Athletic Director Greg Byrne expressed the program’s gratitude for the support of former student-athletes like Justin Thomas.

Thomas was a standout athlete for the Crimson Tide from 2011 through 2013 and earned national recognition during his career, including the Phil Mickelson Freshman of the Year, the Jack Nicklaus Player of the Year, and the Haskins Award.

In a statement, Thomas expressed his love for the University of Alabama and his commitment to it.

Justin Thomas turned Pro in 2013 and has already clinched two significant victories in 2017 and 2022, as well as the FedEx Cup championship and Players Championship.

He was named PGA Tour player of the year in 2017 and, in 2018, reached number one in the world golf rankings.

He currently has 16 PGA Tour wins and 10 runner-up finishes.

The University of Alabama’s board of trustees must formally approve this commitment before the university can accept it.
