it’s got to get over this, but then obviously stay short. This is not where we want it to be. You know, it wouldn’t surprise me if he chipped this close. But, I mean, just look at this pin. It’s like 2 yards from the slope, though. Take it down to my ball. We’re going to try to go low into the hill, have it pop up with some spin, and then check. It’s hard cuz this wind’s going to blow it past this hole. All right, this is going to be a really good test here. No sit. Just didn’t nip. That was really close to being good and now it’s just >> this I need to go with. I can’t leave it short. >> Just such a hard shot. >> Carnage out here. >> Just you got to be cute with that if you want to get close. You just got to limit the damage. I I did the damage on that approach shot there. >> At least I warned him. I would feel bad if I didn’t tell him that right was bad. >> Like >> I don’t know what you do there. >> You hit it here. >> Yeah, >> you hit it here. You try to make a long one. If not, I mean like you got balls rolling down the hill. >> This is going to be really slow. I dare myself to get it there. >> I also don’t want to hit it 4T high. >> You don’t want to hit it four feet by, >> dude. But I if I leave it short, I feel like it’s gonna come back. >> All right, let’s see. Knock it. >> Yeah. >> Okay, I will take that. >> Stay. >> I will take that. >> Very nice. >> Thank you. >> All right, we got uphill. Really slow into the wind. Similar putt to saw. Different angle for par. See if we can knock this long one in. Oh, it’s tracking. >> I didn’t hit it. >> Try. >> Hit the ball. Dang. Clean this up. Just can’t take anything for granted when it’s windy. Just full focus. >> Good catch hole. >> Like I said, nothing for granted. Good for I don’t even know if I pushed that. The grain kind of >> it should want to go right. >> Go right. Yeah. This next hole is probably my favorite hole in the course just cuz >> it’s a shorty but it’s always into the wind and it’s got an island green >> and that pin’s back today so it’s be really tough to get this ball close. >> It’s going to be one of the hardest 400 yard holes we’ll play. >> You get a driver today. That’s >> Yeah, you can hit driver which is good. >> Okay, straight into the wind. I think the play here is just going to be to hit a low one and just skirt it past that right bunker. I don’t want any part of that left water there. >> Well, good swing. >> Go, go. Oh, >> I don’t know. Didn’t cut. >> I thought that that was like 250. >> It is. >> That might be wet. >> I saw a bounce. All right. Similar thing. We got to keep it a little bit right of that. But it’s This is playing tough. >> Yeah, that’ll work. >> Should be short of that bunker. >> Bounce left. >> Oh my gosh. >> It’s almost short of the other bunker, too. >> You know, I I underestimate how long it’s playing. Like, usually on that line is fine, but >> that’s crazy. Like, how far was it to that that that stake? >> It’s I legit think it’s like 250 to the steak. 255. >> 240. >> Yeah. No, that’s why I thought it was good. I thought it was good, too. >> We’ll see. >> It was honestly was I think I see I think I see it. Yeah. >> Get away. >> Do I go shoe off? The thing is I don’t even think I’m going to go for it. >> That’s I just said it. I’m in the fairway and I don’t think going forward’s the best play. >> Okay. I’m just going to see what it is the end of the fairway. I’m going to lay up. This is crazy. laying it up with 155 yards. >> I This is insane. Just going to hit an 80 yard shot down. >> 80 yard shot. Yeah, good play. Perfect. >> I almost wanted that to like get in the rough somehow. >> Take off the spin. >> Take off the spin. >> If you hit it from there, you got no spin control. >> Yeah. So either >> I just feel like I was going to knuckle through. I’m excited to see yours. >> I mean, this is going to be interesting. Got a sidehill uphill lie. 165 pin straight into the fan. I’m going to go low hard seven iron, which honestly might not be enough. It’s wild. >> I’m going to go with this. Like I feel like it’s a sixiron. Like >> the good thing is this is a shot where you just have to like sack up. >> I got it. Yeah, you got to get >> if you get a good one, it’s going to be a good one. >> 165 pin. >> Y >> give me I got to get the six walk up area. >> Okay, we’re going to go chippy six iron. >> Oh, that’s a golf. >> Oh, that’s so good. >> Sit a little. >> Do something. >> Oh my god. >> On the green. Fantastic. Take that. >> Good shot. >> Thanks. It looked like it was long. It looked long and then it was almost not >> then it was almost not even over the front of the green. >> I got 80 yards. Normally auto lob wedge but I got sandwiched cuz it’s so trying to control the spin. >> Honestly, I think I hit the wrong I think I could have hit pitching wedge from here. I legit hit that like 105 yard shot. It went 75 yards. Thanks, R. >> We got a little up and up and over putt now. About 50 feet or so uphill into the wind and then down grain downhill left to right. >> See if we can do this. >> Sit, sit, sit, sit, sit, sit, sit, sit, sit. >> Yeah, good putt. >> All right, good try. >> Had a chance. Did I hammer that? >> Thought you made it. >> Thought I made it. I thought I made it too. >> Now you got a three foot slider. >> I got like a 4 foot slider. >> Oh yeah, that’s actually further than >> way further than I thought. >> And it’s downwind, down grain, downhill. All right, >> this would be full Mongolia. >> This would not be good. If you hoop this, this would not be good. This goes in. >> Oh my god. Are you kidding me with that? >> That’s just luck that that even stayed up. But thank you. >> Good putt, dude. Good putt. >> Thank you. That’s big. >> That is huge. I got this putt to tie the hole. >> Sideways at the end. >> Yeah, this is going to go hard right to left. It’s all about the gust of the wind. >> Yeah, great putt. >> If I had missed that, that would have gone 8 ft by. >> No, but you have to do that or else you’re not going to make it’s not going to make it. >> Yeah. All right, we’ll take a four. Saw. That was a sick four, dude. >> Thank you. >> Hooping today with that mallet. We got to get that mallet in the bag, >> apparently. >> Come on. >> Most memorable putt so far of your career. >> Most memorable putt of my career. Um, that’s probably a bad thing that it doesn’t pop up. So, I think my most memorable putt ever was a miss. It was my first PJ Torch sponsor of 2021 at Napa. um had the greatest week of my professional career up to that point. I was T9 going to the last hole and top 10 gets into the next week and I I had no other guaranteed starts really the rest of the year. Um no status and it was easy par five. Kind of clunkked around the trees. Anyway, I had like 50 ft for birdie and I knew I needed a two putt to not only make the biggest check of my life by like 10x but also get into the next week’s event. And I lagged it up there, not a bad lag, but put to like 4 and 1/2 ft. I remember I like got over the next putt and the leaderboard’s like right there and the and the putt’s like here to here and I I literally went completely numb. Hands were shaking and I swear I think I was over the ball for like 10 seconds and I hit it and look up and it’s like a cup low already from 4 ft. Missed it. Finished T12. One of the saddest moments of my career, but also a moment that I look back on. I’m like, “Okay, how can I learn from that?” And that was probably one of I’d say top three most nervous I’ve ever been. And uh yeah, I don’t know. It’s It’s probably the most memorable putt for me. Unfortunately, it’s a bad one, but we’re going to get some good ones going. I made some nice ones for sure. Uh nothing to win yet as a pro, but made some nice putts to to get into the top 10 to the outside. So, but that that one is a memorable one and I think a story that I tell a lot because now it’s like >> if I have a 4-footer and I’m nervous, I’m not going to be more nervous than I was there. So, >> the left edge of the bunker. Okay, wind’s off the left humming. So, we start this left and curve it back to the middle of the fairway. Oh my gosh, dude. There is so much wind. >> Bunker. >> Great. Exactly where I wanted to hit it. All right. That was good. >> Little Birkshshire swing. It was good. >> Good. Nice. That wind is definitely off the the left. >> Calf for this hole though. That’s a It’s a bit of a reprieve. Okay. >> It’s just all about the wind. Like you go downwind and the ball doesn’t move at all and it’s easy. You go crossway and it’s >> really hard. >> Usually that hole is like a three iron sandwich. >> I Last time I played I remember having a sandwich and >> I smoke driver seven iron six iron. >> Yeah, cuz usually like hole one’s just straight down. >> Okay. Yeah, I’m just in the middle of the bunker. >> This This will only be like This will be like 150. >> Yeah, perfect. We’re okay. >> Let’s see. We got >> 170. >> 163 crosswind. 