Football enthusiasts have enjoyed a day of banter, golf and friendship at Friends of Football’s tenth annual charity golf day.
The 2025 event was held at Huapai Golf Club beside Auckland’s Coatesville-Riverhead Highway in November 2025.
Teams of four competed for the Bill MacGowan Memorial Trophy and an array of prizes, as well as supporting our work through raffles and an auction.
Proceeds from the day support Friends of Football’s efforts to back projects and activities that benefit the game in New Zealand.
Winners of the golf event were a team made up of Andrew Marck, Yong Min Lee, Matthew Thomas and Rieny Marck.
Rieny Marck also won our prize for being closest to the pin, while Matthew Thomas won the prize for the longest drive.

Remembering Bill MacGowan

Our trophy for the winning team is named after the late Bill MacGowan, one of New Zealand sport’s best administrators, who died in 2018.
With the help of Bill’s wife, Trish, we introduced the trophy in his name for our 2019 golf day.
We’re proud to celebrate the memory of Bill MacGowan again this year.
