A brand new golf shop has opened in Southport – the centre of ‘England’s Golf Coast’ and the place hosting The Open golf championship in 2026.
Hole In 1 Golf has opened at 203 Lord Street in Southport town centre, a local independent family-owned business.
It’s been opened by Glyn and Lisa Richards and son, Max, in time for Christmas, and with all eyes on an incredibly exciting year ahead next year.
They said: “We opened on 1st December and have enjoyed a brilliant response from customers since we arrived.
“So many people have been saying ‘we’re so glad you’ve opened’!
“Southport is hosting The Open at Royal Birkdale next year.
“This area also boasts ‘England’s Golf Coast’, with so many fabulous golf courses nearby.
“Opening this shop was a no-brainer for us. There’s a real need for what we offer.
“We’re so excited for The Open coming next year! We’re looking forward to cheering on Tommy Fleetwood. It would be fantastic to see him win The Open in his home town. He’s such a humble, down-to-earth person.
“We’re excited to see all the other major new events coming to Southport next year too, including Lightport, Cristal Palace, the Big Top Festival and Books Alive!
“There are going to be so many reasons for people to come and visit Southport.
“Lord Street is going to be busy! It’s such a beautiful, iconic shopping street and a lovely place for people to spend time.”