163. I’m going to go eight iron cuz I’m going to I’m going to try to play this draw against this wind. Should be a little bit of help, too. But okay, let’s get this one on the green. How gusted was that? >> I almost fell over mid swing. Go hard. Okay. Way short, but I I literally almost fell over. I’m sitting here. I’m like, wait, how did you even swing that 35? I just got gap wedged. Just going to let the wind coasted in there. Came out of it. All right. It’s okay, miss. Just gave it the baby whiff. You can tell where I hit it there. Low on the face. It’s in the middle, but very low on the face. >> Yeah. No, we left our side. I mean, it’s perfect spot. Straight uphill into the wind. >> Front pan. Yeah. >> I wouldn’t be surprised. >> Wouldn’t be surprised if one of us chips in. Ooh, little chip in. All right, I’m going do that. I sneaky like chunked Mike cuz I almost fell over. All right, short game test. All right, it’s going to be pretty fast. It’s going to land on the down grain spot >> and then go hard left to right. >> What do you think the biggest difference between the corn ferry and PDA is there? Not a not a big difference. It’s a it’s a really fine margin, but I’d say just consistency. I’d say a cornferry guy can hit pretty much every shot anybody on tour can hit. But just they can do it nine out of 10 times instead of eight out of 10. And that’s how small the margins are sometimes. >> Very nice. >> Better than the other chip that I hit. Thank you, sir. Take that. We’re at three foot par. >> I want to say it’s good, but I’m going to take a second look. No, I’ll go knock it in. >> I think it’s good. I think it’s good. That looks That looks within 3 ft. >> All right. Try and knock it in closer. Oh, did he >> did I call it? Called it. >> I I swear that I I had a weird feel. I thought you were going to chip in. >> Are you kidding me, dude? >> Thank you. >> Good birdie. Come on. Calls it from the cart. >> Just showing up for James here. >> Unbelievable. >> Just shown out. Let me make my par. My ho home par here. >> Nice par. >> I feel really good about my par. I really do. Unfortunately, South had to one up me with that chip in birdie. You maybe the venue won you like just off the green. You just opened that face up and went like full swing flop. >> It’s a commitment for sure. >> It’s a commitment. >> Well, the thing is like I actually struggle with like not easy chips, but chips where you have a lot of options. When it’s like a tough shot or I need to hit a spinner or something like that, at least I like have a lot of mental clarity. But >> because you know, yeah, it makes decision for you. So sometimes when I’m in one of those thoughts, I’ll be like screw, I’m just going to hit a mega flop or sick >> just because like again it’s just it’s crazy how much how important commitment is versus even like >> hitting the right shot. Sometimes you just want need to feel good about it. >> No matter what it is, just commit to it. >> Yeah, just commit to it. >> Love that. What hole is this? Is this seven? >> Seven. >> This is a getable one. >> Par five. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Just anywhere right of that left bunker is good. >> Okay. I’m going try and actually hit a draw and ride the wind just because if I do that, I think I can cover some of the right bunkers. Oh, just like that. Stay there. >> Might need to sit. >> Look good. >> I think it it’ll be really close. It’s either just in the fair or just in the rough. It’ll be fine. I can lay up. >> I might as well just go after this one because honestly, if I don’t, I’m going to lay up. So, hit it hard up that right side. Let the wind take it down on the left. >> Oh, that’s beautiful. >> Yeah, great ball. >> Thanks. Leave a wind. Look how much is moving. >> That’s perfect. >> Okay, thanks. >> All right. Well, I guess we didn’t do this in the beginning of the video, but we can do it now. Just introduce yourself and I want you to like what what do you want people to know about you? where you from, who you are, like >> Yeah. >> Um, Sagala, just living the dream job, playing on the PGA tour. Uh, just very thankful for the opportunity. My parents sacrificed a lot and I know a lot of uh, you know, a lot of parents did and and I feel like they don’t get no credit. So, shout out my parents. I had a lot of good people around me, a good team. Um, but yeah, I grew up in Southern California just playing on the munis. Uh, you know, one thing about golf that I always like to tell wives to feel like I’m young, the younger generation is like, >> it wasn’t even like the golf part. That was the best part is making friends. It was such an easy way for me to make friends through golf. And that’s what I’m so thankful for. So many great relationships. Met this guy through golf, >> lifelong friends. And yeah, I just, you know, very lucky to be what I’m doing. And uh, >> yeah, it’s hopefully this is just the start of the journey. But >> yeah, we we all know that this is just the start. Every time I see you on TV, it’s immediately this guy’s got that superstar, you know, >> trying >> just spark. So, I think >> like you said, this year has been a lot of, okay, recovering from an injury, trying to get back, and >> luckily winning gives you that, you know, job security, which now next year it’s like you can go out and do it again. And we know, we know you can. So, >> 100%. It’s just like every opportunity you get, just try and take the most out of it. And we have such a cool opportunity to do something special every week. >> Is that me? God dang it. I’m all the way back there. >> I gave you credit though. I I drove up here. >> I gave him that new hand. >> You guys are deep. >> Put that in your >> No, the wind. >> Yo, the wind switched right when you hit, Gary. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> It turned down wind, bro. It was into when we hit >> as far as I can, too. 240 pin. >> All right. >> I’m going to go with I’m going to hold it. The draw doesn’t even make sense. I’m just a little holdy hybrid. The wind’s going to end up taking a little bit, but we got hybrid in hand. Suck on that, Gary. Come on. Oh my god. >> Sit. Sit. >> Go in. >> That is unreal. Come on. He’s chirping me for hitting a dolly back here. Being the shortest one in the group. >> That is sick. >> We’ll take it. >> What a great shot, >> dude. Thanks, >> dude. You’ll see up there by the green like right of the screen is not fun. That was sick. I got 230. Just trying to match James here. Wind off the right. I got a little Heavenwood. It’s a nine. It says nine, but it’s it’s more like a seven. It’s like 23°. But just try and ride the wind, not hit the water. >> Oh, I hit it. Wind. >> All right. Short though, >> short. It’s good. I think I flopped it just enough. >> You said you flopped it just enough. >> Flopped it just enough. It actually felt like a good swing. >> Is that a flop 5wood? >> It’s actually a nine, but it’s like a >> a 9wood. >> It’s like an 8wood. 23° 23 and a2. >> How do you hit it straight up in the air? >> Look at a shaft. And how short it is. It’s like a Hulk Hulk shaft and stiff >> and it feels like a 5 iron in my hand. >> This feels like a five iron. >> Yeah. >> It’s been such a good club. >> Ninewood. >> Ninewood, dude. So fun. >> No four iron. >> Wait, actually. >> Yeah, I go five iron, 9wood, three iron. >> Is that new? >> I’d say I do it 10 events a year and then the rest I just put in a four iron. >> What do you base it off of? Like why nine would it a four iron? >> A lot of the times it’s if one if the rough’s really thick a lot of the times like I can get a 9wood 180 190 yards where I can’t even hit like an 8 iron out of the rough. >> I’ve never understood that. I’ve never been able to hit wood out of >> dude. This I never thought it was a thing, but I put it in first time at the US Open at Tory where like I literally couldn’t even hit a sandwich out, but I could hit this out like it’s it’s unbelievable. >> That’s crazy to me. I’ve always tried to hit a wood and I always just like top it >> and then just like into firm greens. This thing is so sure. >> Yeah. Well, that’s the thing. Cornfrey Tour is a lot of like pancake just weather, dude. >> The weather. Yeah. >> I want >> All right. Well, eagle putt. What? What are we I think s two under. >> Two under. >> I’m even. >> Yeah. So, he’s got a little two shot lead. I got a eagle putt here, though. He’s chipping for eagle. Hopefully, he doesn’t hoop another one on me. >> All right. >> Pretty simple chip. A little up and over. Just trying to knock it in close. Get a stress-free birdie. >> That’s it. >> Easy. >> Okay. Okay. >> Not bad. >> A little slippery there at the end with that wind. Everything’s pushing it that way. So I gota I noted from from my putt >> it’s going to break hard left right especially with this wind. But yeah I mean S has some of the best hands in golf. It’s unbelievable how good he is around the greens. >> What was uh what was your favorite event that you’ve played on the PJ tour? >> Not not majors. >> My favorite probably u uh Memorial Jack’s tournament at Columbus. It’s sick dude. >> I mean Rivier that’s what Max said too yesterday. >> Did he say that? Yeah. It’s just like logistically the best event. They treat catties great. Like catt milkshakes. You can eat all three meals at the locker in the clubhouse. Okay. >> Meet dinner which is huge. >> Probably top three food of the year. >> I thought food was really good. When I played it with Brandon Woo. >> Dude, Zurich is >> the sushi. >> Zurich’s a sick event. >> So fun. >> Oh, really? >> Yeah. Acme. Acme party. Did you go to the player party? >> I didn’t go to it. >> Some of the best food. >> I should have I should have went. >> They have this black and fish. It’s like melt in your mouth. >> I don’t I’m not even like a fan of southern or Cajun food, but that stuff is so good. >> All right, we got an eagle putt here. It’s going to break a ton from left to right. Just feed this one in. >> Oh, good roll. >> Just waiting for it to break. >> Just didn’t take it at the end. >> All right, birdie. Good birdie. >> Knock it in, dog. >> Probably deserve more to be honest. >> It’s okay. You know what? Being the shortest guy in the group here, I’m okay with my birdie. >> Okay. A little What is it? 6 feet up the hill. Should be committed with the stroke. >> Very nice. Good bird. >> Thank you. >> Oh gosh, this guy’s tough to beat. >> It’s a good half. Snuck out of there. >> Just this guy’s tough to beat. Something with a mallet in the wind makes me feel a little calmer. It’s a little heavier. >> Is that something that you might put into play? Maybe maybe wind play. Put the mallet in. >> You know, it’s funny. I’ve always thought about that, but >> cuz you’re blade guy through and through. >> Blade guy through and through just with speed. Like obviously inside 10 ft I would rather putt with a mallet, but >> my speed just gets so bad from long range. >> Got it. >> That like >> it’s not worth. I’m not like a, you know, a lot of the times if I’m not hitting it good, I can I’m good at getting it to like 40 50 ft. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> And then I’m like, that’s usually the best part of my game. And now I’m sitting there with a mallet. I’m like, oh my god, I’m going to three. >> Sure. Yeah. Play your strengths. >> 58. >> Par three. 