the return of our man Justin Ray. Didn’t have you last week. We missed you, obviously. Um, nice to have you back once again. Um, you have some Scotty nuggets, J Ray, that you maybe didn’t get to throw our way. I’d like to hear um more glowing uh stat representation of how freaking good this guy is. >> Yeah, since I didn’t get to join you guys last week, I wanted to make sure we tied off any loose ends here. But um obviously Scotty an incredibly impressive performance at Royal Port Rush. Um and it throws himself into these incredible lists that he’s now on. Like since the first Masters in 1934, there are only three instances of a player winning multiple majors by in a season by four shots or more. Ben Hogan in 1953 when he went three for three in the majors he played. Arguably one of the three four best seasons in the history of golf. Tiger Woods in 2000, maybe the best season in the history of golf. Aside from maybe Bobby Jones winning the four the previous grand slam and Scotty last year. So 1953 Hogan Tiger Woods 2000 Scotty 2025 the only instances of a player winning more than one major in a season by four shots or more. Got me thinking since he’s now won eight times on the PGA Tour by four or more. If you go back since 1960 only four players have won uh nine or more times by four shots. So more than Scotty Sheffller. Tiger Woods obviously 24 times because of course Jack Nicholas 11 and the other two were a little surprising. Billy Casper nine kind of an underrated really good career uh in the shadow of the big three during the prime of his uh pro golf career. And Davis Love the Third won nine times on the PGA Tour by four or more shots. Those are the only guys since 1960 to do it more times than Scotty has. >> Oh my gosh. DL3 when I mean he won like what a couple years ago it seems like. Now, now >> 2015 Windham Championship. >> Yeah, now it’s now it’s been a minute, but yeah. >> Okay. A full decade, you know. >> Close. Close. Couple flips with the calendar. Um, okay. Sh. >> A more famous uh reason to remember that 2015 Windom Championship. I won enough money on DraftKings that week to buy my wife’s engagement ring. >> Oh, okay. >> A week that will live forever. >> Do you have a Do you have a pick this week you can give us maybe offline? I mean, I wouldn’t mind buying something really really nice. Let us know. >> Yeah, maybe. I mean, we’ll see. We’ll see what the Vinmo situation is and you know we’ll we’ll uh we’ll go from there. >> Yeah. More more of a zel guy honestly, but we can make things work. Okay. We went from Port Rush to Blaine, Minnesota and we had a weekend charge for the ages. Jay Ray, is that correct? >> Yes. It was an insane 20 birdies made by Kurt Kittyama over the last two rounds and his win at the 3M Open. That is the most birdies on the weekend of a PGA Tour win over the last 30 years. Nobody has made more than Kirk Kittyama’s 20 birdies that he racked up on the weekend of the 3M. >> I mean, the performance was incredible. Um, what did we say, Patrick? What did he shoot on the front? Was it 57? >> 57. >> 57. >> Pretty good. >> Pretty good. Um, also pretty good. Um, Lahi W. Uh, I mean, you know, I was talking about it with Sully last night on the on LU pod. It’s like there’s expectations for these players that burst on the scene, but it feels a little bit different with her. I mean, we had this with Rose Zang, obviously when she burst on the scene. Um, but this feels different for whatever reason. Obviously picking up a win what a couple weeks ago as an amateur and then now turns pro and already picks up another victory. Has a chance now at a major championship. She’s played great in a major championships. But I mean, how impressed are you in terms of what you’ve seen from her game and obviously just jumping right out and getting some victories. >> Yeah, and a tie for third at Evian. the stage is obviously not too big for her. That’s kind of the thing you you think you might see when you got a player even of with the immense talent of Lahi Wde um or Rose Zang or anyone in the men’s game who you expect to have see great things from. You think, okay, this next stage it’s going to be tougher. You know, there’s going to be some adjustments that need to be made. How about I win the Irish Open by what, five or six, third at the Evian, a major championship. We can debate on on the status of that as a major, but it is a major tied for third. And then I’m going to win my LPGA Tour debut as a pro. Um, over those 12 rounds, she’s 55 under par and is gaining almost five strokes per round on the field. Justing run of golf. It’s crazy. Um, only the second player to win the Irish and Scottish in the same year. Both of those tournaments have kind of jumped around on the calendar over the years, but the only other player to do it is Dame Laura Davies in 1994. So, pretty decent company, especially considering Lahi won one of those when she was still not getting any money to do so. >> Oh my god, that is I can’t get over the five. That’s not even Scotty number, Shane. That’s That’s past Scotty gaining almost five per round. That is stupid. >> Is she better than Scotty? That’s the That’s the That’s the article you should write this week, Patrick. That’s your That’s your hook. >> I think uh I think unfortunately the sports radio shows in New York beat us to it. That is what they’re talking about this morning. Not training camp. Uh, one more LPGA stat for us. Is that right, JRE? >> Yeah, it’s been a, if you want to talk about the parody at the top of the game in the LPGA, certainly a lot more so in the major championships when you compare it to the men’s game. But consider this, we have not had a multiple winner yet on the LPGA tour. They actually have more winners this season than tournaments played. 19 tournaments, 20 wins because there was a team event, the DAO championship. So, and it’s not like this might not continue because there’s a lot of great players who haven’t won yet. Most notably, Nelly Cord has not won. Hannah Green hasn’t won. Ronnie Yin hasn’t won. Jin Young Co hasn’t won. And yet, we still n or 20 for 19. 19 for 19 different winners every single week on the LPJ tour this season. According to the tour, that’s the longest such streak they’ve ever had within a single season. >> I mean, Nelly not winning this season’s crazy. You talked about her stats a few weeks ago, J Ray, and just like how impressive she’s been this season without >> She’s actually better. She’s better than she was last year. Break it down. Yeah. Can’t Ke take a trophy home? Maybe that’ll change. Obviously. I mean, we we we want Nelly to be great, right? I mean, that’s one of the keys to the LPGA is like leaning on Nelly. She was good on Happy Gilmore, too, by the way. I thought she kind of >> I was going to say she did play a great uh psych psychological board doctor. >> Yeah, it was another cameo. Patrick hadn’t seen it yet. He’ll get involved. But, uh Jay, we always appreciate it.
