I like that. I like the idea of the first hole being relatively easy on the course. I play a couple near me where the first hole is the #1 handicap. If you score well, it can bode well for the rest of the round but also, it’s the #1 handicap hole for a reason. OP’s photo is driveable for the big boys.

18 at my home course is a nightmare. Twice this past summer I needed a bogey to finish under 80 and I tripled. Leaves me bitter but, I guess psychologically, yearning to get back out there and slay that bitch.

In my early 20’s I drove the green. Now my tee shot gets about halfway there haaha! It really is such an awesome opening hole and a fantastic course!