158. Pins that front left. Is that what it is? >> It’s like middle left. >> Middle on top of the middle side. >> Sure. It might be like back left almost, huh? >> Okay. 158. >> Okay. 158. I actually have seven iron or eight plus iron. I don’t use seven, but um 58 probably playing like an 80 shot. Just going to fly it under the wind. Ah, hung it a little bit. Okay, it’s a fine miss. Chickened out a little. I might just rather than come back onto the green. >> Where’d you go, boss? Is that you on the hill? >> Yeah, I just kind of kind of blocked it and gave it a little more than I wanted, but it’s not a terrible miss. >> Gosh. Seven iron. >> Yeah, dude. I probably should have hit eight. >> I’m going to try to hit a low draw in there. Get get aggressive with this one. >> Hook. Wow. I tried to hook it so much. Come down the hill. Oh, good night. >> Okay, >> not bad. >> Another professional miss. >> I tried to hook that thing so hard. Yeah, just so tough to get yourself to do that. >> I know. I just can’t go left. >> That’s exactly. It’s auto bogey. >> I mean, you could probably putt this, but I’m going to chip it just for fun. Try and chip it in again. Good luck. >> Oh my gosh. Like that’s unbelievable control. Toyota chipper. I would putt that a thousand times every thousand. >> Um, >> when you got hands like that though, just you might as well. >> Well, the the funny thing is in a tournament I think I’m putting that but >> in practice >> that’s what I do too. >> I love chipping everything in practice >> happening for par. >> Good par. >> Thank you. Little off the right side. >> Oh, did he do it? Did he do it? Oh, nice putt. >> Come on. >> Sick roll, dude. I love this. >> I love that >> the putts are going in. >> Little back and forth. >> This is nice. >> Oh, I love love that. There we go. Give me Oh, >> that was It’s nice to see long putts go in. You’re not expecting, >> dude. I love it. Especially in a match. >> Yeah, this is what it’s all about. Three under, two under. We got hole number nine coming up which is pretty tough hole, huh? >> It is a tough hole and I’ll tell you what the the course record out here from the backs we’re playing is only eight under and like that was on a calm day. >> Only eight under. >> Like just to sit just not trying to like say how good we’re playing but it’s not easy to go low out here. >> It was it was really tricky. >> Says hole number nine is 540 yard par4. >> Right on your left hand side in front of you there’s a red tea box right in front of you. 10 ft in front of you. Right. >> Right there. Is it into the wind? It’s uh off the left. >> Should we just play it from 540? >> Yeah, whatever you >> All right, let’s go. We’re playing from 540. >> So, can we reach that left bunker or no? >> No. >> Okay, so you just hit it. >> So, the line is like that blinking tower, >> but you can go as far left as you want. >> Okay, gotcha. >> Wind off the left. I’m probably going to hit it way left and just live with it. >> Perfect. >> Little more. Little more. So good. See it up top, too. Okay. Is that T? >> Yeah. >> Thanks. Good swing, dude. >> Up top is nice. Thank you. >> I’m going to try to copy that exact same thing. High fade. Let the wind ride it to the right. Aiming way left. >> You almost fell over. But swing. Go. Right. >> Fine. >> That’s okay. >> It’s just going to be blind. Second shot now. >> Yeah. >> Soft was able to get it on the top. It’s going to be on the lower side. So, it’ll be a little bit blind, but it’s okay. >> I heard that place is sick. >> Quick question. What >> Yeah. >> has been the biggest difference between the Corn Tour and the PGA Tour? >> Yeah. So, um Gary just kind of asked me that too and it it’s dude like I think >> as pro golfers and like we played with one another so often that the margin is so small between a cornray tour player and PJ tour player. I think the easiest way I can explain it is like let’s say someone on the cornfairy tour is able to execute a shot eight out of 10 times. The guy on the PJ tour will probably be able to execute that nine out of 10 times. >> And I think the types of shots that you’re able to hit are very similar. Like I think that in terms of raw talent and game, it’s it’s pretty much the same. >> But when you get on tour, it’s just um I I also think you have more resources once you get on the PJ tour and like it’s easier to get better. But there’s not a huge difference. But besides that answer, I’d say another overarching answer would just be short game. I think guys short games are so so good >> getting the ball up and down when it matters. See a shot here or there. Yeah. >> Like you know, we’re all good at basic chip shots or whatever. But I’d say again like you never see a guy on tour not get it up and down from a basic spot. It feels like and >> that’s what I need to do better this year. >> But it’s not a big difference. It’s a very small difference. Yeah. after the flag. >> So 255 pin. We just hit a gem of a hybrid. >> Yeah. >> A hole ago. So we’re trying to bottle up that same exact thing. This is a blind blind shot. 255 pin. We’re playing a 500 plus yard par4. This is great. Okay, let’s see what we can do. >> Oh, I pulled it >> kind of. It’s just It’s just a little left. It’s kind of where you said. Yeah, >> I think that >> Okay, not bad. >> Yeah, that should be okay there. >> Like we said, short came >> is what’s important. So, let’s see if we can get that one up and down. >> Yeah, I have faith. I got two two four wind. I think it’s straight off the left. So, I’m going to hit five iron and ride it. Hopefully, it’s enough. If it’s just short, it’s all good. Ah, too much. Get in the bunker. Catch the bunker. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Bunker. >> I thought it might have gone on the water for a second, but >> it wasn’t wasn’t that weak. It was a lot of wind. Pretty good. Yeah, it was a lot of wind. I hooked mine like I hooked my hybrid hard. >> That felt pretty good. And I think just a little too much cut. >> Yeah. >> All right. Again, in a tournament, I would chip this every time, but since I chipped on last hole, I need to chip it on this hole. >> I love it. >> You got to practice it, right? If you’re uncomfortable, this is what it’s all about is practicing what you’re uncomfortable with. >> It’s how you get better for >> That’s how you get better. So, this is a good miss. Should be a relatively easy bunker shot. Just kind of get it on, have it trickle down. Hopefully, I can just execute. >> Uh, settle. Okay. >> Okay. I just didn’t play it far enough left. >> Downhill down grain shouldn’t do a whole lot because the wind’s countering this slope. This is where contact’s really important. This is what I’ve struggled on in the past is these little shots. Getting contact. So, let’s see if we can work on this contact here and get this one nice and close and give it a little scare. Oh, that was the contact there. That was so bad. Ah, I got to get the handle more forward. Gosh dang it. >> Oh man, that was I Dude, I just I bounce into those so much on the little shots. I got to get my low point forward. Like >> Was that a blob wedge? >> Yeah. I just feel like it’s such a little swing that I I just always bottom out. >> That’s my That’s my miss, too. >> Needs a bit better at that. Downhill, right to left. >> Yeah, I need to knock this in. Oh, it hit something and went left hard. >> That thing was like a triple breaker. >> Gosh dang it. Ah, five. >> All right. Got like 9 ft here for par. Should be a good look. Just a little right to lefter. Try and try and knock it in. Oh my gosh. Just didn’t quite give it enough. That’s okay. I deserve a bogey there probably. Thought I had it. >> Oh yeah. >> That’s a grain lip out once it gets low. >> Tough hole. No good. Those are two those are two up and downs. We should we should be getting up. >> Yeah. I mean that’s the difference sometimes of winning a tournament, missing the cup. I won or it’s those little shots that you look back on. >> Yeah. Thanks, bro. 100%. >> Got to get better. We’re at >> You’re one under. I’m two. >> One under, two under, through nine holes. >> Course is playing pretty tough. >> Yeah. >> Got nine holes to play. >> Playing solid. Just got to keep it going. >> Yeah. But again, those are the like if both those putts go in. It’s >> they’re round savers. >> Those are frustrating because those are putts that I think we both hit how we wanted. Y >> just sometimes it just doesn’t go in. >> Unfortunately. How gross. >> Unfortunately, >> you can wish it you can wish it to go in as much as you want, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to go in anymore. Yeah. >> Got to read it better. Hit a better putt. Whatever. But I mean, we hit our lines. It’s just fraction. Fraction. >> Yeah. >> Anywhere. >> All right. Hole 10. Trying to hit it the rock. Let’s go. >> Wind’s so strong. I’m just not going to try and fight it. Try and work it with it. >> So good. >> Thank you. >> So good. Thank you. Wow. That was sweet. Thank you. >> Okay. Well, we’re going to try to do the exact same thing. A little spinny cut. >> Yeah, that’s okay. >> Wide hole. >> Be a long way in, but fair. >> Long ways in. >> That’s all matters. >> Chirping me. Chirping me still. Be the shortest in the group. >> Yeah, I think it’s going to be the shortest in the group. >> All right, we got to hit a high cut sixiron here. Here we got 196 up up six yards like 202. If I draw it, it’s gone. So got to fight the wind here because seven’s probably not enough. >> It’s good swing. >> Soft. So much wind. >> Yeah, that’s that’s a good shot. Should come down. >> Should come down a little bit. >> Down a little more. All right. Birdie pup. >> Cool. Up a little. It’s usually like four to probably four here. Okay. >> Sitting down a hair, but should be no problem. Same thing as James. I’m going to go one less and just cut it up against. I think it’s good. I think it’s It might be a little deep. Maybe a little deep. That was good. >> That was sick. You kidding me? >> I’m glad you got that on video. I thought it was going to go in. I guess they’re all on video today, huh? >> Look, it was going to go in. >> I was waiting for the wind to hit it left and it wasn’t hitting it. >> I can slice the ball with the best of them. >> It’s like Look at >> It’s so nice right now. >> Yeah, >> so nice. >> Perfect weather. >> All right, team. We got a good match on our hands. Saw this playing some good golf. We’re playing playing some good golf. Got to be a little sharper. Let’s knock this putt in. Both got about 20 feet or so. >> Good looks. >> Yeah, not bad. >> Yeah. >> All right. Downhill, left to right, back into the wind. So, it should in to be super quick. Feel this one in here. >> Come on, baby. >> Nice call. >> Thanks. I just it felt like the wind was almost like holding it up. >> Sick birdie. >> Thank you. I’ll take that bird on this one. >> That’s a good bird after that wimpy drive. >> All right, do it to me now. Come on. >> Match. I think I weirdly weirdly a straight putt, too, just because of the wind. >> Feel it if you want. >> Oh my god. Are you kidding? >> I had a weirdly straight putt because of the wind. >> What’s going on? Let’s go. Let’s go. Good, dude. >> This guy is tough to beat. >> Just a little back and forth. It’s >> almost like you’re on board. >> Almost >> the turf. >> Almost somewhere. We’re both going to be very shortly. >> That’s That’s the plan. >> Hopefully for a long time. >> That’s the plan. We’ll play the Zurich together. >> Dude, >> I have played so poorly at the Zurich. >> It’s tough, dude. The Zurich’s a tough tournament there. But >> is that like 650 from the back? I think it’s 680. Oh my god. Okay. Yeah. >> It’s actually We’re playing over I want to say just >> still over 600. Yeah. >> All right. >> This is a tough hole. I think this is one of the toughest holes in the course. >> Hard five, but one of the toughest holes in the course. >> Absolutely. >> See what you got. >> Yeah. I’m going to try and put it just right of those palm trees. Is that probably just bunker or maybe not >> on the edge? I mean, it’s either land bunker just barely gets over >> just based on this wind. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, I think that’s some probably bunker. >> All right, I got driver trying to hit a little bit right of that. >> Went slightly off the left. >> Thanks, Yeah, good ball there. >> Thanks. A little high, so I won’t go as far, but in the fairway. >> Yeah, I think it’s a three shooter for sure. >> Going to try to tee up my driver off the deck and see if I can get it within 100 yards. >> 323. >> It’s definitely definitely not a two-shotter today. All right, I got mini driver trying to get it up there to a good number to lay up. Side lie. Got to hit this one hard. I don’t think I hit it hard enough, but it’s going to be It’s going to be in that gap. >> Okay. Well, right in the gap. Good layup. >> All right. I got four wood. I got away with my drive for sure. Like if I was in one of these bushes, it would have been bad. So, I’m just going to try and lay up here. All about contact. Ball first. Ball first. Nothing else matters. >> Couldn’t tell, but it looked like you hit it good. >> I don’t think it cut enough for me. I hit it good. Just so windy. Thanks, R. >> I’ll take it, though. I got 130 >> into the wind up the hill. I might hit eight iron. >> All right, nine. I got nine iron. 130 into the wind. Just try and get a on the green. I will be very happy with a five. Walk out of here. That was so good. >> That was so good, Sy. >> Thank you. I got a mouthful of sand. >> Unreal. >> And in other places, but I will happily take that. >> All right, that was a very impressive golf shot. I find that to be the hardest golf shot. The hardest shot in golf. 32. 32. It’s probably playing like 40 into the wind. So, I got nine iron. Trying to hit a low flight of nine iron in there. Oh, draw stay. >> Okay. >> Not my best. >> Stayed up on the top shelf >> somehow. It stayed up on the top shelf. Maybe it’s going to start rolling when we get up there, but I need to be better at that distance right there. I I struggle with wedges or low irons or high irons in fairway bunkers. What do you think about >> Um, again, I I just trust my setup. I I actually the main thing I really do is I grip way down on it. I grip probably a full inch lower than I normally would >> and just and I and I don’t like to slip. So I do dig in a little bit. So I go I make sure to go down even more than I normally would on a normal punch shot. Um >> but then are you normal from there or you >> normal from there and I’d say the only the other difference is just a little bit more back in my stance. >> So that just makes you get ball first. That’s the most important thing. >> Yeah. And then I just I just trust it. Honestly, I was terrible at it, too. And then I was like, why don’t I just practice for like a month straight out of fairway bunkers at least like 10 balls with short irons? Cuz long iron’s no problem, right? Cuz it’s always picky. But short irons would always chunk it or high face spin it. >> And honestly, just getting the good shot. Yeah, that was such a good shot. It just came out so crisp. >> Yeah, >> I got to do that more. I got to practice it more because I only practice when I’m in like when I’m in a tournament. You never want to range and like get very bunkers cuz >> to be honest I only did it for that one month and other than that like I’ll do it once in a while but like not too often. >> That’s it. >> But I have like a really good idea of what like at least I have a plan. If I don’t execute it it’s a hard shot. >> So you you set up little back little choke down and then you just do normal. >> Little back little choke down and normal. Yeah. >> I’m going to try it. I got to get better at those. I usually just try to avoid the bunker. I think you did a good job with that >> at all costs. I’m like, “All right, fairway bunker is basically a hazard.” >> What I’ve started to do is I started to try to hit it high. >> Oh, interesting. >> I tried to I’ve tried to like just >> Yeah. >> Same everything hit it high cuz it forces me to not dig. >> Okay. >> So, like even if I bottom out behind it, >> Yeah. >> I’m like so shallow that it it gets >> doesn’t go like that much shorter. >> Exactly. >> I think I would chunk it. >> On a day like today, it’d be brutal obviously, but But that’s the cool thing. Everybody’s got such different It’s probably achieving the same thing. >> Yeah. >> But it’s like everybody’s so different with their swing. >> Well, I had to learn cuz I hit in a lot of Pharaoh bunkers. So, >> you get a lot of practice. >> A lot of practice. >> It’s like me from the woods. I just I get a lot of woods practice. I’m good at shaping walls. >> You have a chip out club? >> No. >> Dude, I got a sixiron. It’s my chip out club. >> It’s like if you’re in rocks or something, >> dude. It’s the best club. >> Is it whatever >> you swap it? You can hit it low and curve it both ways. >> I thought it was because like you like bang it up so much. I’m like, you get free clubs, do whatever you want. >> It comes out like the right window for a punch out. >> I’m between five and six because four is way too low. Like >> smother into the rough >> into the rough. And you’re always like, “Oh, what happened?” >> Well, you had no launch on it. >> Yeah. >> But yeah, six is like you could almost like put it back in and then try to hit it high from there. >> Yeah. >> Got another long putt uphill right to left. Winds right to left. So, I’m going to play a little bit more. You can yank it. Sol’s in there close. So, I got to knock this in. Oh my god, this is sick, dude. >> Let’s go. >> This is incredible. I love this. Nice putt, dude. >> That was humming, too. That had some pace to it. >> Nice putt. >> Give me some. >> We’ve made We’ve had to have made 200 feet of Pine already, if not more. >> Let’s go. >> This is This is crazy. I love it. Oh my gosh. Are you kidding me, dude? >> Dude, I had to >> just one after the other. I can’t get I can’t gain any ground. >> I had to. Nice putt, dude. >> Good birdie. Well done. >> Jeez, >> man. Automatic. >> Sneaking away with a half. Basically >> sneaking away with a half. I’m I’m sneaking away with a half. I had to make a 50footer for this, >> dude. That No, that was a two birdies on that hole. >> Oh jeez. >> We’ve done that a few times. Like hole two. Hope two is a brutal hole. We both birdie. This is a brutal hole. >> You made the bomb on two and then I I made a good one. >> All right. >> What a match. >> This is what we want. >> This is >> This is what you came for. You came to see >> this. This is good content. >> Birdies on a really tough day. I was thinking pars today, but >> yeah, I was >> making some birds. >> We probably won’t make a lot of birdies in this. >> You say we’re not going to make a lot of putts. That’s I feel like the only thing we’ve been doing really well is making some putts. >> Hooping. >> Hooping. All right. On to next. Uh it makes everything else so so much easier cuz you don’t have to tack pins. You just middle of the green, you’re like, >> make it. >> That’s it. >> It’s so depressing when you don’t make putts. >> When you hit it to six feet all day and you’re like two under and you’re like, “Oh man, >> Scotty just every round.” >> Well, he’s putting he’s doing he’s doing all right. >> He’s also You look at his his data golf. He’s like >> really really good at putting. >> Yes, he’s like one of the best putters on tour this >> people people make like cuz you see him as one 10 footer and you’re like, “Ah, he’s he’s putting.” >> All right, what do we got here? This is like Max 260 >> wedge. So, I think I’m going to go ahead and lay up, right? Yeah. >> Are you fouring or what do you got? >> I hit ninewood like a two I’m going to hit like a 245 shot >> and that’s not you’re not counting the wind. You’re >> No, like two all included like 270 max. >> Okay. >> Gosh, what a match. >> Xander and JT always hit driver here. Sickos. >> Thank you. >> Very nice. >> Thanks. Fairway. I’ve got four iron. >> I’m just going to try to hit it hard. >> There we pick a really specific target. That green side bunker there just left of the pin. >> Might it’ll be on It’ll be on the edge. It might be in the rough. >> I think I saw it. >> Okay. >> Never mind. I got 148 and I’m hitting my 122 club. So, pulling for a lot of help. I’m going to go ahead and smash it. There’s a little bit of a back stop right of it. Um, >> it’s kind of a weird shot, but hopefully it just takes the slope in there. >> I got to keep making birdies to stay ahead of James. Ah, hook more. It was close to being decent. >> Just too far right. >> All right, Gary. We got a little of a opening here. >> I made a big mistake off the tea. But that’s honestly just not knowing the course. Got 147. Now that I’m in the rough, I lose a lot of control. So, I’m going to play it for 10 of jump. So, 147. And having no spin, I want to land it about 10 yards short of the pin. So, 127 shot. And there is downwind. So 127 becomes about 120. So I’m going to hit a 120 shot out of this rough and try to bounce it up there on that right side. Softly. Softly. Softly. >> Oh, that’s so good. >> Oh, let’s go. >> Nicely done. >> That’s so good to judge that. >> A little bit of luck there, but it’s a guess. So landed perfect. >> Thank you. That was nice. It’s like it’s when you’re in the rough, you lose. So you don’t lose skill, but it becomes a lot of a guess and a lot of just a guessing game. >> Very educated guess. >> Cuz like >> I mean golf has been around for so long and you ask the best players and the best coaches in the world and it’s then they’re telling you it’s a guess. So >> yeah, it’s not you’re not going to figure it out one day. It’s like no, it literally just you don’t know. >> Correct. >> All right. Some guys have like equations with jumpers and like rough. What What is yours? What do you do? >> Mine’s not really an equation, but I kind of break it down to three different lies. Like obviously you get the lies that sit on top of the bermita and then you get the lies that are like 50/50. I think those are obviously the hardest ones and you get the lies that are all the way down. >> And all the way down honestly I think is the easiest because it’s never going to fly too far. Like it’s never going to spin out of the Bermuda rough but a lot of the times you can tell just by how far a ball like if it’s a really bad lie you’re probably taking 20 30 yards off of the actual carry number. So I feel like those are the easiest cuz it’s they’re always going to come out hot and knuckly but they’re not going to carry far. They’re almost diving out of the sky. >> They’re almost diving out of the sky. Yeah. So, I’d say a lot of the times I take one or two extra clubs. >> And then the >> 50-50 ones >> 50-50 ones are brutal, man. That’s that’s when it’s like a total total guess. But >> a lot of the times, like you can make it jump, right? Like if you hit it if you hit a less lesser club and hit it almost a little bit fat. Not actually fat, but like get a little grasp between the ball and the club, >> you can make it jump. So, a lot of times that’s what I go for. >> And then how many yards are you playing for a jumper? Yeah, I’d say 20 yards is probably the average out of this Bermuda rough. So, a club to two clubs based on how I’m feeling that day. >> And then wedges maybe a little less. >> Wedge is a little less. But like I I think the the key is to always take out the one that >> let’s say you’re trying to hit more club and hit it softer and it comes out hot. That that’s when you’re like 50 yards over the like what am I doing? >> So, always error on short. >> Okay. >> And then when it’s sitting up, it’s always going to spin. >> Always going to spin. Yeah. Cuz you catch more the top of the face, too. >> Yeah. Club more. >> Yep. All right. Kind of a tricky chip. Try and hit like a half flop just landing on the green. If it lands short, hopefully it just kicks towards it. >> No, just came out better than I thought. >> Did you feel like you had more control going high there than if you try to go low without >> Yeah, I I don’t know. That’s one where I probably should have taken a different club and just like bumped it. >> Yeah, that’s what I was wondering. This could be a two shot two shot swing. Honestly, with this wind, it’s probably straight. Like legit. I’m going to play it fairly straight. Oh >> yeah. Just the wind held that up. That usually is like >> I didn’t see that breaking that way. >> I know. I think the wind All right. >> All right. Got a chance to take the lead here. Sloppy five >> downhill right to left. The wind’s countering it, so I’m going to play a little bit less break than I normally would, but it’s still going to be pretty quick down this hill. >> A great putt, dude. >> Thank you. >> Sick birdie. >> Thanks. All right, come on. It’s >> got a lead. >> Come on. Got the lead. Let’s go. >> That’s a great birdie. That is >> tradies that you like to see. >> Dude, we’re James came to play. I did too. Just sloppy bogey. But >> all right, guys. You haven’t seen Chris on camera yet, but we’re actually playing with Chris Capella. He’s out here. It’s Capella, right? Yeah. >> Perfect. He had us out here to Panther. Um he’s a high school golfer. He’s hitting it 30 by me. >> Guy’s a baller. >> If you have any questions for me or South, I mean, what would it be as a junior golfer? There’s a lot of guys watching it who are junior golfers. So be my number one question would be how much time what percentage of your time are you spending like inside 150 hours wedge game? >> Yeah, it’s probably going to be different for both of us. Um for me I actually I I work my days into chunks. So I go putting chipping range work. Right now I’m working on a swing change. So it would be more like 30% range work 30% putting chipping for I mean it’s 33% called so it’s equal. Typically, it would work more like an hour and 15 on the range. >> And then I would shift that other two hours to putting and and chipping for me and wedges because I I have a really I don’t struggle with it, but I want to get my wedge flight down to 30° launch and that’s something that I I practice all day. >> So, I don’t know that that’s that’s me. So, 70% for me inside 100 yards. >> Yeah, that’s a great question. I’d say I’m pretty similar. Um I really don’t hit a lot of balls. Not a ball beater. Um, if you look at the percentage of shots you hit inside of 125 yards, which is a wedge, and honestly, inside 140, it’s probably half the shots during your round, chips, putts, whatever. It maybe more than half. Um, so I’d say mine’s right around 70 75%. Um, I love chipping. >> I hit a lot of shots from 20 to 50 yards, >> everything. Um, I don’t spend a ton of time like I’d say I’d hit I hit my AR in the same amount as I hit like a 50 degree, but from 20 to 50 and I’d say from 50 to 100 yards I spend a lot of time too. So I’d say I’d say at least 70% of my time if not more. Yeah, I don’t hit a lot of a lot of drivers, a lot of lot of big clubs cuz like >> I think it’s a little simpler on those. you you really can’t have too many variations of the shot. Whereas like a wedge shot, you have so many different variations. So just getting comfy with that. >> Do you with your wedges, do you float them down to 30? Do you ever think about launch angle? >> I don’t think about launch angle, but I try and get him as low as possible. My coach is very old school. He’s like, get that thing low, dude. Get it out of the air. >> So that’s the same thing my coach, but he’s like, get it under 30 if you can. >> Yeah, I’d be curious to see what mine is. I feel like I’m on the lower end. >> Um >> probably 28 then. But >> yeah, >> like that pretty dang low. Yeah, it’d be cool to test. For me, if I can get a 30, it usually comes out with tons of spin >> and I can control distances for me at least. >> So, like when you want to hit it low, like let’s say you have a 110 yard shot. >> Um, what is that like 56 for you? >> I’ll go 52. >> 52. So, like if you’re trying to get under 30, would you always go with like not a full shot, just like 90%? >> Never go full. Cuz when I go full straight up in the air, >> straight up >> for me. for me unless I draw unless I draw. >> If I draw it, I can keep it low, but then I feel like it goes skip rip and it goes like hard left. >> Yeah, that’s a tough one, too. You want to avoid that one. It just goes straight left on the green. >> So, yeah. >> And I do like my my putting drills sometimes take me two, three hours cuz I do them to completion no matter what. You guys have seen them do the Death Star tournaments. Unfortunately, sometimes I don’t do them and it’ll if it’s a windy day, like I’ll be on there for four or five hours and then by that time I go to the range for 15 minutes. So, I have like my priorities set on short game putting drills and then whatever I’m left over it goes I go to the range. >> I kind of like that. That’s sick of this guy grinds though. This guy’s ah >> sometimes too sometimes too much. I need to learn to chill too. >> There is a line. >> The Death Star drills are super crazy. Oh man. >> All right. 227. I got four in my hand. I’m going to try to hit a draw here because I want it to curve as little as possible. That way it’s a softer landing on the green. If I ride it, it’ll probably bounce hard to the right. So hard for here. Let’s see what we can do. >> That’s a good swing. >> Go, go. It’s going to eat him. >> Oh my gosh. >> It’s a good shot. >> Is that up top or No. >> No, it’s good. Yeah. >> Okay. >> That ball was getting hit sideways. >> He It was like hooking the whole way and then it just went like this. >> That’s honestly a great shot. Thanks. Yeah, thank you. >> I’m going to try and do a very similar thing but with a five iron, but yeah, just hold it up a little bit. >> Oh, this is so good. >> So good. >> Take it right. >> Get there. >> Stay. Stay. Yeah. Okay, it stayed. Why did I walk after you were like you weren’t even walking. You were like walking left. You were like walking all the way over here. >> I just striped and it felt good. >> That was a good shot. >> Now you’re I think you’re close to the >> No, dude. That like two three more yards and that’s almost in the hole. >> Yeah, I think maybe four iron was the I don’t even have four iron. >> That’s the thing. You got your ninewood. >> Ninewood. I don’t know. >> That’s hard to hook. >> Yeah. Left right wind. >> No, that’s not the shot. >> All right. Well, we got six holes left. So, we’re going to link all your socials in the description below so people can go out and follow your career. >> Thank you. If you do have any questions specifically for Sawhead, >> yeah, >> comment them. I’ll text it to him and he’ll respond. I’ll get >> I’ll get it out of him and then I’ll I’ll text you back. >> We’ll uh Yeah, I’ll be happy to answer any questions. It’s always the the great thing about I think I’ve asked a lot of questions to guys that, you know, I’ve looked up to and I’ve been on tour to and you see such a wide variety of answers and honestly that makes me feel better about myself just like there’s no one way to do it. Yeah. But it it’s really helped like getting all these different opinions and different answers and kind of like seeing what works with you and so yeah be happy to answer any >> like you said like you said it’s pretty easy for the resources to get better on the PJ tour but it’s also the access to the minds like I played a practice round with DJ for the USO but I played a practice round with Luke Glover just like asking them questions like even playing with you it’s like these little things you pick up on on like your chips around the green seeing things >> it makes me better. >> It’s like not even exactly like it’s not even necessarily like super tangible things. It’s just like be when you are around like the best players in the world, you just like find yourself getting better >> like how you approach things, how it’s just yeah surround yourself people who want to be like >> I admire a lot of like my first time knowing you >> was not knowing you but knowing of you I I qualified for the Riviera US amer >> and they did that story on you >> and I was like who is this kid like and then I saw you played you played really well you had a huge crowd >> I think he’s at Riviera >> and I made match play that was the first time I ever got a wagger >> cuz I wasn’t a golfer. >> I got my wager cuz I made match play football. >> I followed your you know I followed your curs and when we played together I was like >> this is going to be I better enjoy it while I last cuz he’s not going to be in the store very long. All right, I’ve got to go up and over this slope. Like I’m almost looking all the way up here and then having it come down sideways. Winds here. So I’m into the wind but then straight downhill sidehill. So this is all feel here. Good speed. Oh, >> it just kind of like straightened there in that little >> Whoa. sick. >> Little gully. >> It’s a good putt. >> Thank you. >> I got I had an extra like footer roll out. >> I It looks like it’s going to snuggle up there and then it just kind of keeps going. But >> you want it. >> All right. Try and tie it up with James here. 30footer. Should be pretty. >> Let’s see. Let’s see it. If >> another one goes in, that would be nuts, dude. >> I want to see this go in. >> That would be nuts. I >> think that’s really short. >> Oh, no. >> Slow into the grain. >> Yeah. >> All right, some testers here. >> Little clean up. Yeah, this is a I feel like we haven’t had a lot of these today. No, >> we just keep making all our long ones. So, >> should be uphill just right center. >> Very nice. Good roll. >> Thanks. >> Good committed stroke right there. Thank you. That’s all you can do. >> I got this a little left to right. >> Yeah. Nice three. >> Thank you. All right. Two good threes on that hole right there. >> Seriously, >> impossible. Let’s see. Saw. He said he wanted to chip this one. Let’s see if he can make it with the chip. >> Gosh, that contact’s just so good. better speed. >> Like, are you are you feeling like getting left there throughout the whole >> I don’t know if I’m feeling getting left, but I just start with my weight so far forward. >> That’s because it’s super ups slope, too. Like I tend to go back >> and my back on my back swing, I go forward like I I tilt. >> That’s what I meant. Yeah. You get left. That’s so good. >> Lean into it. >> Yeah. On my back swing. >> Lean into it, but you got to be careful not to dip down because it’s like easy to like dip down. >> It’s more like I do it with my putting, which isn’t good. But like I’ll like go like this, >> right? >> And then that allows me to >> How do you go left and up? That’s like >> Yeah. I don’t know. >> Yeah, that that’s impressive because I definitely would go left and down. >> It’s my shout out my coach when I was a kid. >> Shout out coach. >> Do that. Rick Hunter. Legend. >> Rick Hunter. All right. We have a 530 yard par4 that we will probably play up cuz it’s dead in time. >> Yeah. I say we play one T up, but you guys it will still play. It’s already one T up. So, >> okay. Yeah, >> it’s still going to play. We’re going to have I think we’re going to have >> 520. It’s like it’s 10 yards out. >> Yeah. >> All right. So, for all intents purposes, we have 520 yard par4. >> Back pin. >> Back pin. >> Dude, this motor is in place. >> Yeah. Can we not? We can’t really cover it. >> No. >> Oh my gosh. This hole is a beast. Smoke driver and see what happens. All right, we got driver. We’re just trying to hit this straight >> and hard. >> Find a small target right those palm trees. Oh, and I spun it again. That’ll be short of the bunker. >> Oh my gosh, it almost didn’t get to the fairway. >> I’m going to have 350 yards into a par4. >> You’re I think I think you’re going to have a mini in. >> I’m going to drive off the deck cuz it’s that bull green, right? >> It is. It’s a fun second shot. >> Yeah. Nice. >> It’s a fun second shot. >> All right. Same target, palm trees, and smash. Nice, dude. That was center. >> Thank you. >> It feels good to take a full whack at a drive. >> Yeah, that was nice. I hit it straight off the heel. >> Right house. >> Okay, >> that’ll be your life. >> All right, drive off the deck. Let’s have some fun with this. >> Yeah, >> that’s really good. >> Get a little left. I think that’s going to work towards it. Ah, >> that was close. I just left it out a little bit. >> You hit it decent. I think that >> I hit it well. I hit it really well. >> That honestly could be close. Like >> it’s I think it’s >> all right. 10 ft. Let’s just hope it’s somewhere around the green. >> Like if it gets like over this little hump there, it’s just >> All right, we’ll take it. >> Oh, yeah. I guess so. I guess it could be okay. >> I don’t see her ball, so that’s a good sign. >> I hit it. I hit it. Nice. That was a really good DoD. >> Good. >> You big DoD guy or no? >> No. >> No. >> I’m too scared, bro. >> Too scared. Come on. You scared. Do you like with your short game shots, do you like do full swings from five birds away? >> I just like I don’t know. I don’t hit drive off the deck that well. >> Yeah, I got you. >> Oh, yeah. I got 255. I got forward. Should just be a good one of these. I just need to land at like 230. I think I can get 230 with this, but we’ll find out. >> Shoot. >> Too hooky. >> All right, you get to test your short cam again. >> Yeah, I’m I’m going to go ahead and say that that is impossible. >> Oh, actually, >> it’s about as close to it as it’s going to get. >> All right. Well, I’ve seen you do some impossible things. >> It might be short enough, maybe, but >> I mean, >> just can’t go left. Okay. >> That was a bad mistake. >> All right. Well, hopefully mine Oh, now I see mine. Okay, >> that’s a great shot. >> Thank you. And a middle green. >> Honestly, that a little unlucky. >> I don’t know. I was too close. I was playing 300 to get back there. Like I will take that any day of the week. We got a middle of the green. >> Yeah. >> 520 par4. I had driver twice. >> That’s why I smothered mine. I tried to >> tried to get as much out of it as you could. >> Probably didn’t need to, but yeah. I don’t know about my shot there. >> So, you got to go. >> We’ll make it work. We’ll make it work. >> Land it in the rough, trickle it down, and then hopefully use the back stop. >> I could have I could maybe use this little side >> with this wind with this wind direction. Yeah. All right, guys. Thank you for watching today’s video. If you want to see more of these videos, if you could hitting that subscribe button, you already made it this far in the video. It really does help the channel, helps bring people to it, helps make me monetize it. That way, I’m able to pay for everything that is involved in making these YouTube videos. So, we got Sahal out here today. We’re having a great match. Some back and forth birdies. But if you could like, comment, subscribe, do all of those things, it would help me and I appreciate it. I appreciate all the support you guys have given me. Um, this YouTube journey has been a lot of a lot of fun. But we have five holes left. Let’s see if we can close this match up. And yeah, we’ll see you guys. Appreciate it. >> All right, S. Let’s see what you got, kid. >> Ah, this is not looking good. Just going to go for it. >> Into the wind. I feel like you can stop this thing. >> We’ll find out. Oh, so close. >> All right, >> another like 5T. It’s perfect. >> It’s just like so hard to not go under it in the Bermuda. >> So hard. I got about 50 feet. >> I’ve made a couple long ones, but this one’s just all about speed. Let’s see if we can get a close. Yeah. >> Come on. Come on. Come on. Work back. >> Work back. >> That’s awesome. >> Great putt, dude. >> Thanks. >> That’s good. >> Thank you, sir. >> That is good by me. >> We will. That is one of the best fours I’ve made in a long time. >> Played some of these hard holes. Great. Oh, we’ll take it. All right, knock it in, dog. >> This would be a nice one. >> This would be a huge P. These are those ones that were the round savers that we’re talking about. >> These are the slight bonuses that >> just feels like a birdie. It makes feels better than a birdie. >> Feel like I made a birdie. >> Oh, it’s low. >> All right. Good speed. >> All right. >> All right. Five. >> Take my medicine after the second shot. >> Yep. I always miss that putt low. Come on. Home course. I’m going to grab a little >> I heard the cookies. I heard the cookies are good here. >> Rally diet coke. >> Little DC. >> All right. So, your your guys math update. >> I am four under. >> I’m two under. We got four to play. >> Four to play. >> Some really hard holes coming up, too. So, >> yeah. >> See how we can finish. It’s like 15 and 18 are two of the hardest holes in the course. >> This par 3 is nuts. >> 238. >> Yeah, that’s crazy. Oh god. Oh. Ah. My seawe snacks. >> Oh man. Oh man. They’re flying out. >> All right. I’m going hook for >> try to ride this wind. >> I’m going to try to run it up the front of the green. Play a big hard hook. >> Actually, I actually don’t really need to hit a hard hook. So just a draw. Oh my god. >> The shot tracer. That’s insane. >> I think it’s dry. >> It’s across the path. >> That’s insane. >> You think that’s dry? >> I don’t know. >> It’s going to be real. >> It’s going to be wet. >> That was just trying to be way too much. Like >> it’s blowing 50. I don’t really need to try to hook it. Got two iron. >> Yeah, I have a three iron. It’s like a 19 and a half degree. It might as well be a two iron probably. >> I don’t know how hard to hit it, so I’m going to go up against and just hope it’s the right club. It was a scary shot. >> Oh, the cut. >> I chunked it. Cover. >> I think that’s good. >> Get over the bunker. >> Yeah, perfect. Very nice. Great shot. >> I’ll take that. >> That didn’t really sound chunked. That’s >> Did it sound okay? >> It sounded good. Okay. Okay. Maybe I’m being hard on myself. >> Yeah, it’s not a nice >> 240 yard hole. >> All right. That’s why normally I like to fight against the wind. I don’t like to ride it when it’s blowing 50 cuz it l literally moved 85 yards in the air and I’m probably in the water now. And then I got to drop. >> I don’t know, man. I I I I’m putting good vibes on it. I think you’re going to be up. >> I just don’t see it. >> But look how much rough is there. >> I know. It’s going to be a sick par when you make this part. If I can find it and make a three. >> It’s either three or five. Oh, I see it. Okay, I guess I talked myself into it. Got to get up and down now. >> Yeah, 100%. Again, if I’m a betting man, >> we’re alive. >> Hey, I’m missing the right spot now. I’m tripping into the wind. >> But you got the DC in your hand, so that might be a little two for you. >> Really? Rally DC never fails. >> See what we can do. >> 50 yards. >> 50 yards left of my target. Great. All right. Well, I’m going to send this straight up in the air and try to have it stop pass it right now. We’re trying to just get a look at a look at take five out of play. Okay, let’s see. We get wind into so we can get this close. Let’s try to make a sick three. >> So, I need a big comeback here. Ah, he’s short. >> Go. >> Oh, and that’s exactly what I didn’t want to do. >> Okay, the door’s open. This is a tight match, actually. >> It is. It’s really good. I feel like I was a little too lacadasical when I was up in the match, but I I got two down quick here. So much wind there. Thank you. Jeez, >> I needed to hit that like 70 yards. That was just a brain fart. I think I just looked at the pin and I went up with my normal feel. But normal is not today. It’s blowing a lot and I got to got to hit a better shot there to try to work on the short game. I’m going to go high. Typically, I’d probably putt this or bump this, but been working on this high shot. I want to get my hands forward, have it just pop, not super high, but just medium height. Let’s see if we can hit this one close. Really need to get this one up and down. >> Go. >> Yeah, nice shot, dude. That was good. >> This is a huge putt. If I could somehow make this two shot swing. >> Just want to give it a chance. >> It’s very wet. >> Give it a chance. I think >> Oh, look. >> That looked good for the longest time. >> I just hit a little little frame. >> Oh. Oh, sit. Why did I hit it so hard? >> Gosh. All right. Trust your reps. >> Back of the cup. I like that saying. >> Yeah. Good pop. >> That was That was a gift. He gave He gave us a gift there. >> Got away with one. >> All right, knock it in. All right. Gosh, that sucks. >> Christmas came early for me today. >> I just clobbered it. >> Yep. All right. >> Hockeyy’s tough. >> Hockey is tough. God, what a That hurts. >> That was a gift. >> That hurts. >> You guys are the right mindset about it and everything, too. >> That’s a catch. You just said it too hard. >> Yeah, it it looked like a >> happens. >> All right, we got to drive a little par4 now. So, a really good spot to get some strokes back. >> This is a great hole, >> especially this wind. It’s straight down a little off the left. >> I think we’ll easily get there, which is usually you can’t fully get there. >> This be a good hole. How far is it cover that bunker? >> Uh, nothing. Okay. >> So, I’m going to go hard mini driver up that left side. Try to let the wind work it in there. >> Come on, Wind. Come on, Wind. >> Come on. >> Just short left of the green. >> That’s good, dude. >> Thanks. >> I’m going try to make >> Looks great. I’m sure. >> I think it’s time to press. Time to press down. >> Keep slide >> more. >> Yeah. >> Huge bounce. >> It might be in the bunker. >> Did it bounce up over? >> It’s pretty short to that bunker. >> What do you got? You see it on camera or no? >> All right. >> Gosh, it was close. I just didn’t slide it enough. >> Um, so wait, I want to talk to you about goal setting. Do you have like goals like for this year? Do you have a goal in mind or do you I mean I know you always are focused on the process but do you have these goals you want to achieve? >> I think this year I kind of am reverting back to my rookie year goals. >> Yeah. >> I’m not like a super super goal goal oriented guy but I like having like certain benchmarks and >> I think for me this year it’s not more it’s not much about the results but more about the process like you said and just want to feel healthy. >> Yeah. >> Um >> but you’ve done that you know you >> Yeah. fully healthy now. So that’s great. I just want to stay healthy and I know when I stay healthy like I can compete and play my best golf. Um it it is tough during a long season to stay healthy. I know you’ve been through it DP and cornfs in a row, right? >> Oh my god, it’s a grind on your body. So just pace myself a little bit better. >> Not to put too much stress on individual. >> What else do you do to like keep your body in good shape week to week? >> A lot of recovery stuff. Um >> like Normatex and or what else? >> Yeah, I like Normatex. Um there’s this thing called Firefly. I don’t know if you’ve used so good. My legs feel great after that. And then I have a physio on tour and then my trainer comes with me a lot. So a lot of working out, a lot of just like moving. If you move like I know you know this, but you just feel so much better intuitive because after a long day on the course, you don’t want to go and just do nothing. >> That’s the worst thing you can do though because like that’s when you can make the most amount of gains I think because you feel so much better the next day when you move. >> Every time you work out, no matter when it is, you always like, “Wow, I’m glad I did that.” >> I’d say if I have a goal though, it’d be to get top 50 next year. Get into the signature event. Top 50 in the world or top 50. >> Top 50 FedEx and hopefully top 50 world too. >> Kind of go hand in hand, right? >> I’ve been spoiled the last few years getting into the signatures and the majors and this year I’m just normal schedule. So >> someone to work for, right? It’s like adversity, try to get back and >> 100%. >> It’s good because I’m on this side slope. So I got to figure out exactly where I’m trying to land this ball. I’ve got to go high and soft and get some spin on it. So, I’m going to go left of it. Make sure we get contact. S, you going or am I going? >> You go. >> Okay. Let’s see what we can do. Ah, wait. Sit, sit, sit. Gosh, man. You got to open the face up more than that. That’s a bad one. I almost want to putt this. Is that crazy? >> No, that lip’s a little >> That is a little steep. >> Dang. All right. I might It’s probably just going to go other side of the green. >> Yeah. Or do I try? Maybe I try and get cute with it. Huh? Cuz like if it’s right there, it’s fine. >> You landed in the rough. I have a hard time taking. >> Okay. >> Oh my gosh. >> Sit. Sit. >> That was like as good as you could have done. >> Yeah. >> Thank you, >> dude. That rehearsal was insane. >> I I clipped it. I hit the grooves. I mean, that’s >> all right. This guy’s good. He came to play. He came to play. I got to make this putt. >> Yeah. So, I think if you see the best bunker players in the world, it’s the part of my game that’s not the strongest part of my short game, but I think Rory is one of the best bunker players in the world. Xander, they get that thing open and you literally can’t get open enough because you’re not hitting the ball first. You’re hitting the sand. So, when you get that club face open, you just got to trust that it’s going to come out high and soft. I see so many people like kind of lifting and and hitting it like this. And that’s that’s the nice thing about sand. And you don’t have to hit ball first. >> Way harder. >> 20 ft. Yeah, it sneaky is >> Yeah. No, it’s really fast going that way. So, let’s see what I can do here. Gary, I’ll go ahead up then down and right to left. I’ve made a lot of good putts of this length today. Let’s see if we can get one more. Oh my gosh, the wind just the wind just held that there the whole time. All right, take a par. All right, this is a massive putt. I think the wind’s going to hold it. So, I’m I’m going to play like right center, nice and firm. Ah, just broke >> left of the hole, too. >> I actually hit it right where I wanted to. Right center just broke >> before from that bunker. Honestly, give yourself that good of a look. That’s good. >> Very nice. >> Two. Yeah. >> Two holes left. I’m two up. Stroke play. Anything can happen. We got to really get five. >> A lot of water on the last two. >> There’s a lot of water in the last two. Like you just said, a lot of hard good opportunity though to make a birdie on the next. Sun’s going down. So, let’s make sure we finish. But, all right. Got a match. That’s what we wanted. Run out. >> Okay. So, if I’m going to go full send and try to actually hit this over the bunker. >> I think that’s the point. I think that is the point. >> All right, let’s just go full send. >> Oh, go so hard. >> Okay. >> It’ll just bounce right out. >> I I would I hope so. >> I hit it. Well, >> all right. That wasn’t my first >> might do my little mini Burkshshire here. >> Oh, I followed. >> Same spot. Car golf. >> I hit it hard. >> It’s actually good to win off the right. >> Yeah. And for him it’s six. >> What does a typical day look like for you when you’re out here practicing, trying to get better? >> Yeah. I I love to go to the gym to start cuz during a tournament I always go to the gym to warm up and uh it’s it’s nothing crazy. I’d say gym I I spend no more than an hour if I’m playing golf. I’d say 45 minutes if I’m playing golf and then >> come here, get grab some food. And I never practice for more than I’d say an hour and a half at a time. So, if I have block practice available, like I’ll do it for max an hour and a half because I start to lose um mental focus and then I’ll go play a few holes >> and then try to do what I’m doing in practice while I’m playing and then come back and practice more if I need to. But I love playing golf. So, >> I could probably do more of that actually. But honestly, I cap my day at if if I’m working for more than I say 8 hours, it just feels like physically I’m not >> like if you’re trying to build fatigue tolerance, then great. But if I’m trying to like work on something specific at that point, I’m usually checked out. >> Yeah, that’s actually >> happened at eight. >> Look at all. >> Okay. Well, I don’t even know where this hole goes. >> We’re going to be able to get to the green. >> Love that. Got a little bit of a sidehill lie. I tend to draw these. It’s straight down wind. I’m going to go five iron. Got 240 something. 246. >> 246. Let’s try to hit a hard five iron. Oh, chunked. >> Oh, no. That >> left bunker. >> Oh, >> stay out. >> That should stay up. >> That was so bad. >> That was so chunked. >> So chunked. >> I’m going to try to erase that shot from my memory. >> That would be smart. Oh man, that’s heinous. I got 9 in closer than James. I got nine wood. Nice thing about a wood, it should be easier for contact out of a fairway bunker. Key word being should. It’s probably left greenside bunk. >> Yeah. I mean, depends on the bounce. If it lands just shy, it might kick it right. >> Okay. >> Okay. Well, that wasn’t my best of bunker shots, but we got away with it. 98 yards to the pin sitting down. So just going to count out zero spin. So 98 zero spin I’m going to play 88. Then downwind I’m going to play 80. Then release I’m going to play 75. So I’m going 75. Golf swing here. >> Came out good. >> Go. Now sit. >> Yeah. Good shot, dude. >> Thank you. Yeah. Go. >> It’s well done. >> All right. Look. Thanks. >> It’s a funny shot. >> Yeah, it’s I mean zero spin. It’s going to just release a ton. This is for eagle. He’s two down with two to play. This would be >> It feels like a must make. >> This is close to a must make. >> All right, just give it enough room left. >> Let’s see this. This is He’s got some hands up slope. I’m expecting to hit this if not in tight. Oh, DID HE DO IT? OH MY GOSH. >> Are you kidding me? >> We needed that so bad. >> That was so good. Tap in >> birdie. >> It’s okay. >> Now I got to make this. I got to >> knock this in and keep a two shot lead going to the last. >> I thought I had it. Dude, >> that was so good. >> I just It was a nice shot cuz I I tried to fly it like 10 ft short and I chunked it and you know if you chunk it, it’s still going to get there. Yeah, exactly. Good birdie. >> All right, now this becomes almost a must make. Right to left. It’s going to break pretty much the whole way there. Oh, that thing snapped so hard right the face. That was bad read. >> What’ you say? >> Sure did. All right, par. >> One shot lead going to the last. All right, one shot lead going to the last. >> All right, this is this is a this been a great match. >> This is a good match. A lot of back and forth. >> Good holes, some bad. >> Where what teams are we playing? This this hole is pretty dang tough. So, >> we’ll play back. I think wind. >> What do we got? Five. >> It’s 490, but >> 498. >> It honestly doesn’t play too long. >> Come on. This has been a really tough T- shot for me because I just end up hitting it so far right. >> Well, the wind’s off the left and it’s like you obviously don’t want to go left. So, it’s a hard T- shot. >> Just got to trust it. Commit. That’s what I’ve been saying, right? >> So, what what are you are you trying to hit a draw here or? >> No, I’m going to go at the kind of left fair bunker and then Yeah. Okay. >> If I overdo it, so be it. And it’s in the water. >> Gosh, James. >> Go. No, I think it’s good. >> I heard it hit something. >> I heard it hit something. >> That was >> Yeah, I think >> I thought for sure that was in the water. >> It kept coming. All right, >> I committed. I can’t ask for anything more. >> Same thing. I just got to commit to this shot. I’m I’m I’m aiming a little bit further right than that, but same sort of vibe. >> Thanks. Sit a little. Sit a little. >> Okay, land. >> That was pretty close. >> I think one started a little bit for the left. >> I think you can get around that corner. >> All right, dog. We got one hole left. Thank you for coming on the channel. >> Of course, dude. >> It’s been fun. It’s been fun just catching up. >> Every time I get to see you, it is a good day. So, I would love to see you more. >> Yeah. >> Sure. Every time we’ve been together, it’s always a good time. It’s >> always a good time. >> We’re doing something right. Right. >> Keep the vibes high. >> Yeah. >> You’re sure we’ll play plenty of golf now. Now that we’re in the same area. >> I know. I know. You’re more than welcome to come out to Flirty and Old Palm. Honestly, whatever you want. And just some good courses if you ever want to run. But >> But we got one hole left. >> Wow. I can’t believe mine didn’t go in the water. >> I think you’re just in the bunker. And your fairy bunker game is pretty dang good. I’m in the fairy bunker game. Am I >> Are you in the fairy bunker? I >> think so. >> I feel like you >> My fair bunker is not so good. >> Is that >> No, that’s Chris. >> Am I up against the lip, too? >> I’m up against a lip. >> Oh, I’m making it. It’s a three shot hole, I guess. Unless I can get it out of the bunker, but >> I think I might be able to get it. >> I think you might be able to get 180. >> 178 wind off the left. >> Yeah. All right. All right, Cam. This is redemption. Got to get it up and over this lip. We’re aiming this a little bit right. Got to hit this hard. Try to get a little look at this one here. See what we can do. >> Oh, that sounded incredible. >> Yeah, I just I just clipped it. I That was >> That sounded incredible. >> Where is that? >> Back right bunker. >> Did it get in the bunker? >> In the bunker. >> See it come down in the grass. Oh man, >> is that a tricky little shot there? >> That’s I mean, you got it, but >> I wasn’t going to take that like over the left water with this wind. >> I think if you’re in the fairway, you’re getting it up and down every time cuz it’s a feeder, but out of the bunker, it makes it a little a little extra equation. >> Dude, I don’t know. I might be >> You literally like, >> “All right. on the bunker. >> Go RT. >> No, no, you just cross here. Cross here. >> Okay, >> that’s friendly. >> All right. I think his ball landed and then kicked into the hazard. So, he’s going to drop here. Got to get up and down. >> I’m in that bunker, which is kind of sketchy, too. So, >> 61. Okay. >> Yeah, unfortunate. >> Back here in the fairway. >> The carry was close. Um, but yeah, took my two club lunch getting the fairway. Oh, >> 68. >> 68. Okay. Off the left. >> Might as well try and hold it, huh? Guess I have to. >> I’ll go right at it. You’re right number. I can’t. You can’t say I didn’t give it a try. That was cool. That was cool. >> I enjoyed that. >> All right, we’re going to go find my ball. Saw just hit a six shot in there. So, he’s got about 8 to 10 ft for bogey, right? One and two out. Three there. Wait, >> for par. >> Is that for par? >> For par. But you you have a one shot lead. So, >> yeah. I got to get something down. >> It’s a little short. >> Yeah, a little out of your eyes. It’s a little short. Got to get up and down. Where’s my ball >> for all intents of purposes? So, I’m going to go 56 or at least feel it. >> S’s got a par putt. I got to get this up and down. >> Can’t give him a chance. >> We just need to at least at least get the 50 back. >> Okay. Yeah, I love this 56. Try to land it right in that front part of the green. Have it just >> trickle up close to that pin. >> He’s going to put it away. I think he deserves this match. He’s played really well. Oh, yeah. That 56 came out nice. >> Oh, it didn’t rip. >> It’s a good shot. Just >> Yeah, I I tried to carry it way less than that, so I thought I could get lucky, but >> I guess I’m still in this, huh? >> I guess I’m still in it. If I make and he misses, we tie. It was a bit of a friendly drop, but all right. Gosh, it’s a really tricky shot for that bunker. I didn’t want to leave it short, so at least I have an uphill putt now. But let’s see. If I make this, I win. If I miss it, I leave the door open for somebody who’s made a lot of putts on me today. So, in my head, got to make this. Three under. He’s two under. This is to finish at three under a really tough day, Panther. So, would be really happy with it. >> Brian, give me your Sunday best here, dude. I’m calling you in the last hole. >> Sunday best. >> I I’m feeling a little bit of a right to left here. Let’s see what you got. >> I I Okay. I had it overall right to left. Okay. >> Yep. Okay. Must make Let’s go. Oh, it broke. >> Just broke at the end. >> It broke more. >> It’s a good putt. That’s good. >> Oh, man. >> All right. Saying there’s a chance. >> Oh, dang it. All right, S. Knock it in for the tie. >> That actually helps me on my putt. I wasn’t sure if it was going to go right at the end, but now I’m positive it is. All right. This This would be sick. >> Oh my god. >> What a match. >> Come on, baby. >> Dude, good putt. >> That was awesome. Thanks, dude. >> Thanks for coming on the channel. >> That was a friendly drop. We I will say that on camera, but uh >> No, no, I enjoyed it. That was a great match. We deserve a little half there. Way to go. Please come on the channel. We’ll have to run it back. >> Yeah, 100%. We’ll run it back. >> The flow next time. But >> yeah, sounds like a plan, dude. That was awesome. That was a lot of fun. >> Good work. >> Yeah. Thank you. Sub to this guy. This guy’s a man. >> Thanks, guys. >> Ah, good work, guys. >> Thanks, boys. Four in a back.

Amazing video, James has the talent and game to be one of the best on even the PGA tour. Keep up the amazing work and grind!
James, you are my favorite YouTuber. Your videos are so inspiring. Keep it up!
I was at the waste management in 2022 following Sahith around in his final round. I was to the right of 17 when his drive rolled up the left side of the greeen and after about 50 feet turned left into the water. He missed a playoff by one. Exciting moment
This is the stuff that I like the most . Matches between elite players.
Great content actually enjoyed your conversations with Sahith, like Sahith said the difference between PGA player and Korn ferry is 9 out of 10 because 8 out of 10 is not good enough! Good luck James and remember 9 out of 10!!
What a vid, hopefully next match is on tour
You gotta play the Bryan bros!
It was wierd watching an entire round with just your torso floating around.
Great, fun match.
Sahith, how long is your 9 wood shaft and what setting is the hosel (sounds like you had it open — would be the "small minus" setting or "big minus")? Thank you.
What a great video and what a cool and regular guy Sahith is…
cameras gotta be more stable
Is someone paying you to wear those pants?
this is such an elite video and with such high level production. i hope it gets the love it deserves so you can keep making these
Sahith is so down to earth. Thanks for the great vid. Now, get on Tour!

This is a clinic in golf and psychology of golf. Super interesting. Maybe the best golf video ever made on YouTube.
Let’s go !
